From Homestar Runner Wiki
- This article is about the contact page for The Brothers Chaps. For the feature, see Strong Bad Email.
- "Contact" redirects here. For contact information for the characters, see Contacts.
The Email page points visitors to FAQ pages for the Store and the site in general, the former of which also includes email addresses to contact for additional assistance. Prior iterations of the page also contained The Brothers Chaps' email address for general inquiries and/or an email for business inquiries.

[edit] History
[edit] Early iterations
The "email" menu button on the Luau Main Page, created in early 2001, is simply a mailto link to mikechap@mindspring.com. If this is representative of how regular main pages functioned at this time, it would indicate that there was no standalone email page in the earliest days of homestarrunner.com.
Homestar's Yearbook, active from circa 2001-2002, at one point included a hatnote that it could be found "under "EMAIL" off the home pages". It is unknown how long this was the case.
By February 2002, "Email" navigation links had begun to point to a standalone, dedicated page with a Flash file. Its page title read: "The Email menu - "It's not just for email anymore!"" No archives of this version of the page exist; it potentially could have been the "three mailers" layout described below.
[edit] Store support (2003)
Page Title: Email Menu - It's Back to Being Just For Email Again!
Date: June 4, 2003 or earlier
The email page was designed to support the then-current store page. At the center of the page was a form to compose a message "to: the Homestar Runner store". After entering their email address, visitors could choose a subject:
- I haven't received my order!
- I received the wrong stuff!
- I ordered the wrong size/item!
- Other store related questions!
Their email could then be composed in a text field. By default, this read:
Please include your name, address, and, order # and remember to allow about 2-4 weeks for fulfillment and shipping.(erase this stuff and write your own message)
Also included was a field to enter an email address to "sign up for updates" (similar to the functionality of a separate "email updates" page).
At the bottom of the page were more direct mailto contact links:
- The Brothers Chaps (brotherschaps@homestarrunner.com): "email the creators"
- The Business Guy (cascone@homestarrunner.com): "ask about business and wholesale opportunities"
[edit] Streamlined "customer service" link
By June 22, the page had been simplified. Though the update field and contact links remained, the message form was replaced with a "Store Questions" section that directed visitors to the customer service page:
Oh hi. To have all your Homestar store questions
answered, just click HERE
(http://store.yahoo.com/homestarrunner/cusser.html).
Order status? Refunds or exchanges?
Party time? It's all there. We'll take care of you, honest.
A graphic of Homestar's head was positioned alongside this message.
[edit] Three mailers (2004–2015)
Page Title: Email Menu - It's maybe just for email againymore!
Date: February 4, 2004 or earlier
In addition to the two extant addresses, an "Email Us!" letter appeared first in the top left, directing visitors to email The Brothers Chaps at their brotherschaps@homestarrunner.com address. Stylized like a promotional letter, with a visible plastic window and labels promising "YOU ARE ALREADY APPROVED!" and "EMAIL US!", the letter had a single stamp and was not postmarked. The information on the envelope read:
The Brothers Chaps
email the creators
of Homestar, RNR 30307
At this time, the "Homestar store" envelope linked to the customer service page for the Flash Store. When the Homestar Runner store transitioned to the Yahoo Store, the FAQ link redirected to the new customer service page.
[edit] Two mailers (2015–present)
The store link was updated to the Shopify customer service page.
The "Email Us!" envelope to contact the Brothers Chaps was removed in late 2015 resulting in the layout discussed above. The brotherschaps email inbox is no longer monitored; emails sent to the address receive the automated reply:
Hi. This isn't so much of a valid email address no more. Not so much at all.
It's more of a deep dark pit.
A real great deep dark pit. 3br/2ba 1,700sq ft. Wanna make an offer on this pit?
[edit] Easter Eggs
- Clicking on the Strong Bad sticker on the front of the mailbox causes the old header from Strong Bad's Message Bored to pop up.
[edit] Fun Facts
[edit] Remarks
- Clicking the "back" link always leads to Main Page 8.
[edit] Glitches
- The "Store Questions" link results in a "page not found" error. This is because the Shopify store's current customer service page is at a different URL.
[edit] Inside References
- The stickers of Strong Bad's head come from the Strong Bad 404 Error Page.
- "2T2" in the FAQ ZIP Code references the numerical running gag tooty-two.
- Mundelow and Gent Delabor are Thorax Corporation jokes.
- Mr. Delabor seems to live down the street from What's Her Face.
- The stamp is from a deprecated page that let fans sign up to receive emails when the site updated.
- "Againymore" and "Duderonomy" are portmanteaus.
[edit] Real-World References
- "Duderonomy" is a pun on Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Torah and the Bible.
- The stamps on the envelopes all say "Fitty cent".
- 30307 is a ZIP code for the Atlanta, Georgia area.
- There are no valid ZIP codes beginning with "642".
