How is this list different from the Toons list? The Wiki is not a database no matter how much you try to make it one. - Drhaggis 19:25, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)
Maybe it's just a different way to look at the toons? --Southpaw018 19:56, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)
It also has all the toons that aren't listed in the Holiday Toons Menu. Things like the Halloween Answering Machine, the Homestar Vs Little Girl 2, things that SHOULD be Holiday, but are listed somewhere else. This was just a rough list, if anyone wants to maybe find a way of organizing this page, Puppet Stuff, and Powered by The Cheat In similar fashions of each other, (not neccisarrily this way, this is just a rough list) feel free to do so. But basically the main purposes of the three pages are to list additional toons that SHOULD be in that catergory, but are not. like Homestar Runner Vs Little Girl 1, It's in the holiday, when it could be in Puppet Stuff as well. And Labor Dabor being in Puppet Stuff, when it's got a bit of Powered By The Cheat in it. That's how it's different from the Toons list. I dunno. I just made this page as a list, How it's organized along with the other two are up to the Wiki. Any Volunteers? -- Thunderbird 20:14, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)
Thanksgiving
Although Happy T and colonization may look like seperate Holidays, they were added right around Thanksgiving of their respective years, they're clearly related, I think it's fair to say that they are one and the same. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 19:23, 27 Mar 2005 (MST)
Birthdays, Among Others...
Why does everybody keep deleting random stuff on this page, and shuffling it all around, without giving a reason/discussion on this page? Namely for deleting all the birthday refferances, including the one towards Cheatday. But why is a 'minor holidays' page needed just for the three of them? The reason I added them to their own catergories was to make a timeline of holidays throughout the year, which is incomplete when just three holidays are thrown at the bottom. Is the general feeling that this is the incorrect way to go, or is it just a few? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 00:20, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
- Trogga kept deleting the stuff, and I kept putting it back. The discussion is on Trogga's talk page. Aurora the Homestar Coder 00:29, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
I see that there's a reference to Strong Bad's statement that he doesn't want to turn 150, which could be interpereted as a birthday reference in normal conversation, but I think that in this case it's not connected to his real birthday and shouldn't be included as a "Holiday Toon"Vash Lupin VI
Minor Holidays
Why do certain people keep moving a select few holidays to 'minor holidays'? My argument is that besides messing up the chronological lineage, they aren't even minor holidays. It's simply a point of view. Holidays like New Years, it doesn't have it's own toon. Mother's Day does. So which one is minor? In my opinion, neither. Anyone else have a point of view they would like to share? ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 23:36, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Halloween emails
The email halloweener is already in the Halloween list. Shouldn't ghosts be, too? They were both released on October 31. — It's dot com 18:19, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Pumpkin Stencils
If we have Happy T, I don't see why we can't have pumpkin stencils. Unless anyone objects... ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 01:10, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- I didn't notice that it was already there in 2004. I merged the two occurances, hopefully that satisfies everybody. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 01:12, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
This year's Halloween toon
I wonder when this one is coming out, and what everybody will be dressed as this year. Anyone else looking forward to this one? --ISlayedTheKerrek 19:05, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think its safe to say that these are a favorite for H*R fans and we'll all be waiting to see their costumes. I R F 19:14, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- And I'd also bet 50p that there'll be at least one mention of Witches' Brew as well. --DorianGray
Decemberween
I'm fairly certain that this is also a dig at how Christmas celebrations tend to creep up earlier and earlier as shops gear up for last-minute buyers.

Page Title
Though I originally started this page as "Holiday Toons", in reference to how it's labled in the Toons menu, it has really evolved to be a list of all "Holiday References", or probably just "Holidays". So I'll throw it out here, anybody think it should be moved, or stay as is? I like how it fits with Puppet Stuff, Powered By The Cheat, in that they're all mainly a list of every instance of that particular style, whether it's listed in the menu or not. The only problem is that this page has the addional "Toons" word. ⇔Thunderbird⇔ 02:40, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm fine with just Holidays. Bluebry 02:46, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
I am ANGRY
They keep skiping the Holiday emails! Was there a Decemberween 2005, NO and was there a July 4th 2006 NO

Why is there an asterisk after the link to colonization? Typo or non-existant footnote? »Blendage t.c :: 17:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Redirects
I haven't investigated all of the holidays, but I have found that "Halloween" redirects to this page, but "April Fools' Day" doesn't. Any special reason for that? OptimisticFool 07:03, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Halloween was originally created as a separate page, but it was decided that it didn't need its own article. However, instead of just deleting the page, it was redirected to Holidays#Halloween (October 31st). Homestar-Winner (talk) 09:59, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- My question was actually more about why "April Fools' Day" doesn't redirect here. OptimisticFool 21:37, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
End of School Entry
You can check the page's history for my entry, which people have deleted because this is a Wiki. The new Teen Girl Squad episode was very good and reminded me of high school, and I do believe that the End of School counts as a holiday. I would think most people would agree with me. It's even on some calendars and it is in Animal Crossing as one - it's universal as well. Why would it not be a holiday and be on the holiday list?
- The end of school is not a holiday; it's an event. It is celebrated, but not in the same sense that the rest of the days listed on the page are. — It's dot com 15:26, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Here's the thing though, Trogday, The Super Bowl/The Big Game, and Cheatday aren't holidays either... i think that maybe we should change the page title to "Yearly Events" or something similar, and include it. — Defender1031*Talk 15:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, the page title is fine. This page is primarily to cover everything listed in the Holiday Toons section of the Toons menu, which includes the Superbowl Dealie and Trogday. It's a little bit of a stretch to list Cheatday, but points in its favor include the fact that it's a set day, it has the word "day" it its name, and it really is a holiday for The Cheat. — It's dot com 16:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Scope again, I said Scope Again!
Hi it's me again the scope gnome here to bring up a point about the scope of another page. Is this page for listing the holiday toons, or for listing toons that make reference to these holidays? And if the latter, why have the year numbers next to the page names for the ones which are holiday specials, while having a description next to the ones with a mention? Seems inconsistant. I guess i'd be content if we separated the page into two secions, one listing the holiday toons, and the other which have mentions of those holidays. What do people think? — Defender1031*Talk 04:22, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Easter
I don't agree that Easter should be put in March. According to the Wikipedia article, it was March 23 this year, but will be April 12 in 2009. The "Date of Easter" section also says the majority of Easters are in April. I'm not sure if we should put Easter before or after cheatday, though. Decemberween
I'm not so sure about the description given for Decemberween: "It is analogous to Christmas, possibly having the name to avoid religious issues for the non-Christian audiences." To me, it seems just as likely that it's named that way to avoid religious issues for Christian audiences. Think about it: whenever people make fun of Christmas--or are perceived as making fun of Christmas--which group causes the biggest stir? (Hint: It ain't Hindus)
April Fools' Day (April 1st), "Strong Bad Gameways"
Okay. I hate edit wars, so I'm going to take the discussion here. I think Strong Bad Gameways is in fact an April Fool's cartoon made by the Brother Chaps, but I was told not, so meh. I am copying and pasting what was said in the edit summarys, except for that last part, that is what I decided to add here.
-Badbadguy: that toon didn't include any pranks
-Me: At the end of the youtube clip, you saw "ACTUAL GAME FOOTAGE" which turns out to be, well, actual game footage of SBCG4AP. That seems to be a prank to me, at least.
-Jay: It contains something that it says is real that's actually real and that makes it a prank?????
-Me: That's because nobody expected it to BE real. It's the idea of revealing important news on April Fools' day, to trick people into thinking it's false when it really isn't. So it is, in fact, a prank. /me sighs--149.169.90.162 18:42, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Trogday 2011
Trogday was celebrated in 2011, just not on the website - Telltale Games had a "wood craft" contest for free copies of their games (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22262). Is this worth a mention? (It might also be worth noting that one of the winners, with the username "lombre", is actually on this wiki.) --The New Uzi Bazooka 23:59, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Decemberween, Mark III
Just in case the whole confusing Christmas/Decemberween confusion comes up perennially, I'd like to put in an unnecessary and possibly incorrect opinion. Christmas is the holiday celebrated on December 25th commemorating the birth of an important religious figure. Decemberween, which is celebrated on the same day, is primarily an excuse for people to put up lights, give each other gifts and throw parties during the coldest and darkest days of the year when everyone's moping around depressed while confined to their houses and bathtubs, and it has no religious significance whatsoever. Any similarities the two holidays may have to each other is strictly a coincidence. -- 68.37.43.131 01:10, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
- It's not a coincidence. They're different names for the same holiday. -50.234.189.37 02:36, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
- I'm a little unclear on the point being argued here. Christmas is a (nominally) religious holiday, whereas Decemberween seems to be secular, so no, they don't refer to the same holiday. But Decemberween clearly parodies Christmas. If what you mean is that they're presented as unrelated in-universe, then I agree, and I see nothing on the wiki suggesting otherwise. Lira (talk) 06:01, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
- (Note that Strong Bad has stated that Decemberween celebrations can include Christmas lights and Christmas trees, implying a muddled relationship. But by now we've probably already veered into it's just a cartoon and you probably shouldn't worry about it territory.) Lira (talk) 06:11, 9 November 2019 (UTC)
- I'm admittedly being a little silly. But I'd like to add that in Russia, Decemberween is celebrated on December 31st, with lights and trees and everything. (Christmas is not a major holiday there, but they celebrate New Year's Eve identically to Western Christmas). Decemberween is mostly a time to be festive and excessive in the dead of winter. -- 68.37.43.131 02:37, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

- At first I was confused by your question because November 15th isn't April Fools Day. Then I realized you meant the YouTube upload. If it had been originally released then I might say maybe, but the YT upload seems like just a coincidence. — Defender1031*Talk 09:50, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
