Thanks for the help. Being new here and everything it's nice to know that there are nice people here. --Cori Rain 04:48, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

No problem. Would you like any more help fixing up your userboxes? I'd be happy to fix them for you. Welcome again, Trey56 04:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia....

Come to think, Trey, you've set up a game trivia. I think that I'll make a game trvia of my own. Is that okay? -Garbagedisposal

Of course — I looked at it, and it's great that it's going to be Homestar Runner-related. That's the only thing I was going to advise. I'm not sure why you put all our names up there though; have you asked all those people if they want to participate in it? Trey56 04:54, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

That is tottally awesome. In fact, I've signed up for it on your user page! Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot Garbage-Man, and thanks Trey, for correcting my noobish stnank. |\|/[_}-Elkmiester-{_]\|/|

No prob, Bob Elk. Trey56 04:54, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Is this the image you want to use? If so, just add [[Image:bad graphics ghost.png|9px]] into your sig page (either before or after your name), and it'll produce this: . Hope that helps, Trey56 17:59, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Trey is the computer genius man, lets do a dance for the computer genius man!!!!!!!--Geoblu2 18:07, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] time / dates

trey,I call upon thee knowlege once again, my time and dates are all wrong how do I change them?--Geoblu2 02:35, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey, GeoBlu2. The default times displayed on the wiki are Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). You can change the way times are displayed in recent changes and page histories by going to Special:Preferences, clicking the "Date and time" tab, and entering a number of hours in the "Offset" box. If I remember correctly, you're in the Pacific Time Zone, which is 7 hours behind UTC. So, enter "-7" in that box and click "save".
Finally, note that the timestamps on talk pages will not be affected by this; they will continue to be displayed in UTC time. Let me know if you have any questions, Trey56 02:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

thanks! I'll try that okay!--Geoblu2 00:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DaaAAAaaaAaAAaaaa

Hey, Trey. I recently got a messagey thing telling me that my user page was edited by a guy that wasn't me. It was me. I kinda...sorta...forgotmypasswordandcantgetitback...so yeah. How do I get my password back? --Homsar Lover 23:45, 8 July 2007 (UTC) (as 68.53.87.6)

Hey there, Homsar Lover. If you set an email address in your account preferences, you can go to Special:Userlogin, enter your username, click "Email new password", and a new password will be sent to you. Unfortunately, if you didn't set an email address, there's no way for your password to be reset. Let me know if that works out for you, or if you have any other questions. I hope it works out! Trey56 23:50, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Yup, I deffinatly did not set an email address...could I just move the description of my character to... I dunno... Homsar Loverr? --Homsar Lover 17:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC) (as 68.53.87.6)

Given the current inactivity of the account, the low number of contributions, and the fact that your IP matches the one that the account was created under, I'm inclined to take you at your word (you might be some younger sibling usurping the account, but I think it's unlikely). Send an email to admin@hrwiki.org describing your situation and promising under penalty of being dipped in hot butter that you are who you say you are, and I'll get you fixed up. — It's dot com 22:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Wouldn't being dipped in hot whatsit be a better punishment? — Defender1031*Talk 22:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

OK, I'm fairly mad now. I tried to send you an email, It's dot com, but my computer made me do a whole buncha extra stuff, and when I did it, it wouldn't let me send you my email (it was 17 sentences long (-.-))! I know that this is completely out of...ummmmm...protocol?, but I think the only way I can do this is by adding something to your (please don't kill me) talk page. Also, I don't got no older siblings, (I wish I had added that to my User Page), and my real name is Aeron... yes it has an "e" in it not an "a" --Homsar Lover

Try going to Dot Com's user page and clicking "Email This User" in the left column. You really don't want to discuss details about account access on a wiki where every edit is accessible. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:42, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Great point, Quermaq! I think I'll try that...right now!...Great...I have to be logged in to email other users...Like, is that ironic, or what? --Homsar Lover

Try again to send an email to admin@hrwiki.org (copy and paste the email address instead of clicking the link, if necessary) using your regular email account. — It's dot com 18:04, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another thing about#Redirects

Trey, do you know why the redirects that people make that link to a certian part of a page instead of just the page (for example, TTATOT links to HRWiki:Glossary#T) the extra linking doesn't work on my computer (meaning it only takes me to HRWiki:Glossary without linking me to the #T part. I know this isn't very important, but if you have a way for the linking to work it would melp me some possibly with my finding and removing redirects. Also, something like that, is any time someone makes a link to a QOTW with a link to a specific quote by using the ID, it again only links me to the top of the page instead of the quote that has that ID. Is there any way for me to fix that (if it helps you think of a reason, my computer is an iBookG4) Homestar-Winner (talk) 15:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Is JavaScript enabled in your browser? -- Tom 18:05, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
If you're using Safari (which it sounds like you might be, since you've got a Mac), then that's the problem. (Perhaps Tom's suggestion is the underlying reason) Whenever I use Safari to browse the wiki, I encounter that problem as well as a few others. If you try one of those redirects using Firefox, you should have no problem. Hope that helps, Trey56 20:41, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, but I don't think that's the promblem. My dad has a MacBook and he uses Safari, and it works on his compy (but I don't use his computer much so don't suggest that I use his). But I don't care very much unless you have another possible cause. Also by the way, I put you on my cool people list that I made yesterday. I should add Tom also. Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
It might be our outdated versions of Safari, though. My version is 1.3.2 (probably about the same as yours if you have an iBook G4), whereas your dad's Macbook probably has a fancy new version without the problems. At any rate, thanks for adding me to your list! Laters, Trey56 23:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Wait, one more thing....does that mean you use a Mac? And does the redirect and ID linking work for you or not? I guess that was two more things. Homestar-Winner (talk) 23:19, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Yup, I use a powerbook G4. The redirect/anchor thing does not work with my version of Safari, but it does with Firefox. Trey56 23:23, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocking 209.251.71.74

Good call blocking 209.251.71.74. I don't know why he vandalized my page and It's dot com. But some people will vandalize stuff. Who knows what he/she was going to do next? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man 19:11, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Subtitles Template question

Hey, tried to make the text in the first real paragraph switch to "play the game" when it's a game. I failed miserably. Maybe you know how to make that work? Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 02:59, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Where are you when I need you?

Trey!I need help, but first I have to deliver a long story to you ABOUT my long story.

O.K.,so I've made a medieval fantasy story, but I need to put it on the wiki for friends to enjoy. But I don't know if it's O.K. to put it on a different, seperate page, let alone my page. What should I do with the stroy.Oh, BTW.I need you to call tech support and tell them you broke the lappy again.

Please respond one way or another,-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 19:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, Chaos. You're right — you shouldn't put it on your user page or create a subpage for it (see the user space policy). I would recommend that you upload it somewhere else on the internet and post a link to it on your user page. Hope that helps, Trey56 19:45, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
By the way, if you can't think of anything better, you could upload it here Probably not the best format for a story, but it would work. Trey56 20:22, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

I whould let u post it on my web site but i kinda have trouble with the dream weaver program so its not finished. but it sounds like a good idea.--Geoblu2 20:09, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

how would I make the link to it from pastebin?

-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 20:49, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

You can go to the above link, paste your story in the main box, click "submit", and it will give you the URL you can post on your user page. Trey56 23:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

oh.I just made 2 new friends!More inspiring eyes to enjoy my story! It goes live either tommorow afternoon, night,or friday afternoon.Just have to put in 12 more scentences, label the chapter, check out the font, and post it.Hooray for endless nights of parties, energy drinks, and my part time,court-ordered Jr.Geek Squad classes,it'll be ALL worth it.

[edit] Invitation

Greetings User TREY!If you've kept up with current events,I am releasing a story on a wedsite, and putting the link on my user page.On my talk page, there is going to be a party held in honor of said event.I hope you can make it to the talk page party. The party will starty at 8:00 PM EST Friday night. It will last an hour,at which the talk page will return to normal.Hope to see you there!

-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 02:34, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey there — that's great that you finished it! However, I should mention that you should hold that party in IRC or somesuch. Talk pages are supposed to be primarily used for discussion of article content (see HRWiki:Talk page etiquette#User talk). Laters, Trey56 02:44, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I have put up a post explaining my entire ordeal to this on my talk page, and if you thoroughly read it,you'll see that I need your help with the IRC.Whatev.Just read my problem on my talk page and tell me what I can do about the IRC problems.Hope you can help me solve the dilemma by next friday.I have to postpone the story.\

-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 21:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. Since it seems that ircatwork is down, and you are unable to use chat.hrwiki.org, the best advice I can give you is to download one of the clients recommended at HRWiki:IRC channel#IRC clients and connect that way. Let me know how it goes... Trey56 21:29, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Also,of no real significance,I'm touching up my sig and I wanted to know,is there a page with the codes for colors on it?

-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 21:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes, check out Help:Color codes. Trey56 21:57, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Trey,My time boxes are broked. How did this happen, teach me how to fix it,and thank you for everything else you've done, because I think the boxes are growing big to raise an army of time boxes to destroy me.Help me super computer genius man!

Trey sorry for inturupting but I also want to chang my sig. is there a limit to images i can upload? I've already uploaded like 3 images already. any ways i want to upload a Bad Graphics Homestar. ps happy 8,000 visit!!!!--Geoblu2 23:48, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

There is a limit of two personal images plus one more small one if you want to use it in a signature (see HRWiki:Personal images). I looked for a previously-uploaded image of Bad Graphics Homestar, but this is all I could find: Image:sbemail3.PNG. Hope that helps, Trey56 00:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

did YOU read about the delay, geoblu? How about you, trey?Just asking.

I'm just as sad as you are.Besides,I need to get one of those program IRC thingies.By the way trey(ha ha,I made a funny),do you know if I have to pay for those services?Cuz' I've checked the best one for Firefox, and there's no sign of a price. If I find out and install it,I should be able to have the party next week with the delayed story. -Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 01:10, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Most of those programs are free, I believe, so you shouldn't have to pay anything. If it asks you to pay, pick a different one. Hope that helps, Trey56 01:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

YAY!Geoblu's sig looks cooler.+5 to popularity -Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 01:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!! but i gotta delete one of my other images...okay!!--Geoblu2 01:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Did I sucsesfully delete it or am I in trouble?--Geoblu2 01:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

No to both — if you want to mark a page for speedy deletion, just place the text {{delete|insert reason here}}, and replace "insert reason here" with a compelling reason. Note that this template is distinct from {{tbd}} which is used for articles that need to be discussed before they're deleted. Anyhow, thanks for letting me know which image you wanted to get rid of. Laters, Trey56 01:47, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

I say scrap BOTH and try to get an image of the bad graphics skeleton from "retirement."Just a suggestion.A GOOD suggestion. That sounds good, doesn't it?DOESN'T IT!?!?!

[edit] Pointless armies and groups

Hey,trey?I see you like the Cheat a lot and was wondering, will YOU join the newest army,The Cheat Commandos, in the battle against nothing?I have a special userbox for members(Like me.) and we will try to take out our ultimate enemy!!!!!Whatever he/she/it is.Will you enlist? Our Grand Master,The Cheat plans to get at least 10 members for the heck of it.So enlist at our vague career day booth at my talk page to receive your sign of membership and your place at the armies rankings.(Most likely third in command).Just ponderin',

-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 01:59, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the invitation, but I'm going to decline. These types of groups often end up involved in a lot of talk page posts unrelated to article content. Again, thanks for thinking of me, though. Trey56 21:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] the life of an attractive young bachelor Sysop

Trey, how do you become a sysop? It seems so complex. Was it tough for you?Is there some restrictions to how to become one? Please tell me the someshat interesting story.

hoping for a reply,-Horrible Painting Chaos "77" story writer. 21:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

HRWiki:FAQ#How do I become an admin or sysop? You've already violated rule #9. ;) — Defender1031*Talk 21:46, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
HRWiki:FAQ#How do I become an admin or sysop? addresses this question, but if you're interested in becoming a sysop, I would strongly encourage you to be more involved in content of the articles on the wiki. Looking through your contributions, I see that you mostly edit user and user talk pages, whereas sysops typically invest most of their effort improving articles. I hope that helps, Trey56 21:48, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Uploading Images

Trey!! I want to upload a pic for my userpage, but when I click on the upload file, it says "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups "autoconfirmed", "Bots", "Sysops". Return to Main Page. Retrieved from "http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Special:Upload" Is this true? Please help! CaptainN 19:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, Captain N. Uploading of images by brand-new users is temporarily disabled for a short period of time, after which you will become "autoconfirmed" and be able to upload them. Judging from the time you created your account, I'd guess that this would happen for you in about 11-12 hours or so. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions! Trey56 19:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
That makes sense. Thanks for the info Trey! CaptainN 19:53, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem :) Trey56 21:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Table of Contents

Hey Trey, CaptainN here again, have another question for you. At the top of a lot of pages, like the one were on right now, there's a table of contents. Do those come automatically after a set number of sections, or do you have to add them, or what? Needing help, CaptainN 05:33, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, CaptainN. I'm not sure what the default setting is for when a table of contents appears, but I imagine it happens when the page has a certain number of defined headers.
I can tell you how to force the appearance or disappearance of a table of contents, however. If you want one, type __TOC__, and if you don't want one, type __NOTOC__. Hope that helps, Trey56 06:16, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Trey! CaptainN 15:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem :) Trey56 17:05, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Chaos. It's really okay either way... MediaWiki recommends that you archive your page, but you don't have to. Hope that helps, Trey56 02:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hebrew font for Welcome image

Hi Trey. Do you mind using a better Hebrew font for the Welcome image? I searched the web and foud this good one that are kinda similar to Bauhaus 93, but not quite. I really like Oria Bold, but it's too bold for you there's a lighter version of it. Tell me which one is more suitable and I'll email you the font. (Notice also that Guttman Haim for some reason don't have an exclamation mark, so it's Times New Roman) Elcool (talk)(contribs) 08:57, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Not at all! I'll try using Oria Bold and show you what it looks like... Trey56 12:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... so the graphics program I'm using is the only program on my computer that doesn't use your font correctly :( However, I tried a different method to make the letters puffier. Is this any better? Trey56 00:14, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Phlip was able to get your font working — how does this look? Trey56 04:04, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Looks great. I'm using it on User:E.L. Cool/Welcome/he right now. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 06:12, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The fanstuff wiki flash toons

Hey trey. just wonderin' if you know how to watch flash toons on the fanstuff wiki. I've been dying to watch the Airstar Flyer emails! - Don't say jorb 101

Hi there, Don't say jorb 101. I'm not that familiar with much of the content on the Fanstuff Wiki, so I can't tell you for sure, but this is my understanding: most of the emails are transcript only, and I believe that Fake Character Email Airstar Flyer falls into this category. That is, there's no flash to go along with it, just a made-up transcript.
I don't think it's actually possible to host Flash files on the Fanstuff Wiki. So, any Flash fanstuff would have to be hosted on another site and linked to, in which case you should be able to view it in your internet browser, just like you view Homestar Runner content. A good example of this Strong Devon's Emails.
