{The Cheat's record player appears on a table in Strong Bad's basement. An album cover slides onscreen, which reads "limozeen" (in sloshy's logo's font) "vs. SLOSHY" (in Limozeen's logo's font). Two feet are seen: one Hollywood Boulevard and one wearing jeans and a Chuck Taylor All-Star. At the bottom of the screen, it reads "A. Limozeen plays sloshy's 'We Don't Really Even Care About You'" and "B. sloshy plays Limozeen's 'Because, It's Midnite'". Each has "listen", "download", and "hear the original" next to it. By default, Limozeen's version of "We Don't Really Even Care About You" plays.}

[edit] sloshy's cover of "Because, It's Midnite"

Walkin' the streets, I got a feelin',
It's leather tough, you betta believe it.
Wakin' up late, asleep in the gutter.
Breakin' the chains, you better cut me some,
Cut me some...

I got the heart-heart of a lion,
And the wings of a bat, why?
(Because, it's midnite.)
I got the heart-heart of a lion,
And the wings of a bat, why?
(Because, it's midnite.)

Liquid and leather,
(Liquid and leather.)
In equal measure.
(In equal measures.)
Champagne glass.
(Champagne glass, champagne glass.)
Mix 'em together.
(Mix it, mix it.)

Sweet city sweat, vampire love,
Crimson flows down from the wings of a dove.
Oh, floatin' over the pavement, a guitar takes flight.
I'm wearin' really tight pants! Because it's midnite.

(I got the) Heart-heart of a lion,
And the wings of a bat, why?
(Because, it's midnite.)
I got the heart-heart of a lion,
And the wings of a bat, why?
All right, we're done here.

[edit] Easter Eggs

{Teeg Dougland is standing in the back of the Space Machine and addresses the members of Limozeen.}
TEEG DOUGLAND: I'm afraid I've got some bad news, boys. sloshy's tour van is getting away.
{Cut to Larry shaking his fist at Gary}
LARRY: Gary, hit 'em with some hot lixx!
{A guitar rises up in front of Gary and he grins. Cut to an external shot of the Space Machine, flying through space firing lasers while a guitar solo plays. The lasers hit the broken-down van of sloshy as it flies away.}
{Cut to the interior of the sloshy van as the guitar music fades. One band member is driving, one is turned around in the shotgun seat, and one (the glasses-wearing bassist) is sitting in the back seat.}
SLOSHY MEMBER 1: Uh, hey man, did you remember to recharge the shields?
BASSIST: Yeah... Yeah, we don't have any shields.
SLOSHY MEMBER 1: Oh... Do we have any cigarettes left?
BASSIST: Yeah, we got cigarettes. {holds up pack of cigarettes}
SLOSHY MEMBER 1: Awwwesome.
{The guitar solo resumes and the sloshy van explodes.}

[edit] Fun Facts

[edit] Explanations

  • The format of the single is known as a split single with two different bands on one release. Split singles where two bands cover each other's songs are often done by indie labels to promote the label and the two bands, thus the page title.

[edit] Trivia

[edit] Remarks

  • The space background used in the space chase scene in the Easter egg has a noticeable seam.
  • In the Limozeen cover, the lead vocals are trilled in some parts, resulting in a rolled R sound even when there are no Rs.
  • The sloshy cover of "Because, it's Midnite" is shorter than the original. Specifically, it skips a whole verse, chorus, and solo (the line starting with "Sunset Strip"). This verse was originally included, then edited out. Lyrically, the verse is similar to Limozeen's version, except "bringing the metal back to where it belongs" is sung as "bringing the WHAT? back to WHAT?"
  • As mentioned in concert, one of the members of sloshy has his back to the camera throughout the Easter egg.
  • Counting all four songs together, this is the longest Short by nearly two minutes.

[edit] YouTube Version

  • The songs play automatically, starting with Limozeen's cover, then sloshy's cover. Afterward, the cover title is crossed out and is replaced with the text "original", playing Because It's Midnite and then We Don't Really Even Care About You.
  • The Easter egg plays automatically after all songs are finished.
  • The YouTube description for this toon is "Split 7-inch featuring Limozeen covering sloshy and sloshy covering Limozeen. Stick around after the main event for the original versions!"
