Eclectricity Question

I have an electricity question, TBird. I know you can't put LEDs in series, but can you do bulbs? Bluebry 04:04, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind. Built the circuit. Bluebry 02:11, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Flashforward

Hey T-Bird, did you make the 2/28 Flashforward interview? 'Cause that'd make it easier to transcribe. LePorello / T / C 01:35, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

According to the recently-updated talk page, he obtained a press pass in the wiki's behalf. How totally cool is that? He really isn't under any obligation to transcribe TBC's speech. I'm sure he'll let us know if it's possible. —THE PAPER PREEEOW 05:25, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Well I really don't want the page to turn out like other similar pages, so I'm gonna make a totally rad and readable writeup of the event here. It may take a while, but it's coming. After all, my press pass was on behalf of the wiki, so I'm somewhat obligated to report and share the experiance with aforementioned wiki. Thunderbird 05:43, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Not you

Sorry 'bout that. I just didn't want anyone impersonating you. I'd hate it if someone was impersonating me. Bluebry 02:59, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Haha, no problem. Thunderbird 06:36, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Stinkoman Level

Here's the code to that level you wanted. Follow the instructions on this page to play it. Your mock-up isn't too good, so you'll need to tell me any inconsistancies that you find. I kind of want to get it as close to the original as possible. - Joshua 20:21, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Help again

I have been blocked again, to see my comment go here.--H*bad 16:52, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Please help!

Please block Homestar Swimmer when you get the chance! Beat 16:27, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

If there is an active vandal, most likely there is a sysop watching recent changes who will block him without prompting. If it continues for a few minutes, add the name to WikiTroll. If that doesn't work, try contacting the most recently active sysop, according to Recent Changes. If that fails, you could also try alerting somebody on the IRC. If even that fails, and the vandalism continues for more than 10 or 15 minutes, then likely by some bizzare happening there are no sysops here at all. Then you may leave a message on my talk page. But even then, it probably won't do any good, since by the time I log in and see it, most likely another capable sysop will already have logged in, seen the problem, and blocked them. Unless I'm visably active, leaving a message here really doesn't do much. Thunderbird 22:56, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
If there are no sysops that are logged in and active but not checking recent changes, it won't do much good to contact any of them. You'll just have to keep reverting until a sysop comes around. They always do eventually. —BazookaJoe 23:00, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Good point. Yeah, for all intensive purposes, the best thing is just to revert it and wait for a sysop. Usually you don't have to wait too long. Thunderbird 23:02, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry Thunderbird L17, that was my first experience with a troll. Please accept my apology. Beat 00:12, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh no problem. Just a heads up. ;) Thunderbird 05:07, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Protected subpages

I'm not entirely enthusiastic about your protected subpages. I think that it's unfair to normal users. Just my thoughts. — Seriously (Talk) 18:07, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Seriously, I thought I already gave the final word on this topic at HRWiki talk:Protected page#Wrong protection. There is no need to bring it up again here on Thunderbird's talk page. Please leave him alone. Thanks. -- Tom 22:41, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh, didn't know that. Sorry, Thunderbird. — Seriously (Talk) 22:52, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Just wondering...

Hey T-bird. I thought that I might ask you a question. I've seen these a couple times, and what is User:Usernamehere/monobook.css? I noticed a couple users had a page for it, and I wanted to know what it was for. Thanks a bunch! teeeffoh! 23:09, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

It changes your specific Wiki display options. You can do all sorts of things with it, FireBird even made his sysop "rollback" button flash. I really don't know much about HOW to make stuff happen though, best I can do is see what users do and copy them. I haven't really gotten around to personalizing them at all much, but I probably will someday. Thunderbird 23:12, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Sounds confuzzling. teeeffoh! 23:14, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
It is. As another example, it seems as though Tampo's trying to make his new messages bar appear blue. Like I said, customization that effects only the user that implements it. One more thing I forgot to mention, I'm pretty sure that both of those kind of pages on my subpage list can't be edited by fellow users, only the user it belongs to. Thunderbird 23:18, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry if i ask, but i need your help again

Hey there thunderbird, how are you, i've been doing great. listen i need to ask you a favour. i just added another single userbox on my list but it doesn't appear on my user page, can you help, please?

also, i've also been adding userboxes on my user page in Wikipedia, but there seriously all over the place, can you help?

see you around. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pece_Kocovski

Nikolce Kocovski 08:33, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

I fixed your userboxes on Wikipedia; you may want them in a different layout than the tower I put them in (like what I have on my userpage there), but at least now they aren't all over the place. With crap, Yeltensic (T C) 08:50, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you Granola, for fixing my user page, even if you didn't ask. i sent you a thank you note on your wiki user page. how do you pronounce your wiki user name? thanks again Nikolce Kocovski 09:17, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Your welcome. It's pronounced "yell-tin-zik." (I answered it there, but I'm also answering it here, in case HRWikians also want to know...perhaps I should put that on my userpage(s), it occurs to me that no one would have any way of knowing...) With crap, Yeltensic (T C) 09:41, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
And as for your userboxes not appearing on your userpage, it was probably because you didn't purge the cashe. When you add a userbox, if you want it to appear right away, go to this link, and then it should appear. Feel free to copy this link and put it somewhere. You can also make this link by pressing edit on your userpage, then replacing "edit" in the url with "purge", and pressing enter. It's the same thing. Hope that helps! Thunderbird 15:49, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting The thing's edit. --Dacheatbot · Communicate

No problem. Seemed like that was a "user edits only" section. ;) Thunderbird 02:03, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

typo

In the "roast duck" fact thing the word "then" should be replaced with "than". - Uglinessman 09:51, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Dang, you're right. And mixing those two up is a pet peeve of mine... Thanks! Thunderbird 16:53, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Image thingy

I looked in Firefox and Opera, it looked good there now. How's it to you? {image deleted} Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 18:06, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

It looks a bit small. I suppose that an image wouldn't really line up with the text, since it would depend on your screen resolution and other things, correct? If you'll look on my userpage, the thumb image with the caption "Thunderbird"; the arrows from that look pretty close to the same as the arrow from your image. The arrows from my sig are around twice the size, bolder and squarer. Thunderbird 18:19, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
EDIT: Hang on one sec, I'll upload a screenshot. Thunderbird 18:21, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I figured something like that. Oh well, back to the drawing board... Thunderbird 18:35, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Ya, I'm gonna mark mine for deletion. What's the code to do that? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 17:44, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

The Stairs

Thunderbird, I am so, so sorry about the rating and stairs pages. I am known on the bswiki to be a great editor and troll lookout. I have never vandalized any wiki before. (Unless you count what I just did, but I thought you would be ok with that.) Anyway, I am great at protecting wikis, so could you give me a chance at being an admin to protect the greatest wiki I have ever known?--Bonusstagefreak 16:55, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry about it. When I first came here I was unsure of the rules for any wiki, and got myself blocked for a day. ;) I hope you turn out to be a great contributor. We don't get new sysops very often, usually less than 10 a year. Becoming a sysop is an admirable goal to work towards, and some general guidelines are written out in the FAQ. We don't get new sysops very often, and being only a sysop, I don't have the power to promote users. I hope that you turn out to be a great user here though, let me know if you have any other questions. Thunderbird 20:20, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I can't seem to upload any images! It's driving me insane!--Bonusstagefreak 22:34, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

See here for the regulations on personal images. To upload an image, there's an option on the sidebar, namely this one. Generally use PNG images. If you're still having trouble, let me know. Thunderbird 22:38, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I know, but whenever I give it the picture and click on "Upload File", It says that the file is corrupted. What should I do? I've tried uploading on at least 6 wikis, but everytime it gives me the same thing.--Bonusstagefreak/sig 22:47, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Then most likely the file is corrupted, and it shouldn't be uploaded. It could have a script or virus hidden in it, or it could be the wrong MIME type. Thunderbird 23:11, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Brilliant

I have frankly never seen something so funny. I don't think I have ever laughed harder in my life. You have a wonderful sense of humor, and I hope you pull a stunt like this again. — Seriously (Talk) 01:55, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. That happened the night before Flashforward, after I had left IRC to get an early night in bed before the big day. I noticed on recent changes Dot com and Tom were doing some kind of username debugging. So instead of going to bed I lurked for a while, after every test username he created, I would add another "journal entry" to corrispond to it. Nice to know my work is appreciated. ;) Thunderbird 02:22, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh, it's appreciated. I think that you should make that a fanstuff article. I really do. — Seriously (Talk) 02:29, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Annoying Question

I know I've been annoying but can you answer this question on DBK's talk page? --Dacheatbot · Communicate 03:21, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Oh I don't mind answering questions ;) I'll see what I can do. Thunderbird 03:26, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Heh

Oh, TBird, I thought you might be interested in this edit. I think you may have worked on that project for too long; you're evidently forgetting your Fun Fact categories. :-) Heimstern Läufer 07:28, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Hahahaha. Oh man, you're right. Bit of a Freudian slip. :) Thunderbird 14:19, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Co-head

Would you like to be the co-head of the Ex-Vandal committee on the HRFwiki? I am only asking you for now. Please answer as soon as you can.--H*bad 07:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Last chance man. If you want to be the head of this thing then you need to say yes or no like in the next 30 min.--H*bad 20:26, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate the offer, but I'm really busy as it is with my personal life and doing all sorts of stuff over at this wiki. Thanks for the offer though. Thunderbird 00:05, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

help delete page

Hello Thunderbird, I uploaded a file, but it another version of it already exists. Could you please delete the file that I just uploaded? I tried to delete it myself, but I wasn't able to do it. If you wish to help, the file is at "http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Image:headbadquote.ogg." Thanks, Jecowa

I did it for you. In the future, you can add this template to a page: {{delete|Reason for deletion}} if you need something deleted. Hope that helps! Heimstern Läufer

Spanish

For some reason I made a Spanish H*R wiki. --TheThin 00:09, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Do you speak Spanish fluently? Thunderbird 00:14, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
No. I used this. --TheThin 00:15, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
I hope I'm not butting in here, but The thing, this is kind of a strange idea. Not only do you not speak Spanish fluently, or perhaps even enough to translate, but Altavista Babelfish is a very unreliable public translator. Can you provide some insight as to what you hope to accomplish with this? — Lapper (talk) 00:19, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Crisis

I'm starting to have a beginnig-hrwiki crisis. Meaning I feel like I have nothing to do on the wiki and everything is allready done. --Dacheatbot · Communicate 03:17, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm... I'll tell you what. You want to create Rejected Costumes with me? Give me a few minutes and I'll make the base, then you can add some info, following the format from any of the pages on Halloween Costumes. How does that sound? Thunderbird 03:23, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

You have no idea how much this means to me. --Dacheatbot · Communicate 03:31, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

What Do you mean by "Explanation" --Dacheatbot · Communicate 04:07, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
See any of the pages under Halloween Costumes. Just follow that format and you'll do fine. Basically "explanation" is just a short summary in your own words of the costume they've chosen. Do your best, and when you've done all you can do, take away the template from the top. Thunderbird 04:11, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Arrow'd!

I got you a present! tbirdsig5kv.png It's for all those people who can't see your siggy. DBK! 04:08, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, that's bang on to what I see. The problem is that many people see my signature differently, and replacing that in my sig would make it look significantly askew to other users... Thunderbird 04:13, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Sysop

Would you be interested in the position of sysop on my wiki. You really accually don't have to do anything execpt sign on and make a user page. The reason I am asking you this is to make my wiki look presentable. Follow this link and sign on. [1]--H*bad 21:13, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the offer, but I really don't have time for another wiki. Any wiki time that I do have I spend here instead. Thanks anyways though. Thunderbird 23:18, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Dude, password

I likes the "new" wrong password note. I logged in with the wrong password intentionally to see it. It's cool! LePorello / T / C 03:15, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

Haha, that actually wasn't supposed to happen. I was just messing around at a personal wiki, and accidentally switched wikis while changing system messages. :) Thunderbird 03:19, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh. Well, I left you a message there. LePorello / T / C 03:26, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

HP PhotoSmart 315

Hi Thunderbird. Was just going to remark that I have the same exact camera model as you. May I ask if you used all three diamonds when you took this pic? I was wondering what other users of that camera preferred to use. And while I'm here, I'd like to ask if you've received a package from me yet. And would it be OK to congratulate a certain someone on his recent bundle of keychains and more from you? Thanks a bunch. —THE PAPER PREEEOW 17:29, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey man, long time no see! The camera is my parent's, it's around 4 years old, and I rarely use it. I really didn't know much about it, now that you mention the diamond thing, I seem to recall something about it, more diamonds means better quality, or something, right? As for how many I used, I didn't even think to change it or anything, so it really just depends on what the default is. I haven't recieved your package yet, but I'm looking forward to it. And in case you didn't realize, the and more is the reason why I requested the replacements for myself. ;) Thunderbird 02:48, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, more diamonds means improved resolution and quality. I just thought I'd ask since it's such an old camera and all— older than the First generation iPod, in fact. I really hope you'll receive the package soon, since it's been a while now. It must due to the geographical distance between us. And yeah, I realized the reason for you needing replacements. =) —THE PAPER PREEEOW 15:44, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
ATTN: The Paper Enterprises: It just arrived today. That Magnet is so pro, it's on the magnet board right above the computer now. Thanks so much! Thunderbird 05:33, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Bot

Do you know how to make a bot. I want one for my wiki. [2]. Also I have changed since last week or so. I am a different person. Just you know FYI.--H*bad 05:13, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

No, I know nothing of such things. Besides, bots are really only useful on larger wikis. Most things can be done by human hands on small wikis. Thunderbird 05:35, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Oh.--H*bad 22:07, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Have you seen it though?--H*bad 00:33, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
I glanced, yes. Thunderbird 06:25, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Wiki

Unfortunately, my idea for a Talking Heads wikicity fell through, but I will be creating my own wiki soon. (over the weekend, most likely). It's going to be a wiki version of this site I made. (the rest of this only makes sense if you've already followed the link and then returned) My plan is for the current site to be the "canon" version with real material, and for the wiki to be "based on a true story", so to speak. Tablage

Hey, you commented on how Songs might benefit from tables. I agree with you, but haven't ever done that before. Can you point me to examples of tables I can kinda go by to make that happen? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 03:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Floppy Disk Container is one. Here's a table you can copy if you wish:

(The stuff at the top is technical stuff, but if you really want to be creative with your table try changing it around a bit. obviously "#eeeeee" means color, and most of those little one digit numbers mean how thick most of the table lines are)

{| border=1 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2 style="border-collapse:collapse"
|- bgcolor=#eeeeee
! Something !! Another Thing !! As Many Things As You Want !! Let's try four this time.
|- id="id_tags_are_optional_but_sometimes_useful"
| Then you can stick something here, maybe an image or whatever. || See the two vertical line break things? Stick them there to seperate the column. || just remember that however many of the breaks you make || Are the same number as the double ! breaks you make first to name the columns.
|- id="id_tags_are_just_used_to_link_to_a_specific_part_of_the_table"
| Remember that after your four (or however many columns you chose), press enter, add a vertical line break, and then a dash, then go enter again. || When starting a new line for your table, you have to start it with a ''single'' vertical line as well, like the single ! you put first when naming your columns to begin with. || || You can even make sections blank, but you still need the right number of double line breaks.
|- id="and_as_a_technical_point_ids_can_not_start_with_a_number"
| <-- Don't forget that line to start your column. || <-- Or that there's the same number of those sets of breaks as there are title columns, in this case four. || [[Image:RebootTurbo.PNG|150px|An Image in a table can't be a thumb or anything]] || Finish off your table with a new line, then...
|} <!-- Finish your table with that. a line and a curly bracket -->

That all makes...

Something Another Thing As Many Things As You Want Let's try four this time.
Then you can stick something here, maybe an image or whatever. See the two vertical line break things? Stick them there to seperate the column. just remember that however many of the breaks you make Are the same number as the double ! breaks you make first to name the columns.
<-- Don't forget that line to start your column. <-- Or that there's the same number of those sets of breaks as there are title columns, in this case four. An Image in a table can't be a thumb or anything Finish off your table with a new line, then...

I hope that helps! There's lots of other technical stuff you can do as well, such as making a table only a certain width, lots of color variations, etc, but if you want a basic table, that's the layout. Once you start a table, users are bound to come over and tweak it a bit later. Thunderbird 16:48, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
