[edit] Using Show Preview

Hello TMBGLOVER, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep recent changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, --DorianGray 14:50, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Not to jump down your throat but you did it again! Don't worry though, with practice in using the "show preview" button you too can edit like the greats! -Not One of the Greats

[edit] Recent removal of information

Hey TMBGLOVER, I just wanted to let you know that certain information has been removed from your page by an administrator because of our policies about keeping our younger users safe online. Pay attention to that so that you know what you're permitted to share on your page, and what you should leave out. Thanks for understanding, and welcome! The Knights Who Say Ni 04:31, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Cool! It’s nice to know that people on here care about the kids in the fanbase. Thanks! TMBGLOVER 13:35, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Forum login

Whenever I try to log into the forum, it says something dumb about “a incorrect username” even though I use the same username I use on here. So how’s about that? TMBGLOVER 21:12, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

I created an account for you on the forum just now using the same username and email address associated with your wiki account. You or your parent/guardian should check that email address for further instructions. Be sure you have your parent/guardian's permission before accessing the wiki or the forum. — It's dot com 21:27, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
Nahh, that’s my mom’s email. She said she’s fine with me using it for wiki accounts and stuff. Also, WHAT THE HECK IS THE PASSWORD!?TMBGLOVER 21:33, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
The email should have all the instructions for you. — It's dot com 21:38, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
I don't have access to the email you're seeing. I dunno what to tell ya other than to keep try. Perhaps a parent or older sibling could help you figure it out. — It's dot com 22:06, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Adding descriptions

Hi TMBGLOVER. Thanks for your enthusiasm in the descriptions project, but you still do not have the clear to start adding them to toon articles. — It's dot com 17:06, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Oh, sorry, this was a misunderstanding. I saw them added to emails 1-44 and thought this meant that we had started adding them. Sorry and have a good day. TMBGLOVER 19:50, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Dude, you need to chill. If a description has been on a page for a while, then just leave it be. You don't need to add them or remove them from any pages right now. — It's dot com 01:00, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
Well, you said “you do not have the clear to start adding these” so I was just following what you said. Sorry! P.S: the links for the content of the day are broke. TMBGLOVER 16:10, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
My telling you not to add them is not quite the same as telling you to remove them. What I'm trying to avoid right now is a bunch of unnecessary edits. Really, though, I might not have said anything if you weren't shouting at other users in your edit summary. Please don't shout. Thanks for the heads up on the broken links. — It's dot com 18:58, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Disruption warning

You have asked about installing Ruffle three times, one of which was on a random user's talk page. You have been replied to. While it's definitely something we will look into, and while I'm sorry you can't currently watch the mirrored toons on your phone, it's not a high priority at present. Impatiently spamming this or any other request to multiple pages is considered disruption, and if you continue you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Most everybody around here has a day job and sometimes things don't get done as fast as we'd like. Keep your pants on. For real. — It's dot com 18:50, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Ok, I’m sorry, I will shut my mouth about this. TMBGLOVER 21:51, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
You're still being rather pushy, like how you insisted it's time to take down the Halloween decorations. Our Halloween decorations haven't come down this early in November since before you were born. The last few years it's been much later. How about you edit for more than two months before you start telling us how to run our wiki. — It's dot com 18:06, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Goodbye.

Guys, I’m leaving this wiki at exactly 5:00 PM MDT tonight. Why? Because I didn’t get into the Fan Stumes. You see, all my friends moved away. When I discovered HR, It felt like I finally saw something that understood me, my humour, and my interests. I wanted to get into the Fan Stumes because why wouldn’t I? But now, it just proves one thing. No one in the world gives a crap about me. All my friends moved away, and my fav cartoon creators, The Brothers Chaps, don’t care about my costume. No one, even in Free Country, my happy place, even cares. Goodbye everyone. I’ll see you… like heck I will. (If anyone has any reasons why I should still like HR, please tell me.) TMBGLOVER 15:18, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

I know it's no fun having your friends move away and it must have stung not to be included in the Fan 'Stumes. So, I'm sorry about that. If you want, you can upload your costume and post it here on your user page if your face is not recognizable (you may not post your face here until you're at least 13). Hang in there. — It's dot com 16:35, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
I just… wish that I could have been in it. It would prove I was a person worth SOMETHING in this world, from two people I admire. But… now… what’s the point. TMBGLOVER 17:28, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
Lots of people dress up. They just didn't have room for everyone this year because it's incredibly popular. Chin up and start getting ready for next year. -- 18:04, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
My point illustrated: someone dressed up as a freaking WALL. A WALL, FROM ONE TOON. THAT… WAS WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS MORE IMPORTANT THEN MY STRONG BAD COSTUME. TMBGLOVER 18:10, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
For what it's worth, the Brothers Chaps don't have anything unique to say about most of the hundreds of Strong Bad costumes they get each year, but that doesn't mean they don't care about them. They chose to feature a wall just because they had something to say about it, not because it was more important. I didn't make it into the Fan Costumes in 2008, but I still cared about Homestar Runner; not because of what the creators thought, but because of what I thought. I won't convince you to stick around if you don't want to, but if you were correct that no one in the world gives a crap about you, no one else would've contributed to this discussion. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 00:29, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
yeah, I’m staying. I found I still love Homestar. I just felt a tad disappointed earlier. TMBGLOVER 00:30, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
If it's any consolation, I didn't get in in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 (which are all great years I have been a fan), but there is still hope, as Homestar will probably go on until the sun burns out and they will be making Fan 'Stumes every year until then. Don't give up, ----J∃ffJMan 23:14, 6 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit] add me?

I make music on Bandcamp, and I did a cover of Strong Badia National Anthem. Is it OK to add myself to musical sightings? TMBGLOVER 22:43, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Ok, guessing no. TMBGLOVER 23:51, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

I'm guessing you'd have to be a certain amount of famous to make it on there, or at least have played live to an audience of over 30 people. You could still post it on your userpage (which I'm assuming you did) ----J∃ffJMan 12:16, 6 February 2023 (UTC)

[edit] I need some real help.

That’s it. I need somebody on this wiki to help me. You see, back in 2022, r/place happened for a second time on Reddit. I met a really nice user on there. We shared a lot of interests, music wise. But, however, 4 days ago I got permanently banned from Reddit. And I never got to tell my friend goodbye. I was wondering if any wiki user could help me with this. Because.. even though this isn’t exactly Homestar-related, I’d still like getting to say goodbye, even if it was through a multiple person channel. TMBGLOVER 14:38, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

I’m taking it that no one cares that one of the only people who really “understood” me is in the dark with no way for me to ever talk to her again. TMBGLOVER 17:05, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

I wish someone would help me with this. TMBGLOVER 18:08, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

According to your discussion here, you've already created a new Reddit account. Why not use that to talk to them? Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 21:41, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Because my IP got permanently banned, and it won’t let me log in. So I feel like I need somebody to pass on this idea where we create a shared Bandcamp album where we’ll send little audio clips of talking and responding to keep in touch. I know this is a wiki for dumb animal characters, but this is the only other place I feel that there’s some people who will listen and help. TMBGLOVER 21:46, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
I can't help without more information. What's her username? What was yours? Also, I'd recommend finding something other than the wiki and Bandcamp if you really want to keep contact with friends online. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:08, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
her's was u/FloridaFlamingoGirl, and my old one was TMBGLOVER. Forgot my password though. TMBGLOVER 22:19, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
I guess I’ll just keep on being sad. I feel like garbage, and all because I wanted to see my friend again… TMBGLOVER 23:19, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Block warning. This is not the place to ask for help on that issue, and you have continued to harass other users about it even after they asked you to stop. This is your final warning before you are blocked for disruption. — It's dot com 00:14, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

Ok, ok, ok. I can wait it out! I can handle never getting to talk to her again! I’ll stop… TMBGLOVER 00:18, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

I recognize that name. She was on the wiki, methinks or maybe the TMBW. bring it there. ----J∃ffJMan 12:25, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

I also got banned from TMBW because apparently trying to get a creepy user who stalks John Linnell banned isn't "ok". TMBGLOVER 14:56, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
I'm sorry about what happened. I know it's heartbreaking to be banned from a website you like to frequent and lose contact with a friend. However, while I can't help you in that department, I'd like to say that the people you meet online are not necessarily your only friends. Take some time to do something enjoyable off-line for a while. And don't panic. It may be sad, but there are better ways to handle the situation. If you remain calm, you'll think of something. -- 00:53, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Well, she kinda was my only friend. It’s hard to make friends for me. That makes it sting even harder. But thanks, that made me feel a little better. TMBGLOVER 16:17, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
they're your only friends (they're not your only friends) but they are little glowing friends (but really they're not actually your friends) but they are -- 12:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
There’s a picture opposite me, of my primitive ancestry, which stood on rocky shores and kept the beaches shipwreck free! TMBGLOVER 14:43, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

[edit] Gfdgsgxdzgdrc's prank

Hey TMBGLOVER, I just thought of something! Gfdgsgxdzgdrc didn't specify that it was the page for the only girl character. All they said was on the only girl's page. If you still are not getting it, just think of the caper email. — HoveringSombrero (talk)

can you be more specific? I know it’s gonna be a super obscure reference that an autistic kid with H*R as one of his special interests is gonna be kicking himself later for not realizing though. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 22:09, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
Homestar happens to have this very special lamp that SB and The Cheat broke in that email. That's as much as I can give away without actually giving it away. — HoveringSombrero (talk)
Look, dude, I tried. I tried every possible URL with “tall”, “cowlamp”, and “10” as I possibly could. Every time, a 404. I got the riddle, I just need a URL, which I have tried to come up with. If you don’t wanna give it away, that’s totally OK, and I’ll just.. keep trying to figure it out myself. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 14:11, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
Look for the eighteenth word on this page. Also, you should change your timezone to match the standard wiki time, just for the hour the article was made thing. Keep on tranglin'! — HoveringSombrero (talk)
Oh thanks dude! I never realized that my Alberta timezone might be completely different for some reason! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 14:24, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
IT. STILL. RETURNS. A 404. Man, Gfdgsgxdzgdrc is a good riddler. I cannot figure out what this dang URL is after about 7 consecutive variations. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 14:28, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
What URL did you enter? — HoveringSombrero (talk)
“lampshade10” and “10lampshade”. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 16:10, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
10 isn't the right number. I believe lampshade comes first. I think I know what your praeblem is: you are using a 12-hour clock. Switch to a 24-hour clock and you should be good. And best of luck to you. — HoveringSombrero (talk)
Look, can you just give me the URL? I am sick of trying to figure this out and it being wrong everytime. Gfdgsgxdzgdrc usually makes fun pranks, but this is way too hard and annoying. Reddit did something too hard and annoying, and now Gfd did something too hard and annoying. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 16:38, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
Alright, fine. Clickity-click here. But be warned, I am stuck at this part as well. — HoveringSombrero (talk)
Wait, the answer was "lampshade"? I was typing "cowlamp"! So, I typed in "lampshade22" and got the next clue. Now I'm looking in the Sandbox for the images mentioned in the random asset generator that Gfd placed there. The brains are image number 41. Image number 16 is a chair. I still don't understand what Gfd is asking me to type here. I typed "MIIsBJ941" (the url of image 16 plus the number 41), but that's not the right answer. "chair41" got me to a defunct site that sells jewelry. -- 17:09, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
I wonder if “The numerical label of this flash object” is referring to “sky2”, a.k.a the file name for the sky asset. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 18:44, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
Apologies, it's difficult to write clues that balance clarity with crypticism, in addition to rhyming (which was obviously the most important part). But I'm glad you all seen to be enjoying it enough to keep trying! I will say, anonny's on the right track with "chair41"... but note that it mentions the label of the brain Flash object, not of the image. (In other words, a decompiler may be needed.) Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:03, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
OK! I have one on my laptop, so I’ll download some Halloween toons (brain = Halloween in my brain) and decompile em. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 22:25, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
I think the toon you need to download is Commandos in the Classroom. — HoveringSombrero (talk)
Just to keep this moving along... you might want to take a look at Homestarloween Party. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 01:33, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
So, I found the brain object, but now I need to figure out how to add "382" with "chair41" correctly. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 20:59, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
I typed in "chair382" (with the number 382 replacing 41). I got the third part, but the truth is I'm completely stumped here. I think it has something to do with the Decemberweenvent Calendar because sheet music is mentioned, but I don't know which talk page to look for and have no idea how to determine how many bytes a HRWiki page has, or if it's been edited since this whole thing started. -- 21:58, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
Try searching "syllables" in the Talk namespace, or "notation" in the File namespace. And something on Special:SpecialPages should help with that last thing. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 03:56, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
So, I looked up “notation” in the file namespace (thought a file would be easier to find) and two results came up. Now we need to figure out which one would be a part of the answer. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 14:36, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
So, now we need to figure out what side of the talk page debate over Feed The Childrens is right. Gosh, why is this so hard. First it was confusing, and now he wants us to figure out what the right answer is to an 18 year debate! Nothing against you, Gfdgsgxgzgdrc, but this is really freaking hard. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 21:52, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
Alright, I need some serious help. I really wanna finish this, because I’ve been trying for 20 days. So, any leads? I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 22:30, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
Read the hint again, it'll tell you what to do next. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 23:49, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
TMBGLOVER - That part was insane. The sheet music and the talk page debate bit was right; just put them together. Now, how are you at multiplying three-digit numbers in your head? The Knights Who Say Ni 04:16, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Hint: there is a column labeled "Dimensions" under "File history". Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 07:08, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
The image is 317 * 109 pixels. Multiplied, that's 34553. Using Special:Shortpages, I found a page that is exactly 34554 bytes, Store Front Page News 2008. Then, I removed everything except the consonants from the first sentence on the page and typed it in. This got me to an image of a page history with an arrow pointing up and the first letter of several usernames highlighted. What, exactly, am I supposed to make of that? -- 13:43, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Okay. Using timestamps, I figured out that the image is the history log for the page F-Sack. Two of the usernames in the image are blurred, but accessing the history page revealed them to me. I typed in the highlighted letters from the bottom up and got the fifth clue. These things are getting increasingly complicated. What, is this the HRWiki Database Wizard test? -- 13:52, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
OK, FIFTH CLUE! If someone hands me the link, I’d like to see it! *Strong Bad voice* We might just be able to finish this freakin mystery! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 15:49, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Well, it’s May 1, and I really want to finish this. I’m not great at tech, or counting bytes, or any really tough tech stuff. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 15:46, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Anonny 68 wrote out how to get to the fifth clue above. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:04, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Don't ask me how to proceed after that. Once again, I'm stuck because I don't understand what the clue is asking me to look for. I know what disambiguation pages are, but there's a lot of them, and I don't know if the clue is referring to a specific one of them. And I know what orphaned pages are, but I don't know if that's what the clue is asking for. -- 00:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
I got that part by brute force. I was able to figure out the word, but I just had to start at 1 and type numbers up until one worked. Then comes the tricky part.
I think I left a clue in a recent edit summary that Gfdgsgxgzgdrc will understand as to how far I am. And I know what the part before the single slash on the last line of the page after that translates to, but I don't know why, and I'm guessing I'll need to know why to figure out what the remainder of the line translates to. The Knights Who Say Ni 02:12, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
Here's the link. I am stuck on this one, and so is Mr. IP (which I assume stands for "Internet Person" Address. — HoveringSombrero (talk) 17:52, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
WHAT THE HECK IS THIS QUESTION!? This quest almost ensures you need to have a INSANE understanding of coding and wiki stuff, which is something not a lot of people except the admins have! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 13:59, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
HOLD ON!!! I THINK I FIGURED SOME OF IT OUT!!! I went to the The Only Girl page and clicked on the first interwiki link, which was Marzipan. The first interwiki link on that page was Characters. The first (I ignored the disambiguation template) interwiki link on that page was Homestar Runner (body of work). The first interwiki link on THAT page (again, ignoring the disambig) was Flash. The first interwiki link on that page was The Brothers Chaps. The first interwiki link on that page is Mike Chapman. The first interwiki link on that page is The Brothers Chaps. That's the loop between one man (Mike) and a small group (TBC). So I got the first part figured out. I don't know what the last two lines are about though. — HoveringSombrero (talk) 15:56, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
A ribbon
That much is correct. Have a ribbon. Now, what template is on the page of the man you have named? (I still have no idea how to properly solve the last line.) The Knights Who Say Ni 03:44, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
The only template on the Mike Chapman page is (sectionstub). I tacked on one-digit numbers until I got to an image of Homestar dancing with Marzipan at the senior prom (the sixth clue). Because the image has redacted the page where the image is linked to, I looked into the gallery of all of HRWiki's images, sorted by the date it was uploaded, and found that it's on the page Women and Men. Combine that page name with the redacted number, and I got to the seventh clue, which links to four different images. I chose the first, since the others weren't helpful. This is an image showing a list of holiday toons with two titles blurred out. Using educated guesses, I figured one was Rotten Eggs and the second was Decemberween in July. That led me to the last clue. There's a URL at the bottom but the letters are scrambled; I don't know how to decode it properly.
Number two: Hey, I am no "Mr" IP, okay? -- 04:14, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
GUYS! It’s a Vigenere Cipher code! There’s a key (a word you use to decode it) and you have to use a giant chart with 26 columns and letters! I’m a little rusty since my time decoding every cipher in Gravity Falls, but we need to use a Vigenere Cipher! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 19:08, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
I figured it was something like that; I could tell it was a rotating code, although I would have said "something like an Enigma code". But, that gave me enough to solve the final clue. And it was considerably easier than an Enigma code. The final step is to figure out what the key is, which I had to reverse-engineer. The Knights Who Say Ni 20:49, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Nice!! Man, Gfdgsxgzgdrc really went all out! — HoveringSombrero (talk) 20:56, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
What, is that like "write down every letter in the alphabet, put a word or phrase in the front, and let the remaining letters fall on the end"? I tried that. But I don't know any URLs that begin with three of the same letter, or end with a double letter, even assuming it's a tinyurl. Unless your code maps more than one character to the same letter at different times. -- 23:42, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
That's already been done on the Wikipedia page about Vigenère Ciphers. And since you've been so intent on giving away the solutions rather than just providing hints that will help people figure it out for themselves, I can at least give away, I still can't. However, Gfdgsgxgzgdrc has used a certain web address to start every link, and this one is no different. Knowing [what the first half of the last line translated to] helped me to reverse-engineer the key using the grid on the Wikipedia page I linked. Although it tripped me up a few times trying to remember which direction I was trying to read the grid. The Knights Who Say Ni 00:18, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
That web address you mention is most definitely tinyurl. So, maybe—OHHH I think I know what to do! I need a pen and paper…or at least the Notes app on my phone! — HoveringSombrero (talk) 03:21, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
Does anyone know what the key is? I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 15:27, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
My guess is TINYURL. — HoveringSombrero (talk) 15:36, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
Here is a chart to help solve this: — HoveringSombrero (talk) 15:51, 6 May 2023 (UTC)

By using it, the first bit I’ve decoded is https://pxg . I don’t think that’s correct. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 15:53, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
You may be onto something with the https:// part. I assume that after that is, so we just need to figure out the stuff after that. — HoveringSombrero (talk) 16:38, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
(Edit conflict'd) Actually, I already wrote the key, but I didn't say where I was writing it. And that chart is the same as the grid on the Wikipedia page I linked. The Knights Who Say Ni 16:45, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
I absolutely hate doing this prank, but I decoded the first bit of the stuff after “tinyurl”. It’s Qcri. I dunno if that’s correct, but that’s the first bit of the cipher I’ve decoded. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 15:34, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
One more bit of information: once you figure out the key, you won't be starting at the beginning if you start after the single slash. The Knights Who Say Ni 21:06, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
I didn't actually expect anyone to decode it this way... If you want to find the key more easily, try reading the clue again. Aside from that, I'm debating whether I should tell you something else that would make the deciphering process even easier... but for now I'll let you figure that out on your own. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc - I already finished, and I have to say I was a little disappointed with the end result. As for reverse-engineering, I couldn't figure out what the clue meant. I wasn't sure if it referred to your user page, or the first clue, or where we could have figured out the final step. And I still don't know what you meant by orphans a month before M.Z. Pan. Look, can someone just link the end? It’s been 1 month and 6 days since this whole clusterfrick started. It’s too hard, too complicated, I’m just done. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 22:29, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
You're almost there! Here, I'll link this and this instead. Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 22:43, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
I can’t understand how the decoding website works. It’s like you type in the thing, with the key, and then it just brings up a bunch of random letters. It makes no sense. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 22:56, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
Go to Gfd's userpage link. There is a key written in the brackets at the end. Then, go to the website. Type the scrambled URL into the top box and type the key into the box that says "knowing the key". Click "decrypt". An unscrambled URL should come right out. -- 23:12, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
And I've been able to sneak the key into this thread twice without it being detected. Although Gfdgsgxgzgdrc has linked how to find it by now. The Knights Who Say Ni 23:21, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
Well, even using the key “THEFINALSTEP” it still comes out as a random jumble of letters that is absolutely NOWHERE near an actual URL. I dunno if it’s broken, but it won’t work and it looks like it tries to but fails to make something comprehensible. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 23:30, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

Are you starting with aaxua? The Knights Who Say Ni 23:44, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

Don't press "Automatic Decryption". Press the "decrypt" button below it so the website will use the key you provided. -- 23:47, 7 May 2023 (UTC)
WELL, YET AGAIN, they all come out as “ stshe://dearoli.nol/ltopenyopprossolethe” even with using the “decrypt” button. I’m telling you, this website is busted! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 13:53, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
I have reached the end!!!! This was insane, and also fun. Was it worth the end result? Ehhh, prolly not but still. — HoveringSombrero (talk) 17:39, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
HOW!? This website doesn’t work! HOW DOES THE WEBSITE WORK!? It never comes up with a result that’s even REMOTELY close to something comprehensible! I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 20:06, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
Underneath "VIGENERE CYPHERTEXT," enter the URL. Select "Knowing the key/password" and beside it, enter "THEFINALSTEP" and then click "Decrypt." — HoveringSombrero (talk) 20:53, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN DOING!! How you guys are getting something comprehensible out of this besides “random jumble of letters” with a key of “AHWHZIYGYUSYG” is weird. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 20:56, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
We've made the instructions very, very clear. We don't know what you're doing incorrectly.
1. Paste the text aaxua://giyqnva.vvq/yprtcmxyhxytforpcsgo in the box labeled "Vigenere Ciphertext".
2. Under "Decryption Method", type THEFINALSTEP into the box that says "Knowing the key/password".
3. Click the icon that says "►Decrypt".
4. On the left side of the page is a column that says "results". There should be only one result.
5. -- 21:08, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
I got it, and, really dissapointing. I had to do all that for a “there is no prank” joke!? I’m ticked off. I wanna be the TMBGLOVER too! 23:33, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

Yep, that's the prank! (In all seriousness, here's the real prize for TMBGLOVER, HoveringSombrero, and Knights. Anonny too, if they ever make a userpage. Congratulations!)

I want to say I made it too hard, but honestly, the fact that DEIDATVM solved the whole thing on his own within the first day makes me feel slightly more validated about the difficulty (even if there are still some things I think I should have made clearer). So, I guess I just feel like I should've added some sort of terms and conditions: "By participating in the userpage hunt, you hereby agree to quit if you are feeling annoyed, and acknowledge that this is meant to be a fun little thing that doesn't really matter and isn't worth anyone's frustration. No one is forcing you to do it, or necessarily promising anything rewarding at the end." Sorry about all that... I hope you still found some enjoyment in it! Gfdgsgxgzgdrc 01:12, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

I quit day one if it's any consolation. ----J∃ffJMan 11:54, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
