Scroll Button Songs
From Homestar Runner Wiki
- This article is about the list of all scroll button songs. For the DVD video featuring the first seventeen songs, see Scroll Button Songs (video).
Scroll Button Songs (also referred to as Strong Bad Email raps) are the songs that Strong Bad sings on the Strong Bad Email menu page. The list is ordered from the newest at the top, to the oldest at the bottom. A collection of the scroll button songs (from "Oooh, fancy new scroll buttons" to "Huzzah, on the mic...") was included on strongbad_email.exe Disc One. Many previous songs can be heard by clicking the small checkered box below the scroll bar, with the song depending on the computer the menu is on.

[edit] Fun Facts
[edit] Trivia
- The April 21, 2008 song had been on the site for 14 months and 7 days, then the longest period of time for any scroll button song. It has since been eclipsed by the Compé's run of 11 years and 4 months, though most of that time was during a site-wide hiatus.
- The "scrolla but-ton-és" in the August 31, 2009 song is a callback to a much older "song", where that is all that Strong Bad said.
[edit] Remarks
- The August 13, 2007 song is the only one to include instrumental music, and the button to whatever is playing the music can be heard being pressed at about the time Strong Bad hits enter on his computer.
- The April 20, 2004 song references the addition of a draggable scroll bar with the line "Hold it, control it".
[edit] Inside References
- The September 12, 2005 song refers to random.bat, which was released simultaneously with the rap.
- The June 6, 2005 song is one of Marzipan's attempts at a scroll button song in replacement, which, interestingly enough, Strong Bad ridiculed as "the worst song [he] ever heard." The Brothers Chaps decided to use this as a scroll button song while they were recording the commentary for that email.
- The rap duet between Coach Z and Strong Bad may be a reference to new hands, in which Coach Z first performs "These Peoples Try to Fade Me."
- The duet unique to Homestar Runner Original Soundtrack calls back to their duet in rampage.
[edit] Real-World References
- In the November 8, 2004 rap, Strong Bad refers to Norman Rockwell, an early-20th-century painter.
