Weeklies

The Weeklies were three specific types of non-toon updates to homestarrunner.com, referred to as such because they were usually updated weekly from 2004 through 2009. Weeklies could be accessed by clicking on small buttons at the top of the main pages; upon clicking on the button, the respective feature popped up in a small box over the main page. They were:

The data for the weeklies is controlled by the weeklies.xml site component.

The Random Toon popup was activated by a similar small button that is grouped with the others (though it too is non-functional as of 2021). Because the location of the button and the behavior of the popup are very similar to that of the weeklies, the random toon feature is sometimes counted among the weeklies when discussing the main pages.

All three were regularly updated beginning in 2004, ceasing regular updates after October 22, 2009. This halt in updates was briefly broken or acknowledged in October 2014, but none of the three were updated after the end of that month.

As of the post-Flash site update on December 31, 2020, the buttons do not function properly — clicking them did nothing through 2024. Limited functionality was restored on April 14, 2025, with the Fanstuff and Sketchbook displaying the latest piece alongside placeholder text; the Fanstuff, Sketchbook, and Random Toon popups only work properly on main pages 24, 25, 27, 28; the Quote of the Week popup still does not function.
