Each thing the bot does eventually gets posted on its user page. If I haven't updated the user page yet, then it usually means that the task isn't complete yet. — It's dot com 22:30, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
My apologies. At the time I thought the task was complete and I got a little ahead of myself knowing that a post might be possibility. However, in my opinion, I think it would be advantageous to provide the description before the task at hand is being performed, so that users know the bot is doing at the moment. --Stux 22:39, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

Category organizing

Hey Cheatbot. There are a lot of templates that don't have {{PAGENAME}} in their category. I started to fix a few of those, but then I saw that there were 30-something templates like this. Can you help? Elcool (talk)(contribs) 10:54, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Template:commentary

1, 2, 4— e-mail me more!

Hello TheCheatbot.com, I noticed the edit where you fixed e-mail to email in 'Lectric Boots. I'm wondering if this will happen automatically, even in in-context cases? --Image:Homsariconformysig.gifBroncoTroll 20:31, 4 April 2013 (UTC) Oh, and I expect an answer in binary.

(Sorry this isn't in binary.) Okay, I had The Cheatbot automatically replace "e-mail" with "email" on 142 pages where it was pretty straightforward. (If those edits don't show up in recent changes for you, click on the link to show bots.) There were a few cases where I let it go ahead and make a change in the transcript of the sender's message or where Strong Bad is typing—in those instances, the transcript itself was wrong and needed to be fixed. Feel free to go through each of those edits to verify them. I also made 24 manual corrections where for some reason the whole page didn't need to change or the capitalization needed to be fixed. I listed the exceptions, etc. in the edit summary. Feel free to check those too. I identified the following pages that as of this writing have the string "e-mail" in them but where I did not make any changes.
These pages fall in four main categories:
  1. There is an actual hyphen in the toon transcript.
  2. It's an interview or some other external source where we should assume the hyphens were in the original.
  3. The page contains a link to E-mail Birds or Real-Live E-Mails.
  4. It's a page having to do with Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.
With regard to SBCG4AP, I think it has captions and labels and stuff like that, and the hyphens are part of the game. Unless someone can say that they're definitely not in the game I think we should leave those pages alone. We also need to look over all of the Main Pages. The button on the site has a hyphen, but most if not all of our pages don't. — It's dot com 21:52, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

I think we should make a specific exception for SBCG4AP. For consistency's sake, we should use the hyphen on all its related pages and in lists that refer to it. — It's dot com 22:24, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
