The last Don
I noticed on Limo-zeen page Perry_Palaroncini, you mentioned Don Chapman and Donnie Chapman. Are these 2 different people? If so further explanation, or this will be really confusing. I R F

- Good question--I'm confused as well; I think the claim is that Don Chapman (father) played Perry in the E-cards but Donnie Chapman (brother) played Perry in monster truck.

Sig characters
Hey *****6. Just so you know, ever since you changed your signature, the first five characters don't show up. I have a pretty standard configuration with quite a few fonts, so it's likely that a lot of other users are experiencing the same thing. Cheers! — **'* *** **m 17:21, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

- I got it all straightened out, and Jay and I just finished deleting all the pages. If that happens, just hang tight and wait for a sysop, 'cause you won't be able to fix it completely without deleting something. Sorry if I was abrupt, by the way. for templating my gifs... how do you do that??? sry for being a noob =( csours
20:57, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- For one of your two personal images, you add the line "{{personal-image|Csours}}" to the description. For your signature image, you add "{{personal-image-sig|Csours}}". If you ever want to abandon one of your images, add "{{personal-image-abandoned|Csours}}".

- I guess it's dot com would be the guy to ask, since he's the one who wrote the bit about the signature images. He clarified this comment a little on this page, indicating that he doesn't mind animated sig images, as long as they're not too distracting. I don't know, maybe it was fine the other way--they'll probably tell you if not! Anyway, sorry for the bother. Best,

Interesting edit summary

Sweet User Page
Nice User Page. If my computer wasn't so frustratingly slow, perhaps I'd have something as awesome. Maybe I'll get a userbox. But enough about me, no one wants to hear about that anyway... -RadSkat3 20:09, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Closing stuff
Hey there. I find that it's easier to close the STUFF item before making the archive. (To get the code, I just go one back in the history.) That way, you eliminate the (slim) possibility of someone changing the item between the time you archive it and close it, plus it gives you a handy red link to follow if the archive page is new. Keep on tranglin'! — It's dot com 19:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's a good idea — thanks for the tip!
Trey56 19:07, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey again. Lately I've noticed that you've been closing the STUFFs very soon after they've opened. I really feel that unless something has ridiculous support (like a vote difference around 20) or is patently true or false, then it shouldn't be closed for at least three or four days. I was still considering the chicken beak one, and I was probably going to vote against it. I think that making STUFF too speedy fosters the idea that you have to log in to the wiki every single day or your voice won't be heard (an attitude I think we should resist). As always, rock, rock on! — It's dot com 20:35, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. The facts you're referring to were ones whose fate I judged to be clearly determined, but I totally agree that it makes sense to give everyone at least a couple days to look at even one-sided facts before they're closed. The guidelines you mentioned will be helpful in making better judgments in the future. Thanks :)

French subtitles
Hi Trey. I saw you did some edits to the French subtitles, saying that there were "superfluous spaces". Allow me to clear this : in French, we put spaces after some of the punctuation. For example we put a space before (and after, of course) "!" and "?", as in "J'aime Homestar Runner ! Et toi ?".
It's a simple rule but it's not like that in English, so I understand why you tought I messed up with the spaces. But trust me, for a French reader it will be more clear with spaces like that.
But thanks for your help anyway ^^ I'll go translate some more...

Sniff
I liked your old siggy. Loafing 22:25, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks — I was just trying to conform to the signature policies...on the other hand, if I have the approval of a sysop, then maybe it's okay the other way :)
Trey56 23:56, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- What! No exceptions unless you pay me five bucks! Hmmm, the policies state that "preferably a signature would include no more than one image", so it would be acceptable to have two. It's a bit tougher on animated images, which are "strongly discouraged". As a sysop, I do encourage users to follow these recommendations. But on the other hand, your old siggy did conform to the rules, just not the recommendations; so there was nothing wrong with it ;-) Loafing

Well, yes... but that translation is Horrible. Even I couldn't understand... It was just put in an online translator and it just gave out gibberish. I just put that as a "dummy" I got the english translation and is working on that right now.
- Aha; I see. Online translators do suck — you'd think with all the modern technology available nowadays they could make better ones... :)
Trey56 03:37, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- One might think so, but even our English-English stuff doesn't work. Try putting a semi-colon in a sentance in Microsoft Word... and see how terrified it gets. Green squily line and a "hey, get that outa here."

- That reminds me of a talk I attended by Kurt Vonnegut, who ordered us never to use semicolons; in his opinion they're androgenous (he used a stronger word there) punctuation marks that can't make up their mind one way or the other...

HELP!!
Um, I tried to upload a .png file for my sig and this message keeps coming up: "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the file and upload again." I keep trying again and it doesn't work... and you're not a sysop?!?! WELL YOU SHOULD BE!! Very Seriously, TheYellowDart—(t/c)
- I can think of a couple reasons why you might be getting that message. One thing that might be happening is that there's something weird going on with the .png part of the filename (for example, the file thinks that it's suppressing the .png, but the rest of the name is FILENAME.png, so that the actual file's name is FILENAME.png.png). So, I would try fiddling around with that part of the filename. If that doesn't fix it for you, you might have to try taking the screenshot (assuming that's what it is) again. Hope this helps,

- Um, actually I converted a Marshie icon file (.ico) thst I downloaded off of H*R to a .png. It may be corrupted now that I think about it. But the funny thing is, when I open it (let's say I use the program PAINT) it works. Hmm... TheYellowDart—(t/c) Merry Christmas!
- Hmm...I'm not sure what the problem is. If you direct me to the .ico file, I'd be happy to convert it to a png file and upload it for you.
