Whose Dan is this, anyway?

The name Dan appears many times, especially in the newer games. The name is frequently used as "[verb] 'em up, Dan!" and "[adjective] Dan". After The Brothers Chaps were interviewed by homestarrunner.net member "Dan" in late 2003, the use of "Dan" became more prolific. Dan is also the name of one of the Chaps' cousins, which is one of the reasons that this name is used so often.
