[edit] Show preview

Hi Kelsey. I'm so pleased that you're contributing here at the wiki. I see that you want to be a graphic designer. I'm a graphic designer, too! I'm actually here at the printing company where I work. What software do you use? Illustrator? Photoshop? InDesign? QuarkXPress? Those are the main ones we have here. Anydangways, I wanted to bring your attention to the "Show preview" button in the editing window. It allows you to see your changes, but doesn't make a new entry in the recent changes list. Take a look at that link real quick and you'll see what I mean. Also, when you want to sign your name, just type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. That will insert your signature and a timestamp, like this: It's dot com 05:00, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Now i'm learning about Paint Shop Pro 9 Homestramy20 04:31, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Oh yeah thanks i'll have to look into that, but I really don't know much about that stuff, you might have to help me a bit. Again, I get confused easily. But thanks for the signiture info! Homestramy20 06:15, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Hmm... It didn't quite work. You should see a link to your user page, like this: Homestramy20. Try typing four tildes again below, and then hit "Show preview". If it works, you'll see a link. Then hit "Save page". — It's dot com

I tried it like 10000000000 times! It won't work... i'll try again Homestaramy20 05:20, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC) nope, still wont work.

Let's go to the sandbox. Click on that link and make an edit. I'll meet you there. — It's dot com 05:25, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

This is frustrating Homestaramy20 05:27, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Got it! Homestramy20 06:12, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

*whew* Well, that was fun. I'm glad we found the problem. If you need any further help, feel free to ask me. Here are some links if you need them:
  • If you need general information, editing tips, or answers to frequently asked questions, check out the help page.
  • Before you do any significant editing, be sure to familiarize yourself with our wiki standards.
  • If you're not sure what you can do to help out, head over to The Stick.
  • If you're looking for more community interaction, you can also register over at our forum.
Also, whenever you make an edit, type a little something in the "Summary" box. It makes it easier to track the changes. See ya 'round! — It's dot com 06:14, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Alright! Thanks Alot! Homestramy20 06:24, 20 Aug 2005 (UTC)

So, any luck on getting an email back? I know its been over 2 months since I posted that, which was my first experience with a talk page, as you could probably tell. Well anyway, I hope you got an email back. -- DBK! 03:23, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Unfortunatley, I did not get any such email back from either of the Brothers Chaps. I guess getting your email answered from them is almost as common as getting your email answered from Strong Bad. Well, maybe not... Homestramy20|Talk 03:26, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Favorite User!

Wow, thanks, Homestramy20. It's really nice to have a friend around the wiki, especially one that will make you one of her favorite users. I'm lucky to know someone who's as nice as you. See you around. — Lapper (talk) 18:04, 22 Sep 2005 (CST)

That's why your one of my favorites ;) Homestramy20|Talk

Not to mention I just noticed how you helped out your friend HomeStar4. That was really thoughtful, and that's more like how the welcoming commitee should act towards each new user. — Lapper (talk) 21:17, 22 Sep 2005 (CST)

Well thank you. It's nice to feel appriciated. You should also come on the chat channel. Not that busy right now. That is, once you're done showering up ! Homestramy20|Talk

I'll try, but I can't make any promises. I mean Strong Bad's relentless toil of "Gross" and "Shut up" are keeping me away. I see if I can make it. — Lapper (talk) 02:48, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Alright. See ya there (maybe) Homestramy20|Talk

[edit] Any ideas?

Hey Homestramy20. I was just wondering if you had any ideas for the new help templates I'm making. More specifically, what did you really want to learn how to do when you became a new user, editing-wise? Thanks a bunch. — Lapper (talk) 19:41, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hmmm.. well, when I was a new user, I wanted to learn how to make sig, but you already have that on your help templates. By the way, good job so far. They look like they are easy to follow. But right now, I can't think of anything. When I do, I'll drop you a line. Homestramy20|Talk 19:45, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. I'm just drawing a blank on what I wanted to know... — Lapper (talk) 19:50, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

All right, check out the newest installment: Help:link! — Lapper (talk) 20:34, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I was just looking at that. It looks really good! Homestramy20|Talk 20:35, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

So then, did we learn something today? Lol — Lapper (talk) 20:40, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yes.. you caught me. I didn't know. But now I do, thanks to you. Thank yahs Homestramy20|Talk 20:41, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

You're very welcome, and thanks a bunch for the input. Though that doesn't mean I've stopped asking. Let me know if you have any more ideas. And that goes for everyone here, all right? — Lapper (talk) 20:44, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I'll let you know if I get any more ideas. Homestramy20|Talk 20:47, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Not here to bust anyone's bubble, but you do know about this page? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 20:48, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, but I think Lapper here is trying to make it easier for the newcomers. The wording is easier to understand. Homestramy20|Talk 20:50, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

She has it right, there, E. L. Cool. Sometime's it's easier to have a summarized verison of a boring topic posted on your talk page, rather than among pages of boring help stuffs. By the way, Homestramy20, kickin' new siggie. — Lapper (talk) 20:52, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thank ya :D Homestramy20|Talk 20:54, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Do whatever you wish, but maybe you should link to both pages, you know. "A quick guide and A detailed guide to editing" maybe? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 20:55, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Oh darn it, Homestramy20. Your talk page link on your sig isn't functional. Just a reminder. — Lapper (talk) 20:56, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yes it does. Just not here, because you're already in my talk page. Homestramy20|Talk 20:57, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Jeez, I must be loosing my mind. I need a break. Where's the pork snagglin's? — Lapper (talk) 20:58, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hehe, well anyways, I think E.L Cool may have a point there. Maybe a link to A detailed guide might be a good idea.

[edit] Oh, it was a typo?

I always assumed your user name was a pun on "Homestarmy" and the name "Amy." Thanks for disillusioning me! :p --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 09:04, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Well... I think it's one of the first lines on my userpage that tells you that my name is Kelsey, but atleast now you know :P Homestramy20|Talk 09:06, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

True, but other people have gone by pseudonyms around here (Homestar Coder used to frequently use the name "Aurora" even though that's not her real name.) --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 09:08, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hmmm... true. But I can assure you, my real name is Kelsey. 'Twas the name given to me at birth! Homestramy20|Talk 09:10, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I had always assumed it was an intentional misspelling until I read your user page; I thought maybe it was supposed to sound like Coach Z or something like that. (I think he says "pratty" instead of "party" somewhere on the website; I could imagine him saying "Homestramy" too.) But, I guess that wasn't what you meant to do. That being said, I still like your name spelled as Homestramy a lot more than I'd like it as Homestarmy. Heimstern Läufer 07:49, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Me too, but you already know that. :) — It's dot com 07:55, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks guys. At first, I didn't favor the misspelling. I was going to originally change it a while ago, but never got to it. And when I did decide to finally do something about it, Dot com talked me out of it ;) (And I have to admit, the name has kind of grown on me too... Plus, I like the idea of H20 as you can obviously tell.) Homestramy20|Talk 16:36, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

the one with the second slash is the one I want.

Yes, but you can't put a second slash there. No one can. It won't turn out to look like your signature. I think it has to do more with how you formatted your sig. Homestramy20|Talk 04:39, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] WoW

Homestramy, you do know that was have one or several WoWs trolling and otherwise vandalizing pages, including redirects to your page, bklmb, arrow'd, and many others? It's happening right now. — Lapper (talk) 02:53, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yep, I am totally aware. I just don't know how to redirect pages, or what not. I don't want to screw anything up. Homestramy20|Talk 02:54, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Lapper, Willy on Wheels is an infamous page-move vandal on wikis across cyberspace. You can read up about him here: HRWiki:Da Basement/Archive 1#WILLY ON WHEELS!BazookaJoe 02:55, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Thank you, BazookaJoe. I did already know what the WoW was, but thank you on the clarification that he is singular. I was simply asking Homestramy20 because his trolling involved her page. — Lapper (talk) 02:58, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

You wanna be a graphics designer? Cool! I do to. I am already a pretty ok flash designer. You can also ask me about computers because I know a fair bit. =) – Pertmywert (Talk·Edits) 20:25, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thanks Perty. Unfortunatly, I can't get flash (not allowed:() But, I plan on learning when ever I get the chance. Although, about the computers part, I know a fair share. Might it be appropriate to update? (I hope your new goals are as altruistic!) —AbdiViklas 01:10, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
That's the point. I don't have any goals anymore. Homestramy20|Talk 01:14, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Forgive me if I'm reading too much into it, but it sounds like you're not having the best time of your life at the moment. For what it's worth, your contributions to the wiki have been beneficial, and while you might not be a sysop yet, it woudn't be a stretch to call you a "well respected user." Goals ain't everything—the present is more important than the future—but sometimes the present's not so hot. —AbdiViklas 01:21, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Well, that's not my problem. If I had the ability to become a very well respected user, then I would probably be so. But, I'm having... personal problems in my life that is kind of effecting that. Some of which are a little too personal to be putting on my talk page. Homestramy20|Talk 01:32, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Maybe I was being to convoluted: I was saying you are a well respected user. And I wasn't suggesting that the Wiki is more important than real life! I just hope whatever you're in clears up for you quickly. And while being "valued" on the Wiki isn't much of a consolation when you've got crap in your life, I'm willing to bet you know people in real life who care too. —AbdiViklas 01:49, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
This is probably confusing for you. But I can't exactly explain it. Not on the wiki anyways :S Homestramy20|Talk 01:54, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Goodness me, of course you shouldn't explain it on the wiki! Being a schoolteacher (or about to be, anyway) I have to deal pretty regularly with symphathetic to students in problems that it's not appropriate or necessary I know about. —AbdiViklas 02:11, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

False alarm! It was just a malfunction with my computer. Soory if I scared you. I was pretty freaked out myself. Sorry again. Homsarroks 20:05, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Cool. And by the way, the great thing about a wiki (well, one of the great things) is that it's impossible for a vandal to truly destroy anything. Since every page has a history, any harm done can simply be reverted with a few clicks. The only urgency is the concern for maintaining a professional, functional knowledge base and not having some newcomer find a bunch of vandalized pages. I don't have a very expert understanding of these computer boxes, but as I understand it the only way someone could truly damage the wiki would be to directly access the server (even then, I would hope it's being backed up somewhere). The worst a vandal can do is force us to expend time and energy in reverting their work, and personally I don't even find that an aggravation; I find it rather exhilerating, after a week of watching people change the paragraph breaks on their user pages. The NSMC vandal was actually the high point of my month!
Now a true troll, on the other hand, can actually cause lasting damage to the fabric of the wiki, since they target an intangible, interpersonal harmony and e-civility. But {cue sappy soundtrack} I think we're well defended against any such attacks by the atmosphere of community we've developed; the fact that we look out for each other and don't tolerate much talking smack. As long as we've got each other, we're troll-proof. —AbdiViklas 23:25, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
AbdiViklas, you and your long, loooong replys. But, you are right. This is somewhat of a community, and it's easy to make close friendships. And we can use these friendships to our advantage, by easily gangin up on those annoying trolls. ;) This just aint a wiki without the endless number of peoples of which contribute in a positive way. Although, all this is pretty obvious. Homestramy20|Talk 00:28, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Animation Sightings

Hey Homestramy20! Great job with cleaning up Animation Sightings. However I do have one question: the entries that you removed from that page, were they just dead links or they were too minor? Just curious. --Stux 01:00, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

They were mostly too minor, but a few were just dead links. It was hard though... I had to read every sentance, no one bothered to spell check after posting them there. That was quite the project. Homestramy20|Talk 01:14, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Oh yeah! I can imagine! I've done a few entries here and there, and actually watching the entire video/animation/comic to double check the fact and make sure that the link is correct. Doing it all at once is quite the feat! --Stux 01:26, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] on IRC

Hi HomeStramy20, I noticed you had to leave rather quickly. I just wanted to make sure that you are ok and everything is ok with you. Yup, I don't blame ya. I still don't understand why they're still there humoring him. (I guess I am too, but just quietly.) Did you get a bandaid? --Stux 03:06, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Eh. Need to go grocery shopping I guess. It's just a little cut though. Homestramy20|Talk
Hmmm I wonder if I'll get sued for using the word bandaid ;). Eh random stuff. Ah little cuts are ok -- but papercuts hurt like heck! I've made mock bandaids out of tape and Kleenex - works for bigger cuts. I feel like a ghetto version of Martha Stuart. So you were going to log off eh? This is starting to look like a recurring theme. Anyway take it easy. --Stux 03:14, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image tags

Glad you're helping me with the image tags. In regards to this question you left in an edit summary: They both fit, but really only the web one is needed. The dvd one is more for shots of stuff only on the DVDs — like the menus or the DVD only puppet jams. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 08:19, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

I still think that we should put the dvd template in it. I mean, they're both from the website and on the DVD. I think we're just better off putting them both on. And this is your project, sorry for skipping into it. Unless you want my help, i'll just finish up this section and leave it. :) Homestramy20|Talk 08:23, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
No, I want the help. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 08:39, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Ok, good (I kind of knew you would say that :)). Homestramy20|Talk 08:41, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Have a good time at your aunt's! See you when you get back! (And, yeah, it's important!) :) — It's dot com 16:20, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. I actually leave tomarrow, but this, right now, is probably gonna be the last chance that I get on here. I have alot of packing and visiting to do... See you next year :D Homestramy20|Talk 22:50, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Happy New Year!

I know it's a little late, I just wanted to wish you a happy new year, and may you forever be happy! Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:39, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Elcool. Same to you. (I know i'm a bit late... but I'm rarely allowed on the computer at my aunts...) Homestramy20|Talk 22:35, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey there

Hey Kels. I noticed you blanked your page and was wondering what's up? :) — It's dot com 03:09, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

As far as I know, she's moving. She won't be able to access the wiki or IRC anymore. Not presuming to speak for her, just saying what I know... She talked of it on IRC. I know we'll all miss her, yeah? --DorianGray
Well, Kelsey, I'm confident you will find a way to return. And when you do, I look forward to hearing from you. :) — It's dot com 03:23, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Thing is, I am moving... And most likely not coming back. Yet, the fact that i'm moving is not why I decided to no longer attend the wiki. Homestramy20|Talk 04:02, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Well good bye for whatever reason! Bassium! m OCE
I wish you'll have fun where ever you're going, but if that is not the reason, then what is? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:19, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Life is scaring me... and I think I should pay more attention to it more than a wiki. Homestramy20|Talk 05:40, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Life is scaring you huh, well then you are to normal, for people like me who're well have probably a different religion than you, don't care I just go through life knowing its going to be alright I'm sure this won't help you but just relax but if your whatever your fearing happenes then nevormind. Bassium! m OCE
Hey Kels, I hope you will have the chance to come back someday. I'm sure we'll all miss you if you don't. But I understand the need to spend time paying attention to life. And I understand life scaring you. It scares me on a regular basis. I hope, though, that you'll learn something through your experience. Anyway, hope I'll talk to you again someday. Heimstern Läufer 05:53, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks for mentioning me on your page, it means alot. I really like talking to you and having fun. Even the more (How should I call it?) serious ones were enjoyable and I sure hope that they helped. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 13:23, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

THE GOOD TIMES ARE (not) OVER!!! Homestramy20|Talk 05:26, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Does that mean no leaving the wiki? Yay for you! (And yay for the wiki.) And by the way, as unpleasant as roller-coaster drama is at the time, it's better than a boring life. I've tried both, and went back to the drama. Whatever was giving you trouble, and/or isn't any more, I'm glad it hasn't put a permanent end to the good times. —AbdiViklas 19:31, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
I just have to apolagize for not hearing about your apparent departure. I had no idea. I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving, but if it means you're going to work harder at life, I wish you all the best. Goodbye H20, keep in touch. Thunderbird 17:56, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Your leaving?! So sad. You really were a humongo help around here. Thanks for all the help around this place. Just one last equation for you: you=totally awexome. teeeffoh! 18:08, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks guys. Homestramy20|Talk 00:05, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

You're leaving??!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- {gasps} -OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO- {gasps.... again} -OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Dolpins

It would be rude of me to not say that in this wiki... you, H20, will be sorely missed. --Stux 03:15, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

People, people. I'm still here. Honestly, I just don't plan on spending hours at a time on here, doing... stuff. This place is oddly addicting. Time to cut back and pay attention to um... life. Homestramy20|Talk 19:59, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Well, that's good. I've seen you around here and there, H20. You're pretty cool. I'm glad to hear you will at least still be on here a little. Keep on tranglin'! Has Matt? (talk) 20:09, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

That's good to know. And seriously, for all my enthusiasm about the wikian utopia, "real life" is more important. Although wiki interractions do affect real lives, real life friendships and collaborations do so more directly. And based on what I can tell of your history here, I'd guess your impact on the real world is also a very good thing. —AbdiViklas 06:59, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Yep. Homestramy20|Talk 03:31, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome

I know it's been a long long long long long long long long long long long time but, thanks for welcoming me. TheThin 17:42, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Even though you probably won't see it...

Homestarmy, I just wanted to say that all of us here at the Homestar Wiki have suffered a great loss with your resignation. You were a great person here on the Wiki. I'm taking the trouble to say this because i feel that I need a sense of closure for myself. I know that all of us here will miss you. May you enjoy yourself, wherever you are. You will be missed.

Your friends,

Lol. I welcomed you. Homestramy20|Talk 03:07, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
I'll always remember the great times in the IRC channel and on the wiki itself. I hope that you'll find places like this wherever life takes you. =( - KookykmanImage:kookysig.gif(t)(c)(r)

Don't you think you should update your page, Homestarmy? Don't want to cause any unneeded grief, now do we? :) Has Matt? (talk) 04:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eggplant pic

So...what led you to upload a picture of an eggplant? Eggplants remind me of Ice Climbers. But I'm sure you have a better reason than that. XD — Seriously (Talk) 21:19, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

It's called fetishisms, my friend. :) Homestramy20|Talk 21:30, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fixes

Hey there. According to the manual of style, apostrophes should go outside the link, so there's no need to make the changes you're doing. This has the added benefit of not requiring a piped link. Also, a lot of the words you're capitalizing should remain lowercase, as they're just common nouns. Talk atcha later. — It's dot com 16:54, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. But I thought you were always suppost to capitalize "Email" when ever it's a Strong Bad Email. Homestramy20|Talk 16:56, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
This is only when it's under the appearances section:
Otherwise, it's "email", lowercase. — Lapper (talk) 17:01, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
You were kind of the person who told me otherwise... Homestramy20|Talk 17:03, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Heh, and then there are people like me who always capitalize "Email", no matter what context. Although I try to remember to follow wiki style when editing here. Heimstern Läufer 17:04, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
I quit
Don't quit. You would also capitalize the exact phrase "Strong Bad Email", since that's a proper noun. — It's dot com 17:06, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah... I've been here for what, 8 months? I still have no idea what the crap i'm doing. :) I'm no "wiki" person. Homestramy20|Talk 17:08, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Wiki people come in all shapes and sizes. Some people add a lot of content, others stick to formatting. There's a lot to do from all kinds of angles. — It's dot com 17:11, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
