The Sketchbook was a collection of conceptual art and sketches by The Brothers Chaps. Sketchbook entries often featured ideas used in or considered for toons that had been recently released. The latest sketch can be viewed by clicking on the s button at the top of a main page.

The sketchbook feature was generally updated on Thursdays from 2004 through late 2009. This hiatus was briefly broken in 2014, but no new art has been shared since October 30 of that year.

[edit] Fun Facts

[edit] Trivia

  • Prior to November 22, 2004, the image and text were part of the Flash file.
  • The font used in the captions is Bauhaus 93, the same font used on Homsar's shirt.
  • The longest hiatus between pop-up updates was exactly five years between October 22 of 2009 and 2014, with the longest overall hiatus being over 10 years since the following week's sketch. During activity, the record was eight weeks between April 10 and June 4, 2009.

[edit] Glitches

  • Clicking the s button repeatedly while the Sketchbook popup is still loading causes the image to move to the right, eventually appearing outside of the pop-up's frame. The more times it is clicked, the farther the text moves.
  • After the post-Flash site update on the first day of 2021, the button did not work: clicking the button on any main page had no effect.
    • On April 14, 2025, the button's function was partially reinstated; however, on most main pages the subtitle was placed too low in the box and read "the goblin was gonna" (the first line of text from the November 22, 2004 post). The correct caption and placement was only rendered on main pages 24, 25, 27, 28.
