[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 31 (Jul 30-Aug 5)

I say Food and Drinks get a spotlight this week. How about Mountain Dew, Potate, SBLOUNSKCHED! Bar or Fluffy Puff Marshmallows. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 14:17, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Those sound good, but I wanna see something real-world featured for once. Maybe TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004? --Trogga 19:40, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
If we're going to feature something real-world, we should cover Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007 instead. It's the most recent and up-to-date of their public appearances and has relatively few page views. Also, you can't enjoy the TMBG Concert through the medium of text. The transcript doesn't do it great justice. Instead, you need to purchase it to appreciate it. Not everyone has credit cards, you know! Therefore, it will be better to feature something informative that all can enjoy reading than something musical which only a minority can enjoy listening to. – The Chort 17:18, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
I support GT, it's a great article. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:22, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 32 (Aug 6-12)

Following Trogga's suggestion, I say we feature Strong Badman. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 23:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Sure. Has good length, easy to summarize, and some other third thing. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 23:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm down. Good writing, good length. Yeah, sure. Bluebry 17:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Not a huge fan of doing this two weeks after another SB-related character (Senor Cardgage). Yes, I realize SC is really a separate character, but still, a little overly SB-focused in my mind. Heimstern Läufer 08:12, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Maybe Nintendo instead? --Trogga 19:22, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Nintendo sounds like a great idea. Good lead, good length, many images, and an important part of the body of work. Has Matt? (talk) 13:49, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 33 (Aug 13-19)

I've created a standby redirect to last week's featured article because no one, including myself, can seem to get an FA write-up started until the main page has a gaping red link in its featured article section. It's embarassing when an anonymous user has to start the featured article for us an hour after it should have debuted, and it makes me wonder why more of our regulars don't notice this sort of thing. Go ahead and put a write-up in place of the redirect once the article has been chosen.BazookaJoe 01:48, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Senor Cardgage? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps move alternate universe here if Senor is gona be week 30? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 23:14, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

How's Big Knife sound? --Askingforachallenge 02:27, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Too HRW:OA. I'd go for alternate universe. Has Matt? (talk) 23:36, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
alternate universe. Also, Joe is right, we need to pay attention to this thing more often. I'm gonna watch this page and put a link at the top, myself. Bluebry 01:12, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 34 (Aug 20-26)

Action Cool 5? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Maybe, but it seems to me that most to all of the important content would fit on one FA section. Craig Zobel? Bluebry 17:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Too short and unsourced. Homestar Runner and Marzipan's Relationship? --Trogga 02:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm kind of uncomfortable featuring a relationship. I'd think I'd rather go with Nebulon. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 12:04, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Ugh. I dislike the writing. What about... oh! Mellow Mushroom! It may seem short, but we can lengthen it. You know, like make the characters section more text-like. "The characters include Mel O. Mushroom, the main character of Mellow Mushroom, Dude Shroomington, Mel O. Mushroom's friend; he seems to have a crush on Melody..." I think it would be good to feature something both interesting and not very well known in the Homestar Runner alternate universe. Although, it seems a little dated, so we may need to fix it up a little. Bluebry 01:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
MM sounds fine, but what's wrong with relationship pages? --Trogga 01:29, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
I realize this is supposed to go live in a half hour, but... I don't agree with MM. I don't think completely non-H*R content is appropriate to be featured on HRWiki. I also agree with Trogga that there's no reason we couldn't feature a relationship. Heimstern Läufer 23:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Meh, I don't even think MM should be an article... Loafing 23:47, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
I don't think this FA is half bad. Candid readers and glancing HR fans should find little-known TBC work interesting enough. —BazookaJoe 03:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 35 (Aug 27-Sep 2)

The Battle of Strong Badia? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

That sounds OK, but I'd rather see Weclome Back featured this week. You know, with Summer ending and everything. --Trogga 02:20, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Um, is it just me, or did Mellow Mushroom get featured without any mention of it here whatsoever? --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 07:13, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
It's all up ons in the previous week's section.
I likes Weclome Back a lot, and I think it would go pretty well for this week. Heimstern Läufer 19:28, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 36 (Sep 3-9)

Georgia Tech - 26 Apr 2007? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

You know, we haven't had a public appearance as a FA so far this year. Seeing as this is a fairly recent article and has been accessed relatively few times, I like the idea of giving it some much-needed publicity. I mean, I didn't know this article existed 5 minutes ago! – The Chort 15:56, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
I CONCUR. It seems to be a pretty good idea. The only thing I can think of is whether or not we can fit enough info onto the FA section thing. Bluebry 17:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
I've already suggested a public appearance for an earlier week. How bout Corpy NT6 instead? --Trogga 22:02, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
No, it's too short. If you were to feature it, you would have a daily feature thing with other computers. How about Sweet Cuppin' Cakes or Painting of a Guy with a Big Knife? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 12:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Would it be possible to lengthen School enough to make it a featured article? Homestar-Winner (talk) 01:34, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
I dunno... it seems like one sentence and some appearances... not possible, in this reporter's opinion. Bluebry 01:37, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
There was some talk last year about having a Labor Day feature. I've always liked Labor Dabor, and we haven't featured too many puppet toons (it's true, though, that it's a bit short). Heimstern Läufer 19:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Depends - is that daborday labor day? But seriously, Labor Dabor sounds good to me. Bluebry 00:26, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
I'd go with either go with that or labor day. --Trogga 00:47, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 37 (Sep 10-16)

Homestar Runner's Sleepwear? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

I admit, even I'm surprised at how thoroughly we've documented a topic like that. As another sign that we really do seek to cover everything, this could make a fun feature. Heimstern Läufer 21:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
That looks fine for a featured article. Good prize wbwolf (t | ed) 15:46, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 16:52, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 38 (Sep 17-23)

The Show? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Since there is a big birthday card push, why not have Mike Chapman as the featured article for this week? His b'day falls in that week. wbwolf (t | ed) 15:27, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
No, we featured The Brother Chaps already. The Show is fine. And we didn't feature Matt when it was his birthday. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:21, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't see what's wrong with featuring TBC individually. --Trogga 19:46, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. I think it'd be good to feature Mike. Ideally, I'd like to feature Matt on his birthday, too. The problem with that is that his birthday comes the day after Halloween, when we usually have some Halloween-themed feature on the main page. Heimstern Läufer 22:15, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
We'll deal with that when it happens. Mike's good for this week. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 03:26, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Couch Mumbling? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 15:12, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Couch mumbling?--Kanjiro talk 14:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Interesting content. It looks to me like it could use some more prose in the intro, though (too much is devoted to explaining how the article is formatted rather than the gag itself). Any takers? Heimstern Läufer 16:36, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
If no one's ready to expand that one, how about Kicking The Cheat? Heimstern Läufer 19:19, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Kick The Cheat works. A really good intro, and some substance in the appearances. wbwolf (t | ed) 19:27, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] HRWiki:Featured article for 2007, week 40 (Oct 1-7)

I'm very surprised we have not featured Stinkoman 20X6 I think we feature Stinkoman 20X6 this week. User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 13:57, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

We're still waiting for level 10 before we feature it. Grumble. Heimstern Läufer 16:32, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, but we've been waiting for like two or three years. --Trogga 16:42, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree, it's not coming, I think it should be featured.--~ SlipStream 11:29, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't be that pessimistic, since TBC mentioned in the Georgia Tech appearance that still intend to make level 10, but other things like babies and such have made them busy. Nevertheless, I think that it would be fine to feature the game now, rather than waiting. wbwolf (t | ed) 17:49, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Their programmer moved away from them. That's the main reason it's taking so long. As for featuring this article, I'm undecided. —BazookaJoe 17:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm still against featuring it until either it is completed or it TBC themselves say that it will not be finished. Until then, I believe it does not make an appropriate featured article as it remains incomplete and all we can say is "they say there'll be another one, but it hasn't come yet". Furthermore, if it is completed someday, we either have to never feature the complete version or we have to repeat a featured article. Heimstern Läufer 22:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Any other ideas? --Trogga 06:47, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps a different game, such as Kid Speedy or Where's an Egg?? Heimstern Läufer 18:29, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Kid Speedy would be a good one to feature. For games, it's better to feature older games. wbwolf (t | ed) 04:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Sure, why not? Kid Speedy it is (until someone comes along and shoots it down...). Super Martyo Brother (Talk | contribs) 00:36, 25 September 2007 (left unsigned)
Kid Speedy sounds fine to me, too. I think it's too early to feature Where's An Egg?, although that would make a great featured article next summer or so. Trey56 00:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Kid Speedy is cool, so let's go with that. Here's a question for us to consider (though the discussion should probably not take place here): Why is it that people think we should wait a while before featuring relatively recent things? For me, it's a great idea to feature recent releases (as long as it's not within the past month or so), as it shows our constant work on documenting TBC's work quickly.
