Badminton

• Email labor day — Strong Mad and The Cheat are shown with badminton racquets.
• Email army — Strong Bad and Strong Mad discuss the sport and wonder what the official rules are.
• SBCG4AP Dev Blog — Strong Bad writes in the 10 Jul 2008 entry he's playing badminton.

Baseball

Waiting on Homestar to find his hat.

• Mark Lemke is a commonly referenced baseball player.
• Coach Z is usually seen wearing an unbranded baseball cap.
• A Detroit Tigers baseball cap is worn by Pom Pom and Strong Mad as part of their respective costumes in The House That Gave Sucky Treats and 3 Times Halloween Funjob, respectively.
• Where My Hat Is At? — Homestar Runner looks for his hat so he can play baseball.
• Teen Girl Squad Issue 2 — Thomas repeatedly clubs What's Her Face in the shins with a baseball bat (which hurts her) when she starts fawning for the No "I" In Team Boy.
• Email keep cool — Strong Sad mentions that baseball games are at two, eleven, and three.
• Strongest Man in the World — The Grape Fairie claims he got the golbol in 1974 from Mookie Wilson. Mookie Wilson was a professional baseball player during the 1980s and early 1990s best known for playing for the New York Mets, the team referenced in the golbol Easter egg.
• Email trading cards (DVD Commentary) — Matt mentions that he has a Dwight Gooden rookie trading card. Dwight Gooden is a former MLB player, one of the most dominant and feared pitchers in the National League during the mid-1980s. This leads Matt and Mike to a further discussion about other baseball players, during which they mention such names as Robin Yount and Tony Peña.

Basketball

• Pom Pom, Too — one of the Poms is colored like an ABA basketball, and two of them look like NBA basketballs.
• A Decemberween Pageant — Pom Pom is cast as Kobe #1 and Strong Mad is cast as Kobe #2.
• Strong Bad Character Video — one of his accepted forms of payments is "Denver Nuggets."
• Email new hands — one of the options for Strong Bad's hands is an ABA basketball.
• New Boots — The Cheat draws Strong Bad dribbling and spinning basketballs.
• Email autobiography — Strong Bad supposedly played on a basketball team with "The Deke."
• Email different town — Strong Bad says "Pom Pom wouldn't change at all / 'cept he'd look like an ABA basketball."
• Email secret recipes — Coach Z doesn't appear to know what a basketball is, referring to one as "a bounce thing".
• Halloween Fairstival — Strong Mad dresses as Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons.
• Email bedtime story — Moses Malone is supposedly a buddy of The Cheat.
• Email candy product — Coach Z gets a basketball stuck on his head.

Beach Volleyball

"...They won handily."

• Shopping for Danger — After Gunhaver mentions that Blue Laser will use all their savings to make a button to make it snow at the beach, Silent Rip asks, "What about beach volleyball?", to which Gunhaver responds "There won't be anymore beach volleyball!"
• An Important Rap Song — Part of the lyrics go "Beach volleyball slammajamma" and are accompanied by Silent Rip and Firebert playing beach volleyball against Blue Laser Commander and a minion at the Beach.
• Somber Vacation — Strong Sad plays beach volleyball with pieces of algae-covered chunks of styrofoam coolers that he adds googley eyes and pipe cleaners to.

Bowling

• Main Page 4 — This Main Page takes place in a bowling alley.
• Labor Dabor — The Cheat makes some bowling animations.
• Email mini-golf — One of the "fun-time emporiums" that Strong Bad mentions is called "Kosmik Bowling".

Competitive Swimming

• Email other days — Strong Sad mentions that they will be late for swim practice (although earlier in the e-mail Strong Bad denies that he goes to swim practice).

Football

TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!

• Coach Z's old timey counterpart is a football player named "Fort Wayne Locomotive."
• The House That Gave Sucky Treats — Strong Mad's costume is William "Refrigerator" Perry, a famous football player from the 1980s.
• Email island — The message inside the bottle is really a flyer for Super Bowl XIX. In an Easter egg, one pair of hallucinations that Strong Bad and Homestar have of each other are of the helmets worn by the two teams in said Super Bowl: the San Francisco 49ers (Homestar's hallucination of Strong Bad) and the Miami Dolphins (Strong Bad's hallucination of Homestar).
• Superbowl Dealie — The entire toon is about annual professional football championship.
• Email caffeine — Strong Sad claims while hyper, "I don't even watch football! I don't even watch football!"
• Email crying — Strong Bad "quotes" Li'l Brudder as saying "I'm gonna be a quarterback when I grow up. I'm gonna throw for 2,000 yards."
• Senorial Day — Senor Cardgage and Strong Bad "play catch" with a football.
• Email high school — "Middle School" Coach Z dreams of being "craptain of the foortball torm".
• KOT's VOQPCS! — The King of Town's scheme to get the Poopsmith to smell better somehow involves a game of football.
• Ever and More! — Strong Mad's helmet is a football helmet, with an image of a nacho on the side.
• Everything Else, Volume 3 — On the Holidays menu, one of the powerups The Cheat collects is a football.
• Toikey TV — Strong Mad, Strong Bad, and The Cheat wind up watching the 2007 Falling Asleep On The Couch Watching Football Bowl.
• Sloshybowl — Strong Sad watches sloshy on the Superbowl half-time show.
• 4 Gregs — The Gregs go to a football game, and D n' D Greg explains how the game is played

Soccer referred to as Football

• Email little questions — The sender asks "Has you some time play football?" and Strong Bad answers by saying that he loves football (referring to American football).
• The System Is Down — Strong Bad shouts "football!", a reference to a soccer song.

Golf

Is it golf?

• Email mascot — The Cheat uses a golf club to hit things on the CGNU Golf Club Team.
• Email the paper — The Paper has the word "golf" visible under its polo shirt during its preppy phase.
• Email mini-golf — The entire email is concerned with the miniature version.

Hockey

• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2 — Homestar, pretending to be Coach Z, asks Marzipan why she missed field hockey practice.
• Superbowl Dealie — Homestar shows up in a Boston Bruins jersey.

Ice-Skating

• Theme Song Video — One of the scenes consists of Homestar skating.
• Email rock opera — An Easter egg consists of a scene from the ice show Dangeresque: Put 'Em on Ice.
• Happy Dethemberween — One scene consists of the Thnikkaman skating.

Lacrosse

• Kick-A-Ball — Coach Z claims to be playing women's lacrosse.
• Email videography — Strong Bad pretends to videotape a lacrosse match.

Martial Arts

The Champeenship

• Theme Song Video — Pom Pom is seen practicing martial arts.
• Email pom pom — Pom Pom manages to "beat the everloving snot" out of Strong Bad.
• Email montage — Homestar participates in the "Champeenship," which seems to be a judo/karate type tournament.
• Summer Short Shorts — Pom Pom is seen wielding a bo and performing impressive acrobatics in one of the segments.

Soccer

• Email little questions — Strong Bad mentions that he hates soccer.
• Email ghosts — Strong Bad tells the ghost of the Tandy "The Cheat has soccer practice."
• Email caffeine — Hyperactive Strong Sad asks Coach Z if he wants to play some soccer.
• Happy Hallow-day — Bubs is dressed as Coach McGuirk, the soccer coach in the television series Home Movies.
• Sloshybowl — sloshy say they played soccer in high school and Strong Sad is hit by a soccer ball at the end.
• Strong Badia the Free — At the Homsar Reservation, before being enlightened to Homsar's way, he says, in response to Strong Bad trying to speak like him, "Sign me up for soccer class, Debra!"
• 2 Part Episode: Part 1 — The Blue Laser Minions appear on a soccer field and imply that they were at soccer practice.

Tennis

"That ball was on the line!"

• John McEnroe is a commonly referenced tennis player.
• Email flashback — Strong Bad and Coach Z play tennis on the moon.
• Senorial Day — Bubs holds a tennis racquet and has a John McEnroe wig on.
• Decemberween Short Shorts — Strong Bad admits he likes tennis player Martina Navratilova.
• Email the paper — During The Paper's preppy phase, it is seen wearing a sweater with the word "tennis".

• Email autobiography — The King of Town is seen "running".
• Email disconnected — "Head Bad" attempts to beat Homestar in a race, only to find that Homestar didn't enter.

Racquetball

• Email dangeresque 3 — Homestar and Strong Bad are seen playing racquetball in the Basement.
• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 14.2 — Strong Sad mentions slow-pitch racquetball.

Kickball

"Meh!"

• Theme Song Video — Strong Bad rolls a kickball to Homestar and he kicks it.
• Kick-A-Ball — The whole cartoon is about the characters playing kickball.

Fantasy Sports

• Teen Girl Squad Issue 4 (commentary) — After Mike mentions that he wouldn't mind making a Growlbacks shirt, Matt jokingly says "It could be a fantasy football team!"
• Email from work (Easter egg) — A Dullard comic mentions fantasy foosball.
• 4 Gregs — D n' D Greg claims to be an expert at fantasy football.

Invented Sports

• In Search of the Yello Dello — A strange sport with a football being thrown on the same field as a basketball net being used simultaneously is played. Strong Bad comments on it in the commentary, and Homestar replies that it is America's pastime.
• Email 1 step ahead — The viewer is allowed to play a new sport: the Peg Strong Sad game.
• Email mascot — The Cheat is the head of the "Golf-Club Team" of Crazy Go Nuts University. The "sport" he plays is beating the opposing "team" with a golf-club.
• Email theme park — Homsar says it is time for "tasteball". How tasteball is to be interpreted is a mystery, though by its name it seems to be a sport of some kind.
• Email the paper — Homestar and Homsar play Strong Bad and The Paper in what appears to be basketball, but played with an American football.
• Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 14.2 — Coach Z reminds Marzipan of upcoming "shin" tryouts. The sport apparently involves shin-guards, shin-pads, shin-protectors, and shin-balls. Presumably, the sport is played with one's shins.
