[edit] Foo? Agent 8?

What does that mean? whas it a TROLL? Or maybe a TROLL? --anony no-troller

No, that's been there for quite some time. In fact it might have been left over from my user page on the old wiki. I just copied and pasted everything I had. I had joined maybe, a week earlier and at the time was really just interested in being able to see something HSR related at school because "Bess can't go there!" I guess I should delete that. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 15:22, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I should probably note that I've since deleted it. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 19:18, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Nice Jorb

Hey, ACupOfCoffee. This is Lapper from the recent changes patrol. I just wanted to congradulate you for bagging that minor-level troll the other minute. The sysop team will undoubtedly block him. — Lapper (talk) 03:01, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)

You're quite welcome. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 19:46, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] hurricane?

so wait, ur from Texas? Were you like, hurt or got ur house destroyed or spent 20 hours in traffic or something because of hurricane rita or katrina? just wonderin. Im researching on the hurricanes. --— talk Bubsty edits 22:51, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Both. We still have relatives from N.O. staying at our house. That's how I was (am) affected by Katrina. I didn't get it bad from Rita. My parents say our house suffered no physical damage. *Whew!* I did, however, have the pleasure [sic] of trying to eat meals in the cafeteria at school with a little more than double the usual number of people there at once, and a llittle less than half the food. And there have been and still are rolling power outages all across campus for the past 3 days. Other than that, I'm fine. I even got a five day weekend out of it. I'm still annpyed that my siblings had yesterday off, too. (shrugs shoulders) Oh, well. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:03, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Glad to hear you're all right. We get no hurricanes here in Seattle luckily - just lots of earthquakes. — talk Bubsty edits 04:38, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Your sig is done -- oops, no it's not

I think I've finished fixing your sig, but it only required 4 edits to the entire wiki. That was hardly a task that required GrapeNuts. Anyway, GrapeNuts made three edits and I had to make a fourth one myself because of GrapeNuts incompatibilities with our wiki. If you see any more old versions of your sig hanging out, let me know. Thanks. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 22:51, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Heh, I hadn't noticed there are several old sigs right here on your talk page. Uh, there's really no intelligent way I can change those, because they're just regular links to your userpage. I don't want to risk changing other people's links to your user page into sigs. Lemme think about this for a bit and I'll get back to you. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 22:54, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I probably should have asked you to change where I the tildes gave me this: ACupOfCoffee into this: — User:ACupOfCoffee@.

If you can't do it, then I'll do it manually. It won't be more trouble than it's worth, but it'll be close. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:08, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your donation

Thanks for your donation! I was wondering, though, would you like to be credited on the HRWiki:Ledger and HRWiki:Thank You! pages with your real name or your username? — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 15:49, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 'Stros

Well, it was a thrilling Series. Did you stay up all 5 hours and 41 minutes of Game 3? I did. The Astros had the same problem tonight that plagued them the whole year: stellar pitching backed up by no run support. Countless times over the last few days they had the tying or even go-ahead man on base, but they just couldn't get that elusive hit. Just one pitch or a swing here or there, and it could be Houston celebrating tonight; that's how small the margin between these teams was. In the end, though, it was the Sox who got it done with timely hitting and amazing defense, so yes, hats off to them, and we'll see ya come springtime. — It's dot com 04:40, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

My wife is a Texan. She will be upset when I tell her. I guess no desert tonight. :( I R F 15:34, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Yep, up the whole game. I had my eyes practically glued to the TV the whole game. Kept dozing off during my 9:00 class the next morning. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:19, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Invisible Robot Fish wasn't the one who left the original note here, by the way. It was me. (Your reply was addressed to him.) — It's dot com 05:25, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Sorry about that, It's dot com. I don't think too clearly at 12:15 in the morning. I just saw that sig last, and typed that. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 05:28, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

Oh! Sorry about your stros. The Cards got swept last year too. Oswalt really shut us down in the LCS, and congrads. Even though you didn't win the World Seires, you won the National League-for the first time in franchise history. Nothing to feel bad about. Every game could have gone either way in the WS, the White Sox just got the breaks. [edit] RE:Welcome!

Yeah, I know alot of the transcription standards and such. I've been over at the Fanstuff Wiki mainly so I've been filled in. Bassium!

[edit] Rather small bracket

I'm curious, was the change in brackets seen at the top of this diff done purposefully? I know it would be homesarish (and by that I mean it could pay homage to Homesar), which is why I didn't just barge in and change it back! But I wanted to at least let you know. --Stux 21:55, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

No, I think I accidentally had the shift key down. Thanks for telling me. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 21:59, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

When you say "created," are we talking about: you made it from scratch, or you modified an existing image that most likely was a screenshot? It's important to make that distinction, because it still needs a tag, even if it's just one saying that it's not copyrighted.(Dang, that was a boring reply. But we are discussing a pretty boring topic, so what could you expect?) — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 22:58, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Weird al Yankovic

I love TMBG AND Weird al Yankovic (and I'm one of the few people who know how to spell his name.)TheThin

Putting an H at the end of his name is one of my pet peeves. First album I ever got (besides childrens music) was the Bad Hair Day on cassette. I still listen to it, and it is the sole reason I refuse to drive a car with no tape deck. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 20:35, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
I have bad hair day cassett and CD. TheThin 00:29, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Sad's Lament images

Hi there ACupOfCoffee. Good idea with the images, but the reason those were in that format is because that's how they were on h*r.com. We used to just link to them, but that was bad and we wanted to make sure we didn't lose them if they were ever removed. This should have been explained somewhere, but alas it wasn't. Thanks. -- Tom 23:16, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Gotcha. Now I've learned something today. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 00:57, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Boy or girl?

Hey- so I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I was just wondering whether you're a guy or girl, out of curiosity. Thekillerdynamo 04:37, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Oops! just kidding. guy. sorry! Thekillerdynamo 04:37, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

You're not the first. It was the long hair, right? It really embarrasses my sister because some of her friends ask that, too. But I ignore it because she's fourteen and no matter what I do I'll embarrass her just because we're family and live together. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:42, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Welcome

I've been editing Wikipedia since May (constructively since July, with a user account since August) and that's similar to this site. But I probably won't be editing much if at all as I've never seen Homestar Runner, I mostly came here to sign Darth Katana X's guestbook (I was involved in the, erm, "controversy on Wikipedia" that he's mentioned, that's how I know him). Yeltensic 17:23, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image tag

I'm not sure I understand why this is the best tag for that image. Didn't he just rip that off from TBC in the first place? — It's dot com 01:39, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Yeah he did, but he wrote on the image description page that he released it under a Creative Commons license, so I just replaced the text with the tag. Now that you mention it, I'm not so sure he can "technically" (in a legal sort of way) do that. Ow! My head hurts from thinking so hard. I better go have dinner. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 01:48, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

Pr0wn'd!

For continuing to flood recent changes with Image tags, I present to you the yet unofficial "Pr4wn'd" trophy. Just don't leave it out in the sun too long. Thunderbird 01:13, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I wouldn't want it to get all grodalated or anything. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 01:18, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
That's two barnstars in three days! He, he, he! — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 03:42, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Holy crap! I just realized you've tagged over 1300 images! Now that's a feat and a half... How many are left? Thunderbird 14:15, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
The scroll bar is around two-thirds of the way to the bottom of the image list. There are somewhere between 3300 and 3400 of them and from what others have done about one third of the ones I'm looking at have already been done. So, let's see... that's (1/3*3350)(2/3)= um... 744.4 repeating. If those assumptions are anywhere near accurate, then the final answer is :approximately 750. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 17:39, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Don't forget this one. :) Thunderbird 02:05, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ghastbook

Hi! Over on that myoot-ant page that ate Manhattan, I made a change to a couple of ideas I'd put out. Under Other, I'd initially suggested restricting guestbooks to talk pages, but even I lost interest in that idea only a few hours later (plus, it was never really in context, as an answer to "If the practice is ended, what?"). A few edits later I put in a much more relevant idea about putting explanatory tags on guestbooks like those on archived STUFF and leaving them be (as opposed to deleting or subpaging). A little lower down you said "My vote's with AbdiViklas's suggestion." First of all, I've taken the liberty of formatting your comment so it is a vote; I don't know, though, whether you were agreeing with the first or second suggestion. If in fact you don't like the second idea, please turn your comment back into a non-vote. Thanks! *mdash;AbdiViklas 08:54, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weird Al Wiki

Hey, CoC. I noticed on your page you said you liked Weird Al Yankovic. Well, The thing started a Weird Al Wiki. I thought you might be interested. --smileyface.PNG11945 (Talk/Ctrbs) 16:13, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] CONGRATURATIONS!!!!

Since I was hanging around at the time you finished, let me be the first to congratulate you on your excellent work with the image tags. Now you deserve that Pr4wn even more! At the final count, your contributions log an unbelievable 1825 Image space edits. Minus a few image uploads, tag fixes, etc, we're still looking at a user who tagged an unprecidented 1800 IMAGES+. The wiki is in your debt. Thunderbird 09:22, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

EDIT CONFLICT x2: And the wiki can repay it by...nah, I think a job well done's its own reward. (Though it would be nice if a few people would check for all the incorrect tags and images I missed. On quite a few occasions I managed to get going at a pretty good rate, so my I know my error rate's not perfect. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 09:38, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... Speaking of error rates, your brackets in your above statement never closed. :) Thunderbird 09:44, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

I think it might be. By the way, the Alexa link on your user page is to hrwiki.com, which I think somebody bought up to get some of our traffic when people guess incorrectly at this site's address. We're much more popular than whoever they are. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 04:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Monobook

I sees you've been working on your monobook. (User:ACupOfCoffe/monobook.js). Sooo, do you need to know how to program Java to create one? Just wondering. Bluebry 00:34, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

No, at least not for what I'm doing. I'm adding a link into the line at the top of every page with "my talk preferences my watchlist", etc. I'm just following the instructions at Help:Quickbar. Incidentally, if anybody could help me get it before the link to my userpage, I'd really appreciate it. Whatever I specify it to go in front of, it goes behind. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 00:39, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Cool. What do you want it to say. Andf it was just a guess with Java. You know, JS = Java Script. Bluebry 00:42, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
"welcome" but I want it to link to User:ACupOfCoffee/welcome texts. I've got it up there, it's just before "mytalk" instead of my userpage. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 00:49, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Who's Kristen?

By the way, I noticed you had "Kristen ITC" in one tag and "ITC Kristen" in another. The first one's right. And yeah, it ought to be fairly common... I think... Also, I don't know if it works here, but in the html I'm used to you can specifiy "second choices" too, like a font to use if they don't have Kristeen...a. —AbdiViklas 08:04, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

The website of ITC has it listed as "ITC Kristen", so that's why I made that change. I'll have to see about this "second choice" thing. I don't know HTML, so I guess it's time for me to learn a little. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:21, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
Kristen's the daughter of the guy who designed the font. I like it partly because that's my sister's name. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:22, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Oh look, I'm being annoying. What a predictable...uh...thing!

You contacted me recently on the wiki-encyclopedia about Biohazard.jpg and it's possible unfree-ness-isity. Now, I'm sorry to reach you on your HRWiki talk page, but I can't add onto my own talk page because a vandal who shares my IP address got both our accounts frozen on Wikipedia so now I can't edit a single page on it until May 26th. I tried the "e-mail this user" feature, but it said you have either "not specified a valid e-mail address", or "chosen not to receive e-mail from other users". Then I tried emailing you on this wiki, but it said I wasn't logged in and didn't have a valid email address in my Preferences section, both which statements are untrue. Anyway, I'd provide copyright info for the page if I could, but I can't, what with the frozen-ness and all. So I'm just here to say nice going, jerk. Now my user page avy's gonna get deleted because of Michael Murphy a.k.a. Milkman1042, whom the only thing he shares in common with me is an extremely freezable IP address. I shall curse both those names till the day I die! Anyway, you suck. And need a haircut. --VolatileChemical 06:52, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

I was just going through the untagged images list, and gound that one, and what I did is standard practice. No need to let me know the source on WP, as long as I know what it is, it's ok. By the way, you can't email me with the "email this user" thing, because Tom disabled all MediaWiki email features after NSMC exploited them. Stupid 600 password reminders. Come to think of it, I think it's a "standard" image. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC) Edit: I haven't specified one on Wikipedia. I'm-a go do that right now. Stupid me, that's what you meant. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 07:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Generic

Hi there ACupOfCoffee. I'm not sure where you're going with the "generic fair-use" cat. We don't have a generic fair use cat, because we go through and subclassify all the fair use images, just like Wikipedia does (see fair use). I've always followed their cat and tag system fairly closely, so I just wanted to make sure where you were taking this one. Thanks. -- Tom 06:01, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

I thought I had saved that. Oh, clicked preview instead of save. I just copied the "fairuse" tag from Wikipedia. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:03, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
I notice you didn't copy the "Note: Please do not use this tag. Instead, use either one of the more specific tags..." part. I also notice that the template is found at Template:Restricted use now instead of "fairuse" and is in the Deprecated templates cat. I think we might want to follow in Wikipedia's footsteps and do what ever we can not to use this kind of template. In our case, I'm thinking that would involve doing away with the template all together, since I think we could do with out it, since we've done such an awesome job already being more specific. This would also mean we would have to figure out how to classify those copyright sketches. I suggested a short while ago that they might fit in {{logo}}. What do you think? -- Tom 06:11, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
EUREKA! Okay, go ahead and delete that template, then. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:16, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
I added a note and moved it to {{restricted use}}. We'll file it away, I guess, just in case. Thanks. -- Tom 06:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jeopardy

Do you know if there's anywhere I can find the episode(s) of Jeopardy you were in? With crap, Yeltensic (T C) 23:21, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I wasn't actually in it. (Though I do want to.) Ken Jennings came to my school on a speaking tour and part of that was the university got to field two temas to go against him in a game not dissimilar to Jeopardy. Since we host the state high school Academic Challenge championship every year, we were a ble to set that up without too much effort. I auditioned and was chosen to be on one of the tems against him. My parents were so thrilled with me that my mother shrugged off the parking ticket she got for not having a parking pass. My mother is not one to shrug off a parking ticket. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:43, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh, OK. It's just that your Wikipedia userpage says "this user was a contestant on Jeopardy." That's still cool, though. Speaking of which, have you seen the list on my userpage? With crap, Yeltensic (T C) 23:57, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Hmmmm, I thought that was for fans of the show. I'll have to see whether that is or not. I have seen it, but it's been a while. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 00:21, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally for fans, but that it was later changed to be for contestants. And of course, since it's a template, it was changed everywhere. That's why I subst'd all of my userboxes on Wikipedia, I got tired of them turning into red links whenever userbox deletionists delorted them (my poor old "This user supports the UN" and "This user favors EU integration" boxes died that way). Some of your userboxes definitely are likely targets in the Great Userbox War of 2006. With crap, Yeltensic (T C) 03:29, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
