"A glitch takes our hero where no Stinko should Stink-go"
Stinkoman is zapped into a wall, but escapes into the negative zone, where he faces bizarre challenges and glitches from previous levels.

{A field on Planet K is shown, with the right side taken up by a wall. Suddenly, lightning flashes, and Stinkoman appears inside the wall. He attempts to move, in vain.}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} WHAT HAPPENS?! I'M SAD IN SIDE A WALL!!

{Cut to the shadowy figure in his lair.}

SHADOWY FIGURE: {subtitled} MUU HOO HAAHAA!! STINKOMAN WILL BE FOREVER TRAPPED SAD INSIDE THAT WALL!

{The camera turns to show 1-Up on the left.}

1-UP: {subtitled} YOU'RE MYSTERIOUS!!

{Cut to a close-up of Stinkoman inside the wall.}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} I'M SURE BY NOW I DON'T NEED TO TELL YOU PEOPLE WHAT I'M FAIRLY CERTAIN THIS WALL IS ASKING FOR...

{Stinkoman blasts a section of wall away, and runs out via the newly created path. Cut back to the shadowy figure's lair.}

SHADOWY FIGURE: {subtitled} NOOOO! HE ESCAPED! AND THAT PATH LEADS STRAIGHT TO THE NEGATIVE ZONE!!

{Cut to a close up of 1-Up.}

1-UP: {subtitled} NEGATIVE ZONE?!?!

Twenty-Exty-Glitch??
  • You start at the wall you blasted. Go forward and soon you'll leave the bit of land and will be walking on air. A Poorbt will appear and fire at you. Kill or ignore him and walk forward, where a Jaro and Gaspeau will be. Also, you'll fall off the air and land on the ground.
  • Go to the edge and jump to the stone platform, and then to the ladder. Climb up it, take care of the Terrell, and continue forward.
    • If you take the lower path, you will see a Protek that won't hurt you and a swarm of My Benj that will hurt you. Blast away.
  • Jump to the cloud and jump or run to the conveyor belt before the cloud disappears. Jump to the ladder, climb it and fall to the stone platform below. Destroy the Biztar and continue.
  • Walk off the edge, being careful of the Bendini Sister, and you'll land on trees.
  • Challenge the Frotzer and go forward. You'll see a trapdoor that works in reverse. You can land on it while it's down, yet you'll fall when it's up. Jump past it and eliminate the Chorch. Jump past the assorted platforms to the rapidly changing platform below, but watch out for the Kolkaryu.
    • Before going on, jump down into the ovens stacked on one another; there's a hidden capsule for you.
  • Climb the ladder of ducks while avoiding the Stothos' fire and destroy the Grundy and Chorch up there. Continue on to the two platforms.
  • Take them to the next area where you'll see a Drill and a switch like the one from level 4. Run onto the platform to be teleported.
  • You'll land on a platform. Jump through the second one and get rid of the 3 Jaros. (If you look closely, you can see an Astromund jumping around at the bottom.)
    • Ignore the discolored capsule off to your left — it's poisoned and hurts you instead of healing you.
  • Climb the retractable ladder and jump on the large assortment of platforms to the two conveyor belts. The first one doesn't work and the second one works in reverse. Shoot the Biztars and My Benj. Progress forward, but watch out for the Piedmonts.
  • You'll then come across 3 Lundsfords lined up on top of each other. Go past them and the Porchis so you can defeat the Stobat. Then you'll meet a large assortment of Chorches, Greggos, and a Terrel. Kill them.
  • There's a capsule ahead, but watch out, because again, there's a Gaspeau and a set of Bendini Sisters guarding it. Grab it and go forward to see a pile of Gokuls, with a blue Browntant on top, and a Pink Cham Cham under them. Avoid the Kolkaryu's bullets.
  • Destroy everything that you can, since you can't reach the Pink Cham Cham, and walk through the lava-fall - it's fake, and won't hurt you. Shoot the Terrell and Grundy, then go up the retractable ladder and destroy the Terrell. Go to the array of ladders, and go to the first one there.
  • Climb all the way up to the top, and you can stand on it. Jump forward to land on an invisible platform. Walk forward and you'll fall and land on a retractable ladder. Destroy the Chorch, jump to the next ladder, and destroy the Frotzer.
  • Walk forward to walk on air, watching out for the Kolkaryu. Climb down the retractable ladder, and then down the duck ladder. When you go down the duck ladder, a switch platform from Level 4 will try to smack into you.
  • Walk forward, avoiding the Postlethwaite's lightning. Defeat the Chorch and be sure to jump to land on the invisible platform because if you just walk, you will fall and lose a life. Watch out for the Bendini Sisters that are waiting. Go to the rapidly changing platform.
  • Go to the set of trapdoors. Remember that they work in reverse, so jump when they're down and you'll land on them. Eliminate the Stobat and get the capsule he leaves behind.
  • Jump over the Lundsfords and you'll land on a line of 1-Up heads. A Fullbide will charge at you too, so be careful. Continue. You'll see another Fullbide and a Browntant.
  • Destroy them and walk forward to the collection of Old Sages, Sporks, Hash-Haws, and other deadly items, and you'll reach the invisible goal! -0.1 Complete!

Stove maze solution.
  • As soon as you enter, you'll face a Stobat. Defeat him.
  • Jump onto the first oven in the first row. Walk forward - the next oven isn't solid, so you'll fall into that. Jump onto the next oven, then continue jumping up ovens diagonally to the right.
  • When you reach the top, a Kolkaryu is waiting for you. Jump to the platform near him to avoid him. To get the extra life, walk forward and then jump over the oven next to the one where the life is (a Fullbide will attack here). Go back to the platform. Walk forward and then jump over the next oven, to the one where the Chorch is waiting. Destroy the Chorch.
    • The second oven after the platform isn't solid, and you'll fall below the wall of ovens. Don't panic — continue to the left, destroy the Gaspeaus, and jump back up.
  • Walk to the oven next to the Lundsford. You'll fall to the bottom. Jump onto the next oven and continue on.
    • You can also jump over the oven with the Lundsford on it to get a hidden capsule inside the oven on the right of the Lundsford.
  • Run forward to the retractable ladder, and take it to the top.
  • Jump on the cloud platform, and then jump to the stone platform as soon as possible, or you'll smack into the drill.
    • You can stay on the right edge of the cloud platform to avoid the drill entirely.
  • Jump past the other two platforms and back on land. Destroy the Browntant ahead and go up the ladder. Eliminate the Terrell and the My Benj there and get the capsule, but watch out for the flying platform.
  • Jump onto the conveyor belt, then to the evaporating cloud, then to the stone platform. Now jump forward over the Pooru-Poorus — you'll land on the air. Walk forward until you fall and hit the platforms below you. Walk down the platforms and destroy or ignore the Astromunds. Then defeat the Gaspeau nearby.
  • You should see a line of Rose Blakes. Make sure the last two are extinguished, then jump over the first two and quickly move forward.
  • Now you'll see a series of switches from Level 4. Jump onto the first one to teleport. You'll land next to two more. Avoid/destroy the Uptant, then go on the teleporter on the left. Destroy the unnamed plant and go to the right teleport. Walk to your right and jump, trying to land on the right side teleport. There's only one in the next place, so take it, then take the next one too. The next set of teleports will be right on top of each other — walk into the set and jump, trying to hit the bottom one. Take the next teleport you see, then dodge the Stafulter and walk into the teleport on the ground. Jump off the evaporating cloud and get the capsule. Jump off the next platform, avoiding the column of My Benj.
    • To get an extra life, instead of jumping off the platform, jump on the teleport above you, get the life, jump on the next teleport, climb up the duck ladder, and continue on.
  • Take care of the Protek. Another set of Bendini Sisters is there, but they can't hurt you.
  • Walk forward to see two Biztars with a Pink Cham Cham under them. Watch out for the flying Level 4 platform. Destroy the Biztars, the Fullbides, and the blue Browntant, but be careful of another flying platform.
  • Jump on the moving platforms and go up to the clouds. You'll see some letters and three capsules below you on Old Sages. Walk forward, and you'll eventually fall through the clouds to the three capsules. Snag a capsule.
  • A split second before you become Stinko-kabobs on the Old Sages, you'll trigger the Ekersby fight. You're saved! -0.2 Complete!

{Stinkoman walks to a pile of junk}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} AND OTHER PILE OF JUNK. EVEN A NEGATIVE ZONE IS GETTING TO BE PREDICTABLE.

{The area darkens}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} FADE TO FIGHTING?!

{As the round begins, the pile of junk moves, forming Ekersby. Stinkoman says his famous line out loud.}

STINKOMAN: Are you asking for a challenge?

After you defeat Ekersby...

{Stinkoman watches the boss explode}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} HOW EASY. WAS THAT?

{A red glow flashes in the corner of the view}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} HUH– RED BLINK; RED BLINK?

{We see that the red glow is coming from one of Ekersby's Uptant eyes}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} WHAT COULD IT MEAN?

{The eye opens up to reveal a green screen. Pan Pan's and 1-Up's heads can be seen next to the red button}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} IT'S A USEFUL DEVICE SHOWING 1-UP AND PAN PAN'S WHEREABOUTS. AND THEY'VE GOT THE RED BUTTON!

{The words LEVEL 10 appear on the screen}

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} THEY'RE AT THE END OF LEVEL 10!!!

STINKOMAN: {subtitled} WHAT A BUMMER!! I'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH LEVEL 9 TO GET TO THEM! I'LL MAKE THEM PAY FOR RED BUTTONING ME!

[edit] Level -0 Boss: Ekersby (Guide)

  • Ekersby, like the negative zone, is a jumble of random sprites from the other levels, with Uptants and Downtants for weapons.
  • Watch the Lundsford on the right. When it lights up, it activates the fridge door, opening or closing it. When the fridge door is open, that's your cue to attack it. Hitting the ham delivers damage to Ekersby.
  • After a hit, the door will open from the other side, blocking your beam, so you'll have to get to the other side to shoot Ekersby's ham-heart again.
  • Jump on the green tile to teleport to the top. Avoid the Uptants and the sporks on his head by waiting for the Uptants to fire, walking to the Sporks, waiting for them, and running past.
  • Go to the other side and wait for Ekersby to go to the other side. Climb down the ladder, avoiding the Downtants, and repeat. Don't try to kill the 'Tants, it doesn't work. Number of hits needed: 6.
  • An alternative method is to run into Ekersby at the very beginning and jump when the 'tants shoot and face the ham and shoot, eliminating the need to teleport, but make sure you are not too close to the ham or this does not work.
