About a week after Halloween, Strong Bad frequently hosts a slideshow of photos of Homestar Runner–themed costumes sent in by fans.

Fan Costumes have changed over time. Originally, the pictures had a simple white border, and were shown against a blue night-sky background, with a title at the top. The first Fan Costumes toon was called Fan Costume Commentary, suggesting it wasn't yet intented to become a yearly feature, supported by the fact that the next Fan Costumes toon was released two years later. Starting the next year with Fan Costumes '06, all Fan Costumes have included the year in the title, suggesting that 2006 was the year they decided to make Fan Costumes a yearly feature. Starting with the same toon, the style was changed as well; all costumes were shown on a projector screen in the basement of the Brothers Strong, with a slide transition between each costume.
