Pants
First off, I'm a user here, so the addition or deletion of material on mainspace pages is kinda like my job. It's not just Loafing's. Second off, I still need to (and already have) take it to the talk page. Bluebry 00:33, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- I lied when I said I didn't want your input. Kevin G. Dannerson 20:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Heylo. Please do not add anything about any irony about Homsar mentioning pants to DNA Evidence. All this is covered in the Pants article. It's also debatable whether it's ironic or not. For example, I don't think it is at all. Also, that's not somethign between you and me. The wiki is edited by everybody, so Bluebry is more than welcome to edit the article. And lastly, since the contents of this wiki seem to be important to you, you should really create an account! It'll make editing much easier for you. Loafing
00:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Addition: Actually, there has never been speculation about whether Homsar wears pants or not. Loafing
00:46, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- two years later: if i remember correctly, this^ was my whole point about the edit in question. If there is so much speculation about whether or not homestar wears pants, there should be equal speculation about whether or not homsar wears pants.

- OK I made an account anyway, and yes you're right. I knew from the start that ironic was not the right word and I was hoping that someone would just change it instead of deleting the entire edit.
- *You're right that Bluebry is certainly welcome to edit the page. And I can't figure out how to do a signature. 00:50, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

- I can't believe that the whole edit was erased just because one word was wrong! I decided "notable" is a better word than "ironic". would that be okay to put in the page? Kevin G. Dannerson 20:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

- Hi there, Kevin G. I looked at the edit you're talking about. In my opinion, it's not notable — Homsar's just saying his usual mostly meaningless things. But you can participate in the discussion at Talk:DNA Evidence#Homsar's pants if you like, and perhaps others will agree with you. Talk atcha later,
Trey56 21:03, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Mainly I noticed that Homsar made a somewhat legitimate (sp?) sentence. It's not like he said "you shanked my jengaship" or anything nonsensical like that. Kevin G. Dannerson 21:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

- I see your point, but on the other hand, the fact that he's not wearing different pants and that it's not Easter makes it nonsensical. However, it sounds like what you're talking about is information for Analysis of Homsar's Speech Patterns. That page attempts to attribute ordinary meaning to Homsar's seemingly nonsensical phrases. Hope that helps...

- Thanks I didn't know that page existed. It's not the first time that's happened to me. Kevin G. Dannerson 21:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

- No prob; it's kind of an obscure article anyways :)
Trey56 21:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- two years later: Still not sure how either of those things make it nonsensical. Homsar could have been wearing a pair of pants (not constantly) since Easter (a grand total of one month) and they are getting tight.

Weclome
Weclome to the wiki! Doesn't it feel much nicer this way? Has fun editing! :-D Loafing 00:51, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've been trying to decide for several weeks now when to create an account, and it wasn't until after I had already made one that I saw the recommendation to make one. Kevin G. Dannerson 01:01, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- For whatever reason, I don't feel like I really need to be weclomed. I have been editing pages for several months now and I feel like a veteran. Thanks anyway. Kevin G. Dannerson 20:54, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
A question
How do i make a contents box for the top of my pages? i see them all over the place and i want one for each of my pages so how do i put one there? Kevin G. Dannerson 03:31, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey Kevin! I'm sorry for the waaaay late reply (I have a bad habit of doing this, and having to subsequently apologize for it), but I wanted to let you know I responded to your comment regarding my 3rd contest. Hope all is well and I look forward to more math discussions or puzzle solving! --Stux 21:35, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Teixiera
Even though you prefer college over pro. Hope Teixeira works out for you, though. He's a good one, and will be tough to completely replace. — It's dot com 03:43, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- haha lol idk if you remember in the home run derby a few years ago when teixiera played for texas still and chris berman called him Mark "Yellow Rose of" Teixiera. He has a great name for a texas player and i kind of liked it that the braves had the player with the longest last name in history and the most number of a's in his last name in history... Kevin G. Dannerson 03:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- ps not saying i don't like the results of the trade. Teixiera certainly is a great player and Saltalamacchia is getting more work in Texas than in Atlanta. Kevin G. Dannerson 04:15, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Sig
You told me (here) that your "signature needs a little bit of color in it" and asked for my help. Sure, I'll help you. What do you want your sig to be like? Keep in mind that you don't have...
- Have you changed your mind about this? It's been a month and a half and you still haven't answered my questions..
OptimisticFool 21:36, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't had a whole lot of time to come on here this summer, but you can see here that i once tried to put some color in it, but i didn't like the result, so i reverted it inside of an hour. So i'm not sure now if i really need to have a better signature. i mean, i figured something like putting an orange couch next to my orange name, by which i mean
The Knights Who Say Ni, would just be plagiarism, so i don't want to do that, not to mention the fact that it doesn't fit. do you have any ideas that don't involve plagiarism? in short, i guess i would still like to have a unique signature, and you could maybe still make one since i can never seem to find the time (and you just wrote something on here on my oldth birthday, which i had to mention. i should have said something a few days earlier)

- Can you give me something to go on? Have a favorite color? Do you want an image of some kind (and if so, what kind)? Here's a quick one I came up with using a crop from this image:
TheKnightsWhoSayNi
- Or there's this, using this image:
TheKnightsWhoSayNi
- I just went with grey for now, since it goes well with those images. So, what do you think?

- Okay, and what do you think of the sigs? Have any suggestions for things you'd like to see?
OptimisticFool 02:16, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- honestly, i would prefer a more h*r-themed picture, so if you could maybe find a picture with The Cheat, since i have sometimes associated "Ni!" and "Meh!" in the same idea. is there anything with The Cheat wearing sunglasses? that would be awesome. or if there isn't one, you could just find a cool font and/or color, that would be okay too. i have an idea: how about The Cheat wearing sunglasses on the left and Strong Bad's eyes on the right? i've got the sb eyes picture
The Knights Who Say Ni
02:30, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, found this Cheat wearing cool shades in theme song..
TheKnightsWhoSayNi
- That about takes care of all the room you've got for a sig, unless you use a narrow font, maybe like this:
The Knights Who Say Ni
- But Arial Narrow may not be a universally-had font. Anyway, I don't find this "sb eyes picture" that you say you have. Where is it?
OptimisticFool 03:04, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- one time i cut Strong Bad's eyes out of a picture of Strong Bad. i haven't uploaded it. what i meant earlier was "i've got the sb eyes picture so you don't have to worry about that side." and i can see the arial narrow.
The Knights Who Say Ni

Probably was a multitude of things. I was also running two messengers at the time and maybe I had a poor internet connection for a split second. (Though if it needs a perfect storm to work, that's DEFINITELY not notable.) And as I said, my laptops have done crazy things. (The one before this one, once shut off Internet because it actually hated a friend's photo I saved on it. No, there was nothing wrong with it. My laptop just hated it.) Anyways, cheers. :D -WarthogDemon 06:53, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

- just about. but thanks for that. in a perfect wiki, i would have preferred no orange around the sign, but don't worry about it. this will be just fine. and at this point, it would actually be a bit more work on my part if the background did disappear. in unrelated news, when i first put the second "eat a pony" user box, crack stuntman had a pink background that i didn't like. i said nothing. before too long, the pink background went away anyway.

Edit summaries out of context
And again what? — It's dot com 23:18, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- the same edit i made to hremail3184 one minute earlier.
actually when i saw the section title, i thought you would be asking about the "today is wednesday" edit summary one minute before that. that was talking about 280 being divisible by 7, meaning 280 days later would also be monday, so 281 days would be tuesday. and i only realized that when the dayssince template said 282.The Knights Who Say Ni

- Yes, I knew from the start. I was using the page history to illustrate my point rather than just coming right out and saying it. I changed your edit summary to the above as you requested. (For those following along, the original summary was "and again".) — It's dot com 00:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

- this time it was on the same page. Jay: "if there's no has there, there's no has here. do you get what i has said?" referring to when i got rid of "has" in the subtitle transcript, and to his corresponding removal of "has" in the article. This time i changed "literately" to "literally" in both places. so, "Jay - yes, i get what you has said." if the italics would make more sense in the edit summary, then please go ahead and change it to that.

- What would make sense is something like "fixed spelling", because that's what the edit actually was. Edit summaries are for explaining what you did, or even for arguing why you think what you did is right. What they're not for is conversation, particularly not when there are edits in between yours and the one you're replying to, especially particularly not when you're making an unrelated edit solely for the purpose of having the conversation, and really especially particularly not when you're answering a rhetorical question. Don't get me wrong; I think you're doing a great job with the actual editing—I just think conversations belong on talk pages and edit summaries should be able to stand alone. — It's dot com 22:49, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- ok i get it now. it wasn't until i posted the last reply until i realized that Jay wasn't necessarily talking to me. where i come from, "you" is almost always singular, so i didn't even think about the fact that Jay most likely didn't come from the same place.
there was a time when i always tried to cram everything into an edit summary instead of taking it to a talk page. then when i realized how much easier talk pages are to deal with than i thought at first, i made an account. anyway, how about if you changed it to "literally" like in the subtitles edit? at what point am i abusing your power to ask you to change my edit summaries? The Knights Who Say Ni

Things that annoy me
And just why, exactly, are you annoyed by the "Things that annoy me" section on my user page? RickTommy (edits) 05:00, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- You're not the only user on this wiki who has such a section on their user page, hence the reason you asked this question. notice that doesn't say "other people". What makes you think that part is pointed at you? all right, it sort of was, but it's meant to look like i'm making fun of myself, b/c i am, and i don't want to make personal attacks. all the others on my list either had happened multiple times, and were sometimes caught months after the fact, or were just being annoyed with myself.
- to answer your question though, (*sigh* did you have to ask?) it was mainly the fact that something new was always popping up, and that it looked like you were devoting your wiki presence to that section of your user page.

these peoples try to fade my edits
What was wrong with this, apart from the left out "you"? (It was meant to say "At the end, if you roll the mouse over the Bad Graphics Ghost...") The main issues I was trying to correct were a) it shouldn't refer to the email as "this one", b) it shouldn't mention the appearance of the bad graphics ghost as if it's an Easter egg, since it happens at the end of the toon and it's already mentioned in the transcript, and c) there's no real reason to put quotes around Bad Graphics Ghost. All of these things still need fixed. Is there a better way to do it?--.Johnny Jupiter! talk cont 04:26, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- Mainly the issue was we try to avoid the use of "you" in the directions about Easter Eggs and in the Fun Facts. a) yeah i meant to leave that out, sorry about that. b) yeah, you're probably right c) i just liked how it looked better w/quotes, but i'm not opposed to leaving them out. That's all; if you want to put it back in w/o the "you" wording, feel free.
