Okay, should this page be organized somehow? The Halloween Costumes page is organized by year, but that doesn't seem to fit for this page. Maybe by character? --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 16:58, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

That will probably end up being the way it's done, yeah, by character. I don't code too well, so that'll be somebody elses job. No Parking

Should We include "Stoppy" "Poppy" and "Ryan S."? I vote Yes.

Your page. I say, if we're going to keep this page, we might as well do it right. I just filled in everything I could think of (no pictures yet though.) --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 17:08, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Woah. Images = absolutely horrible. Ridiculously huge pictures aren't great for slow computers and browsers. Let's set a standard for these images. What do you think would be best? —FireBird|Talk 17:45, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Maybe whatever standard is applied to Halloween Costumes would be good for this page. I love the idea, by the way. Are we going to include alternate outfits that aren't really "costumes" (like Homestar's #1 shirt or the Ghostbusters stuff?) BTW, I don't think that the Decemberween characters should be on this page. They already have their own pages, but if you wanted to consolidate, it might be worth making a separate Decemberween Costumes page. Aurora the Homestar Coder 17:50, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I was using images that were laying around on the site for some of them (The Sad Clown Dog, Rides Place Mascots, Dumple, Tito.) The bubs pictures look awful, I agree. Does putting them in |frame| help on DL speed or do we need to shrink them? I don't know how to deal with the Bubs costumes though. The Racket and the Baby Rattle and the Pitchfork (which I didn't get in the shot anyway) are all a part of the costume, really. No Parking 18:49, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
You could just reduce the image size, either through a paint program or by specifying the pixel size in the table. Aurora the Homestar Coder 18:54, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I think this looks a lot better now, but it just doesn't feel right to me. Each character's costumes come in a row, and it seems redundant to keep putting his name over and over. Maybe this would look better if they appeared in chronological order? That way all the Strong Sad costumes will be together and all the mascots will be together, all that good stuff. --Some HSR themed username 01:36, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Or maybe just group them in seperate charts for each character? -- Tony Stony 01:48, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I thought about that too, but it would be difficult with all of the pictures... --Some HSR themed username 01:56, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Well I don't know much about wikis, but couldn't it be possible to remove the "character" collumn, put a few blank line breakes between each section with different characters involved, and put in large bolder font on the top the name of the character? Instead of:
Homestar as x
Homestar as y
Homestar as z
Strong Bad as xx
Strong Bad as yy
Strong Bad as zz

would it be more practical to change to something like

Homestar
as x
as y
as z

Strong Bad
as xx
as yy
as zz

Sorry this was sorta a mess for this talk page..but I am inarticulate so a diagram had to suffice -- —Tony Stony Talk | Edits 18:52, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I have to admit, I like this page. Good Jorb. I do think it needs a better name. Wikipedia uses "List of..." , but that was before the category system. Ideas? - Dr Haggis - Talk 05:46, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There are more costumes in Malloween Commercial. E.L. Cool 18:36, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I think that the costumes in Malloween Commercial would count as Halloween Costumes. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 18:46, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Which characters?

Where do we draw the line on which characters to include on this page? Is this only for characters in the 'real' HR universe? Or can we include, for examples, Reynold as Gunhaver; Fightgar as old lady; and Mr. Pitters as teen girl? —BazookaJoe 02:48, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • I would say "use common sense" but that never works. As for "the line": Obviously, we know to keep our costumes listed elsewhere out. Since the Goblin is listed on one of the Halloween costume pages, I would say we should let minor character costumes in. But then again the Goblin is "real" and "The Cheat Commandos" not so much. As for Mr. Pitters, I've given episode 9 a once-over and... Minor TGS Character, just one issue, dressed up only half the issue, drawn instead of "real" I don't think I'd put him on what might be a long page. I think we can skip that one.

Reynold as Gunhaver -- Yes. Fightgar as Old Lady -- Funny stuff yeah. No Parking 20:22, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

You da boss. I'll throw those in when I am motivated. —BazookaJoe 21:16, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Come to think of it, I don't think The Cheat Commandos have a place on this page if Teen Girl Squad doesn't. It seems to me that CC and TGS are in the same category, that is, a fictional cartoon created within the realms of the HR universe. I don't want to leave out Mr Pitters, Cheerleader with an elephant head, and So and So as a gloomy keyboardist, while including Reynold and Fightgar. In my opinion, this page should be confined to just the 'main' characters. —BazookaJoe 22:49, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Okay, I don't think we should draw the line at: Yes, The Cheat Commandos and No, Teen Girl Squad. I was drawing the line at a character, Mr. Pitters, that we've only seen once and I don't think we will ever see again. No Parking 20:51, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

Sorry bout that but shouldent Strong sad as a stunt dubble count as Dangeresk (watever) --djm1791 05:17, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Good point. Removed'd! Your edit can easily be put back, depending on what people decide belongs in this article. -BazookaJoe 05:22, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Main pages

WE sould add all the costumes Homestar have on the different main pages. E.L. Cool 07:25, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Other Main Characters

Does anyone besides Trogga think that main characters like Coach Z or The Poopsmith need to be placed in the "Other Characters" section? Because I don't. Even if they only have one costume listed now, they will likely have more later. Some of them might even have more costumes now that people just haven't thought to add yet! --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:01, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I think we should name everyone with their own name (Or base cartoon like Cheat Commandos or Teen Girl Squad). So what if they have just one costume? (And we sould add TGS) E.L. Cool 21:06, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I think TGS would go in the Other Characters ig they were included (and I don't know why they shouldn't) unless costumes for them become MUCH more common. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 21:09, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)
The formatting I like is to have all the main characters have their own sections, with non-main characters in the Other Characters section. Unfortunately, there is some indecision as to which characters should go into that section (see "Which characters?", "Sorry", above) -BazookaJoe 21:11, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I just think it's bloated and tacky to give main characters that have just one or two costumes a section, while more minor characters are placed in the "Other Characters" section. --TROGGA! 21:43, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)

So, would we creat a new table for every minor character? Or a table for different character worlds? Or are we getting rid of the Strong Mad and Strong Sad costumes all together? Or do we call it "other Main Characters"? No Parking
I combined the "one costume" tables into a three costume table. I think it works. And honestly the idea of a different table for one costume did seem a bit silly. No Parking 18:45, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Other costumes in each character's page

I think we should just link to the appropriate section of the article in each of the main character pages. There is no need for the costumes listed on each page. Every time someone update the costume page, he/she need to update the character page. It's just pointles listing everything twice. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:47, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Covered in snow...

...is not a costume. He's covered in a material. So what? That does not merit a costume. —Gafaddict Image:Gafaddict sigpic.gif (Talk | Contribs.) 05:45, 25 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Get rid of it, then! --Poopsmith Z 11:36, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fanstuff

What is fanstuff doing on this page? Even if the images are available on H*R, they weren't created by TBC and aren't canonical other costumes. Plus, the fanstuff images already have their own page. — It's dot com 12:05, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

No one has replied to this, even though other comments have been made. I'm going to remove the fanstuff. Talk about it if you disagree. — It's dot com 05:02, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Halloween

I added Homestar in Halloween colors. Should we keep it here or move it to Halloween Costumes? -Lotionman 17:45, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)Lotionman

I think it's fine where it is, unless we start putting other Halloween side-toon costumes on the Halloween page (in addition to this, there's Marshie as a vampire, Homestar in "a costume", and The Sad Kids as the King of Town and a witch. Currently, none of these are on either page.) --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 18:59, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Section Pages

We could just make seperate pages for each thing. – Pertmywert (Talk·Edits) 21:54, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Don't you mean "each character"? The problem is, the characters with a small number of costumes would look silly in their own page, while Strong Bad and Homestar Runner surely deserve their own page. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 04:20, 2 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Great Page

Wow, I didn't even know this existed, I was all set to try and make this very page. But it looks awsome, and has got this way without my intervention, so I think I'll stay out of this one. Just thought I'd ask though, does Mustachioed Homestar Runner count? Thunderbird 05:49, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Cheerleader with cigar

About that costume:

I got the idea about the Blues Brothers from this fun fact in Issue 8:

  • Cheerleader's close-up of her with a hat, moustache, glasses, and a tie is similar to that of the Blues Brothers, though the way she says "yous guys" also directs the reference towards Edward G. Robinson.

Any thoughts about the caption for that costume? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 19:48, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WAY TOO LONG

I wanted to see a new costume at the bottom of the page, but it takes about a minute to load that! Should this page be split so it's not so annoying? - Joshua 16:11, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, this page is getting far too big for its own good. I think the question is, which of these are actual 'other costumes', and which are just, like, clothes. There's a fine line between the two, but it seems perforated in this case. I think there should be a page like this for actual costumes--i.e. dressing as someone or something totally different--and one for just alternate clothing (if we even need to keep that). Like the Strong Bad shots from modeling should be in the Other Clothes section, whereas the Strong Sad lookalikes should remain here in the Other Costumes. --DorianGray
I'm fine with what's okay and what isn't as of right now - I think an Other Clothes page or section is unnessecary. But each character's section should probably have its own page. I mean, we split Character Evolution, so why not this? - Joshua 17:13, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
...Yeah, I'll agree with that too. As long as it gets split up somehow, I don't particularly care about the method used. --DorianGray
Previously, when there were only one or two costumes for each character, the page didn't need the split. But now I'm all for it. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:19, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Next step

Ok, after the split-up, the next thing is to ogrinize it in a chronological order by toon date. This whould be a big tesk and I don't think that I can do it alone. How about one user will take two pages (A big one and a small one) and orginize it? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 09:09, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Possible new page?

I'd like to see a page devoted to "H*R Characters dressed as other H*R characters." Homestar has a section like that on his page, because he does it the most, but other characters have done it too. Technically, this wouldn't cover anything that isn't already on the site somewhere, but it might be cool to have them all on one page, with pictures. Maybe it would be in the "running gags" section instead, I don't know. Specifically, I'd like to see it organised into sections like "Dressed as Homestar:" and then show all the pictures of different characters dressed as Homestar, and so on.

This isn't exactly as unique as some of our other running gags or inside jokes. It doesn't occur frequently, although it's not as significant. I dress like my friends all the time. :) (well, not really, but I act like them. You know what I mean.) teeeffoh! 23:14, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
