Homestar Runner as Tom Dover Homestar Runner Tom Dover Tom Dover is one of the three titular brothers from The Dover Boys at Pimento University, a 1942 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Chuck Jones. A loose parody of the Rover Boys, the absurdist and distinctly animated short follows the brothers as they attempt to rescue their shared fiancée Dora Standpipe from "coward, bully, cad, and thief" Dan Backslide.
Over the decades, the short has developed a cult following. The trio made cameo appearances in Animaniacs and Space Jam, while a 2018 fan production collaboratively re-animated the short.

She was originally created as shorts for Pee‑wee's Playhouse after Bartlett moved to Los Angeles in 1987.
