The Brothers Chaps have participated in several projects independent of Homestar Runner, especially during hiatuses.

Websites

• Thorax Corporation (2000-2002) — The Brothers Chaps, primarily Matt, created this website for a fictional company that spoofs many elements common to low-quality websites in the early '00s. Elements of the site are occasionally referenced in Homestar Runner proper, though the site itself features no direct connects to Homestar Runner.
  • The fictional Thorax Corporation is a crudely-run business made up of stereotypical, overly aggressive domain-name owners.
  • File directories on the site have been used to host Matt's former music projects.
• Mellow Mushroom (2001) — The Brothers Chaps designed the website for Georgia pizza chain Mellow Mushroom. The layout, navigation, and sound effects are similar to that of Homestar Runner, and the voices of the brothers and Missy Palmer are very distinctive.
  • The website has since been redesigned, albeit keeping a link to the 2001 version through an Easter egg on the home page.
• The Great World of Sound Recording Comapny!! (2007) — Created to promote the movie Great World of Sound (see below), the site is purportedly for a shady record company.
  • As described by Craig Zobel, it was partially inspired by the Thorax Corporation website (see above).
• Eric Conveys an Emotion (2003, 2008) — The Brothers Chaps guest-starred in two of Eric's "Adventure Edition" photo galleries:

  • "The Interview"
• Ron Planet (2009-2010) — A webcomic by Matt Chapman and Craig Zobel, centering on the last astronaut on Earth in the year 2040.
• "Happy Holidays, Mike Chapman Style" (2011) — An animated customer story for email marketing service MailChimp.
• Cosmic Scoundrels content warning (2014-2016) — A sci-fi/comedy webcomic co-created by Matt Chapman and Andy Suriano. Many pages of the comic contain Easter eggs in their text descriptions, similar to the clickable words in Strong Bad Emails.
• Rick and Morty's Rushed Licensed Adventure (2014) — Mike and Jonathan Howe helped create this Rick and Morty Flash game for the Adult Swim website. Similar to Dangeresque Roomisode 1: Behind the Dangerdesque, it is a retro-styled point-and-click adventure game released in four episodes.

• Sealab 2021 (2000-2005) — For the episode "Sharko's Machine", Matt performed the songs "Respek Knuckles" and "The Knowledge Hat" in an 80s-rock style similar to Limozeen.

• Twigger's Holiday (2004) — Matt animated sequences in episodes 2 and 5. content warning
• Yo Gabba Gabba! (2007-2015) —
  • Created the animated segment "Faldarz and the Yellow Alien" in the episode "Friends"
  • Mike and Matt later wrote and directed several episodes, starting in season four (2011).
• The Aquabats! Super Show! (2012-2014) —
  • Matt wrote, directed, and/or starred in multiple episodes of the show.
    • In the episode "CobraMan!", he portrays wrestling-mask wearing carnival barker Carl, who resembles Strong Bad in appearance and speech.

• In 2012, it was announced that The Brothers Chaps had a development deal with Disney Television Animation.
  • An earlier pitch for Disney was an animated show about a robotic foreign exchange student.
  • Ultimately, the deal led to the production of Two More Eggs (see below)
• Gravity Falls (2012-2016) — Matt co-wrote several episodes and voiced multiple minor characters in the show. Series creator Alex Hirsch has since then made crossover cameos with the Homestar Runner characters.
• Wander Over Yonder (2013-2016) —
  • Matt has writing and story credits for the episodes "The Bounty" and "The Time Bomb".
  • Mike has writing and story credits for the episode "The Liar".
  • Series creator Craig McCracken's previous show, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, had referenced Homestar Runner a decade earlier.
• Mickey Mouse (2013-2019) — Matt co-wrote the short "The Boiler Room".
• Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015-2019) — Matt voices Alfonzo Dolittle and one head of a two-headed monster.
• Pickle and Peanut (2015-2018) — Matt provides the voice of Mr. Mjärt.
• One Dollar (2018) — Matt portrays Clark Shaw, father of Cooper Shaw (played by Matt's real-life daughter Ida Chapman) in her namesake episode.
• Amphibia (2019-2022) — Matt voices Tritonio Espada.
• The Owl House (2020-2023) — Matt voices the characters Harvey and Steve, as well as additional voices and vocals on a musical number.

• The Paul and Storm Nondenominational Perennial Holiday Special - Parts One and Two content warning — Paul and Storm created a parody of holiday specials in two parts; Part One was released on December 1st, 2014, and Part Two was released on December 23. It was created in order to serve as the $100,000 stretch goal for Paul and Storm's Ball Pit album. Mike and Matt are credited with animating the special, as well as helping to create the story. In addition, Matt voiced the character Mister Small Business. One of the backgrounds also contains a Videlectrix logo, and the "Indie Record Store" character bears a resemblance to Mike.
• Two More Eggs — A series of shorts produced by The Brothers Chaps for Disney XD's YouTube channel and other platforms.
• Camp Camp — Matt provides the voice of Carl, Neil's father in the season 2 finale content warning.
• Homemade Dance Party — Mike did animation for this children's project posted on Missy Palmer's Feline Revolution channel.

Film

• George Washington (2000) — directed by David Gordon Green
  • The movie opens with the title card "Free Country U.S.A. presents..."
  • Mike Chapman is credited for "Art".
  • "Mike & Matt Chapman" are listed among the individuals and organizations the movie's producers thank for their support.
• All the Real Girls (2003) — directed by David Gordon Green
  • Mike worked in the art department and is credited as the film's Graphic Designer.
  • Matt is credited as "Strong Bad" in the cast, appearing as a background extra.
  • In the DVD commentary for The Best Decemberween Ever, the brothers recall writing the toon while driving back and forth to Asheville, North Carolina to work on the film.
• Great World of Sound (2007) — directed by Craig Zobel
  • Mike and Matt Chapman are among the movie's executive producers.
  • Melissa Palmer is one of the movie's producers.
  • Matt and Missy both make cameos as auditioning musicians.
  • "Matt and Jackie Chapman" and "Mike Chapman" recieve "Very Special Thanks" in the credits.
• Monster Safari (unproduced) — Matt and Craig wrote a script for a feature-length stop motion film for The Jim Henson Company and Screen Novelties, expanded from a 2007 short film of the same name. Though the script was announced and written in 2009, the film did not enter production.
• Tangled (2010) — The Brothers Chaps worked on the promotional web shorts Flynn's Tangled Tales, later included on home video releases of the movie.
• D'artagnan is the Champion (2014) — directed by Missy Palmer
  • Missy is the narrator, director, and co-producer of this comedic documentary film.
  • Mike and Craig served as executive producers.
  • During a scene where Missy describes various "new things" she tried, she lists voicing "a cartoon character shaped like a broom" as a clip of Marzipan remarking I'm the only girl." (from Why Come Only One Girl?) plays.
  • The animated trailer for the film features music and sound effects from the Homestar Runner body of work.

Music and Music Videos

• In the retroCRUSH Interview, Mike states that Poot-Slap "was from a booty rap band we were in called 3-Dee".
• Mike was a member of the Athens, Georgia band Hi-Score in the 90's.
• Matt was the lead singer of the Tallahassee, Florida band The New You, which released the album Here's Where Things Turn Around in 1998. This album, including two more albums and miscellaneous tracks, were uploaded to the Thorax Corporation site in 2010.

• They Might Be Giants — The Brothers Chaps contributed the music video for "Figure Eight", from They Might Be Giants' children's album Here Come The 123s.
• Of Montreal — Matt and Mike directed the music video for "Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse"
• Y-O-U — Mike and Matt animated the music video for "LA Lindsay".
• Matt has recorded under the alias Mark Margarine and released two albums — The Specific Ocean and cover compilation Covers Annex — to the Thorax Corporation website in 2010. A track was included for The Doubleclicks' compilation The Giant Voting Mixtape in 2020.

• Air-Sea Dolphin — Matt and Mike formed this band along with Robert Schneider, James Huggins (formerly in of Montreal), and Ryan Sterritt in 2016. They currently have two releases to their name. On June 3, 2018, they released a split EP with sloshy providing the B-sides (which, appropriately enough, consist of re-recorded versions of "B-est of B-sides" and "American Football Championship"). They have also performed live at least three times, including portraying sloshy at the Homestar Runner 20th Anniversary Show.

Games

• Eye, Eye, Cap'n! — An extremely short game created in 24 hours for the VR Austin Jam 2018. Matt provided the voice for Cap'n Capman, who is named after him.
• Vacation Simulator — Matt is among the voice cast.
• All Hams on Deck! — Matt's voice clips from Eye, Eye, Cap'n are re-used, and Mike voices Hog Bad, a pig who looks like Strong Bad.

Family

• If I Ran the Camera — Mike and Matt created this Flash slideshow for a poem that their sister Karen had written for their father, Don Chapman, for Father's Day. The slideshow featured images of Don with his granddaughter Astrid Renee (Karen's daughter). This piece was a secret page originally posted on homestarrunner.com, but it was removed sometime in 2003 after the Brothers Chaps realized that fans had discovered it.
