Dangeresque 1

I have found Dangeresque 2 and Dangeresque 3 but where in the world is Dangeresque 1?!

-Ali

 • A remake of Dangeresque 1 can be found in the sbemail called "Dangeresque 3". The real Dangeresque 3 hasn't been made yet, and most likely never will be. Kvb 17:09, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
The only things Dangeresque can be found in is stunt double and dangeresque 3. The email "stunt double" is "Dangeresque 2: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque 1" and the email "dangeresque 3" is the directors cut of "Dangeresque 1". I know Kvb told you, but I thought I'd clear things up a little more. —FireBird|Talk 18:28, 25 May 2005 (UTC)

Where's the link to the HRWiki fan-page and the old HRWiki?

Where's the link to the HRWiki fan-page and the old HRWiki?

 • And the old HRWiki is at http://old.hrwiki.org. But it sometimes doesn't work, and is very slow. «Rob» 08:11, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Offsite Images

How do you get an offsite image to show up? I have an image I want to use in my userpage, but I don't want to take up my limit of one personal image yet. I can't find the answer ANYWHERE! --mibluvr13 18:41, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Just type the url into the page. --phlip TC 04:54, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

signature

how do you use a picture as a signature? I want to load it from my computer -the meanest genius

Unless it's about the size of the text here, it'll be too big to use. But you just put it into the "Nickname" box in your preferences. —FireBird|Talk 01:33, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Deleting a picture

I just uploaded a picture that is was going to use as my personal picture, however I found out that there was a black background on it that was not visible on the black background of the webpage that I got it from. Is there any way that I can dedete it, or do the Sysops have to do it?

The filename is rockman.jpg

--MegamanEXE

You can't delete it, but I will for you. —FireBird|Talk 00:26, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Just edit it and put tobedeleted in the description - one of the sysops will get around to it due time. --phlip TC 06:33, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Unofficially patrolling?

I was looking around The Stick, and I saw some things about the recent changes comittie, so i read them., I decided I'd try to patrol a page to see what it was like, so I did what it said, and it worked fine. My question is, couldn't someone write vandalism on a page and falsely patrol it, so that there i no exclamation point next to it? Sure, it would be found sooner or later, but I think you should somehow make it so that only people on the recent changes comittie can patrol pages, and make a small process to go through to get on the recent changes committie. Thanks - Ju Ju Master (Sorry about the unsigned post, and i don't have those squiggly dashes on this comp)

That's impossible- you can't strict patrolling edits to the committee. Only logged in users can patroll, though, and trolls usually don't create usernames. It doesn't happen to often that a patrolled edit is trolling without something done about it. I don't think you have to much to worry about. (Oh, and please sign your posts.) —FireBird|Talk 17:51, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I highly doubt that there's a way to restrict certain users to patrolling pages. I'm not a big fan of the patrolling thing, so I look at all recent edits regardless of patrolling. Aurora the Homestar Coder 17:52, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
"Mark as partrolled" is hardly the be-all-and-end-all, most edits are seen by a lot of people both before and after someone actually clicks that button - the patrol is just one part of the community that keeps the wiki clean. --phlip TC 18:28, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
There really isn't much point in that, because most of the recent changes are unpatrolled. I personally think the patrolling isn't that useful anyway. «Rob» 05:44, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I need help with an avatar

When I try to use an avatar, it keeps saying: The avatar filetype must be .jpg, .gif or .png I changed the avatar to a .png file, and it says the same thing. Please help me.

Thanks, Troy

We don't have avatars on the Wiki. If this is regarding the forum, please ask your question in the Help Desk there, or perhaps try the FAQ there. -- Tom 20:31, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Protocol for personal message?

Is there a Wiki facility for anonymous personal messaging, like a send-email form that doesn't reveal the recipients address? I want to contact a member privately but can't find them on the wiki forum. Should I just post a note w/ my email address on the user's talk page? Eric 14:40, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

You can try contacting them via the email page, which is visible to everyone. Or you can see if they are also a user of the forum and use its PM feature --phlip TC 15:25, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Eric, we have exactly what you are talking about. If a user has their email address correctly set in their preferences, another registered user can send them an email using the Special:Emailuser feature. Just go to the user page of the person you wish to email and you should see a "E-mail this user" link in the toolbox on the left. More information can be found in the user preferences documentation. -- Tom 17:42, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

How do you make a snapshot?

With all the screenshots from toons and games, how do you save them and upload them on? I can't just draw them myself. Amy Whifflepoof

If you're not using a Mac, there should be a button labeled "Print Screen" on your keyboard. (Or "prt sc" or the like.) Press this. Then open up the art program of your choice (Paint works, Photoshop works, whatever) and press Control-V (or Edit -> Paste). Trim whatever you don't want in the shot and you're finished. To my knowledge, Macs work a bit differently here, but it's been a long time since I used a Mac so I couldn't tell you. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 03:22, 4 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I CAN!!!!!! Okay, to take a picture on a Mac, hold Command + Shift + 4 and your cursor should turn into a crosshair. Drag the cursor around the section that you want to take a picture of, and release it. Then, go to your Hard disk, and in it should be a file called "Picture 1", which is the picture you took. You can save it, rename it, whatever you want with it. But it maay not upload properly on the wiki, so if you have another site, upload it to your site and link to it from the wiki so ppl can see it. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 02:55, 22 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Also, another way to take a picture on a mac is to press Apple-Shift-3. That takes a picture of all the content on the screen. — talk Bubsty edits 21:08, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Pictures in a signature

I've been trying to get my signature to have a little picture in it, but whenever I test it it doesn't come out as a link. Is there a way to make this work? This is what I have, and nothing I can think of seems to fix it.
SomeImage:small_logo.pngthemed username
Some HSR themed username 01:44, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

You need to find out the URL of the image (which for the image you want is small_logo.png), then externally link to the page you want (the full URL, which is for your userspace http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/User:Some_HSR_themed_username). So just use this code: http://www.hrwiki.org/images/a/a6/small_logo.png. That'll put a little box with an arrow coming out icon, so you can put <div class="boilerplate plainlinks"> </div> around it, but that'll add an extra line (for some reason). «Rob» 01:54, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Banned already?

I went to the forum for the first time and was already banned. I do not know why and would prefer to know the reason that I can't join the forum. If you can help me, please email me at gary_bellan@hotmail.com . If posting your adress is against the rules, I apologize, I can't read them because they are on the forum (I think)

What did the message say when you tried to log on to the forum? It's possible that you share an IP with someone who was banned. — It's dot com 05:54, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)

It said (In a red box): Critical Information

You have been banned from this forum. Please contact the webmaster or board administrator for more information.

Is there any way that I could get onto the foum? I didn't know they reused IP adresses...

I'm going to bed. If anyone can answer this for me, e-mail me.

Well, I'm not going to email you, but I'll keep trying to help you here. Depending on how your computer is set up to access your ISP, you could be getting a different IP every time you log on. If that's the case, you may have stumbled onto an IP that was banned for some reason or another. Try this: shut down your computer completely, and if you have an external cable/DSL modem, refresh it. Then restart your computer and try logging on again. If that doesn't work, email tom@hrwiki.org and explain the situation to him. He should get back to you very shortly. — It's dot com 06:24, 6 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Well, It didn't work, so 'm going to email Tom. Thanks for the help. :)

Image resizing

What software does the Homestar Runner Wiki use to make thumbnails of images? —Gafaddict Image:Gafaddict sigpic.gif (Talk | Contribs.) 18:23, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)

ImageMagick. -- Tom 18:25, 11 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Great, thanks. --—Gafaddict Image:Gafaddict sigpic.gif (Talk | Contribs.) 02:17, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)

NOEDITSECTION

how come when i put __NOEDITSECTION__ on my page people can still edit it???

__NOEDITSECTION__ doesn't make stuff protected, it makes the [edit] link next to section headings dissappear. For example, see my userspace. There are none of those automatic edit links to the section names. «Rob» 12:49, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Also, see the documentation for more information on other magic words. -- Tom 12:54, 14 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Putting Pictures in those tumbnails

How do you put pictures in in the tumbnail things? And how come it doesn't show up on the editing page?--User:bkmlb

I don't know about the editing page question, but you put pictures in thumbnails like this: Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 15:46, 15 Jul 2005 (UTC)

How do I start a Discussion?

You just did. — It's dot com

I know I may sound like a n00b (which I am NOT) if I ask this, but, do TBC know about this wiki? 'Cause I posted on main page talk that Matt Wilson knew about the Wiki for his cartoon, Bonus Stage. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 02:49, 22 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Don't double post questions. It splits up the discussion. I've replied to you on Talk:Main_Page. — It's dot com 03:01, 22 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Hey, um, could we put this talk page into an archive or make 2 pages for it or something? When I try to edit it, well, see for yourself:

WARNING: This page is 60 kilobytes long; some browsers may have problems editing pages approaching or longer than 32kb. Please consider breaking the page into smaller sections.

And what does this mean?

WARNING: Your browser is not unicode compliant. Please change it before editing an article.

I have plenty of other questions, but I'll ask 'em later. Thanks, —Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 03:19, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

The first one means the page is 60 kilobytes long. Some browsers have problems editing pages that long. Don't worry about it. The second means that your browser is not unicode compliant. What browser are you using? You might just need to change a setting to fix that. -- Tom 12:33, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

What's unicode? I think I've heard it before but I don't remember what it is. I don't know which settings to change. Right now I am using IE 5. I can't get firefox though. It won't let me get it for Mac OS 9 or 10.1 so that doesn't solve anything. --—Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_ 14:39, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)

How do I make an image my avatar?

I found a good one made by another user and told her I was going to use it, but I'm not sure how.--Thecheat1234 21:45, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

What is "My Talk", and what am I supposed to put on my userpage?

I don't know whay "My talk" is, and I don't know what to write in my user page.--Thecheat1234 21:56, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

My talk is a page where you can communicate with other users, without it being a waste of space. As for your user Page, type what you want. Talk about yourself. Rogue Leader / (my talk)
Actually, when you click on "my talk", it will take you to your discussion page, which is where other users can communicate with you. Whenever someone leaves a note on your talk page, you will get an alert that says "You have new messages." Then, you can respond as is fitting. I'll leave a message on your talk page now, so you can see how it works. — It's dot com 22:38, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Thanks alot, but how do I leave messages to other people, because I seriously need too tell something to someone.--Thecheat1234 22:43, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
First find the page of the user you're looking for. It will be in the form "User:username". Or you can click on their signature to take you to their page if you have one handy. Next, click on the "discussion" tab at the top of the screen. Once you're there, click on the plus ( + ) to start a new thread. Enter a subject and then your message. Preview and save your changes. That's it! — It's dot com 22:55, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
 • Thank you, once again! I have a couple more questions though about my userpage.

1. Is it possible to have a moving picture, if not just a picture,on my userpage that everyone can see the moment they look at it, and if so, how do I do it?

2. Is it possible to have music playing on my userpage, if so, how do I do that as well?

3. If a picture I want to use was created by another user, but I asked permission for it, would I be able to use it?

Thanks in advance!--Thecheat1234 18:22, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Guidelines for user pages can be found on HRWiki:User page. Please note that a user page is provided to facilitate communication among participants in our project. We are not a web host and your user page is not your website. I don't know what kind of "moving picture" you are talking about, but I know for sure that you cannot have music playing. And I don't understand your third question, could you please elaborate? Also, for further information regarding editing the Wiki, please see Help:Editing. -- Tom 20:20, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
I think the last question has to do with the situation in the next section. — It's dot com

If I upload a file, am I taking credit for it?

I don't know if I have been doing something wrong, but I don't think I did anything right either. Here's the story:

I was looking for an avatar, and I found this really great one, and it was made by another user. She said that if I wanted one, then I had to leave a message saying that I was going to use it. So I did, and I thought to make it my avatar, being brand new here, and not knowing anything about computers in the slightest, I should upload the file. Big mistake. It's now on my contribution page in my Fanstuff account, and now I think that I have accidently taken credit for the picture. Am I correct, and if I am, how do I delete the picture from my contributions.--Thecheat1234 18:36, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Well, it shows up in your contributions because you uploaded it. There's nothing you can do about that, and you shouldn't worry about it. I don't think anyone's going to accuse you of trying to steal credit, and if they do, you can politely correct them. If you want to use that image, I don't see anything wrong with uploading it to the Fanstuff. I mean, who knows whether that external link will remain active, right? — It's dot com 18:53, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Avatar? Are you talking about the forum, Thecheat1234? I don't see any image uploads in your recent edits. Forum questions should be asked in the helpdesk over there, as you'll probably get a better response. Of course, I see you've started a thread there as well, so I'm unsure if your question has been answered or not. -- Tom 20:12, 27 Jul 2005 (UTC)
The upload Thecheat1234 spoke of is here, on the Fanstuff. — It's dot com

The mirror currently has some of the Quotes of the Week, A Jumping Jack Contest, and Marshmallow's Last Stand. It isn't designed to be assesed via the directory listing. I fixed that.

The problem was that you had entered .png instead of .PNG. The software needs the correct file extension. Make sure the image entered inside the tags matches the uploaded images. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif, 14:34, 10 August 2005 (BST)

Just not so great at English

Hey,

I have a few questions about the wiki/fan page. My English is, because I'm Dutch and 15 years old, very crappy. I've made two HR-related drawings, and I would like to show them on the fan page. Do I have to sign up to do that? And if so, where can I do that? If you want to show an image, does it have to be already uploaded somewhere on the internet? And my last question, are there more Dutch fans around here ;-) HR is totally unknown in Holland.

Grz, Henrieke

Hi there Grz. Just create an account on the Fanstuff Wiki and then you'll be able to upload images there. The images you upload need not be on the Internet, you can upload them straight from your computer. As for Dutch people, after a quick serach I found that User:King Nintendoid says he is Dutch on his userpage. Good luck. -- Tom 15:30, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Help!

My cousin was posing as the brothers chaps on the forums a while ago and he got my IP banned! Could I please be unbanned? - Shadow 23:27, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, Shadow93, but it was your fault you got banned. You wouldn't stop after InterruptorJones told you to. For that, you got banned. Shame. —FireBird|Talk 23:32, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

But it wasn't me! my cousin was over and he went on my computer! he just told me what he did now!

Sorry, but the answer is still no. —FireBird|Talk 23:36, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Well is there any way i can contact the webmaster to sort this out?

You could ask InterruptorJones, who banned you. Try e-mailing him. —FireBird|Talk 23:40, 13 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Trouble Finding Pages

Ever since the Main Page changed, I've been having trouble finding pages, such as the list of users, the WikiTroll page, and the Welcoming Committee page. I try to search for it, but I get no results. And now I have to either Google it or go to the History part of the page and click on the page. Can anyone tell me how to go to the pages not listed on the main page without using the search? Happy 20:07, 13 Aug 2005 (EST)

Homestar Dresser

On the HomestarDresser Fanstuff Game ( http://www.deviantart.com/view/2810064/ ) Is there any way to save what you made into an image? Shadow

I'd imagine that since the game is done in Flash, the only way would be to take a screenshot. If you have any other questions, it is probably best to direct them to the maintainer of the game. -- Tom 21:16, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)

How to make links

To make a link to another page, do I just copy its contents onto the edit page?

To make a link, all you need to know is the title of the page you want to link to. Let's say you want to link to Homestar Runner). You'd make the link using the following code: Homestar Runner. You can learn more about how to format things in wiki code by reading the wiki markup section on the Help:Editing page. Hope this helps. — wikisig.gif Joey (talk·edits) 19:31, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
