Tough loss

Tough loss for your guys last night, what with the grand slam and all. And against the team you hate the most. ;) (But that guy was totally out trying to steal second in the bottom of the ninth, so it shouldn't have even gone into extra innings.) — It's dot com 16:04, 25 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me cope with the loss. Game time temp: 97. I was at the game last night, and in the upper deck! I was almost sure Hector Luna (that guy) was out! It kept us alive though and then David Eckstein hit a double and drove him in! Dang Nefi Perez! Guess what I said when nefi came up with two outs? "Oh! I'm shaking! It's Nefi Perez!" Guess I should have been! Then when I was leaving there was a HUGE amont of drunk cubs fans running around with there drunkness. Cubs fans are bad enough, but drunk cubs fans? I can't stand them!--bkmlb

Good thing you weren't in center field during BP. Temperature reading: 119°! — It's dot com

And on saturday, I was there too, the field temp was 120°! — Good thing I was in the shade the whole time! Lots of water and wet towels on your neck --bkmlb

And I thought it was hot at Ameriquest Field in Arlington! I've pretty much decided night games are the way to go whenever possible (although yesterday's Cubs–Cards game was a night game, so whattayagonnado?). What were they thinking starting Saturday's game at 2:15?! — It's dot com 21:48, 25 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I think the reason saturday's game was at 2:15 was because fox wanted it to broadcast so america could see it. Who cares about the players and fans going to the games. But it wasn't their fault that it was 90° plus.--bkmlb

New Stadium

Oh, and are you excited about your new stadium? What is it now, like 17 days until? — It's dot com

As of July 24th, there are 28 games left at busch stadium. The last regular season game will be played on October 2nd, a 1:15pm game. Yeah I am excited. On the new stadium they now have seats in the upper deck, the B on the sign that will eventually be Busch Stadium, and alot of the walls around it. Three weeks after the season (or playoffs) ends they will implode the current busch. Then, they'll build the rest of left field going into where the current busch is now. You can go to the cards page on the new stadium [| here] --bkmlb
Whoa. That's cool. I wish the Rangers had a 360° model of their stadium! I wonder how long that took to make. I wonder if that's how buildings are designed now... all on computer. — It's dot com 03:08, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
Just in case you're not watching my page for a reply to your question, I wanted to let you know I've posted one here. — It's dot com

HEY! DON'T YOU BE TALKEN ABOOT THOSE SOX.

HEY! DON'T YOU BE TALKEN ABOOT THOSE SOX, THARE MORE AWXEM THEN THE CARDS{mocking voice}!!!!! Thechamp 22:31, 5 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Wait, ..... what?--bkmlb 22:48, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Allow me to explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up. Thechamp is from New Hampshire, a state that, although I can't remember anything notable about it specifically, feels a closeness with the rest of New England. So, naturally, they all feel like the Red Sox' victory over your Cardinals was their victory. Hence, according to some, "thare more awxem." Um, yeah, okay. — It's dot com 23:03, 8 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thank you Dot com. The champ, that was pointless. Okay, your sox record as of now is 64-47. The Cards are 71-41. Yes, the red sox did whip us in the the world seires, winning their first world seires since 1918. But in June of '05 the cards took two of three from the red sox. How's Renteria workin' out for ya? Eckstien has been a good replacement. The red sox will probably make to the playoffs but they will 'NOT' win the world seires--bkmlb 13:44 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Here's hoping the Sox don't make it back to the Series - or the playoffs. I wish your Cards luck (you might want to wish the same to my Yankees...nine games to go, and it's white-knuckle all the way!) — THE SMOKING MONKEY 13:06, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thank you. And yes, I'm rooting against the sox. With Randy Johnson and Mike Mussina coming around, I think the yankees have an great chance of making the playoffs. How about them Indians too. They're on a roll.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 14:59, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I can't tell you how embarrassing it is to have a 200-gajillion dollar payroll and have your playoff hopes hanging by a thread. I'm pretty resigned to the Yanks making a quick exit from the postseason anyway - the Tribe looks really scary with that core of young, hungry players. What chance do you give the Cards in the postseason? THE SMOKING MONKEY 15:30, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I think the Astros will win the wild card, so in the first round we'll play the Padres. That'll be a piece a cake. Then that leaves the Braves vs the Astros. I think the 'Stros will win, because of their pitching. So it will probably be another seven game seires with the Cards coming out on top, but this year we have better pitching than last year, so it might be five or six. I think on the american league side it'll be the Indians or, sorry to say now, the Red Sox. That's only because of Manny Rameirez and David Ortiz. If we play the Red Sox, we'll win the world seires and if we play the Indians, it'll be a close one. Overall, hopefully, the Cards will win the seires either way. Pitching is so important. Both the Cards and Indians have good pitching, but the Sox really don't. Oh! And about the White Sox! I think they'll go out in the first round, at least from the way they've been playing now.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 16:49, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Those recent GIFs

Hey B.K., I removed those GIFs you recently added. First of all, they wouldn't show up without a MSN account. To nearly everybody they appear as broken links. Second, anytime you try to link to a file on www.msnusers.com, some computers (all the ones I tested) actually try to log you in for every image you have (in this case, three times). Sorry. — It's dot com 14:49, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Okay! thank you. That's weird though.--bkmlb 15:03, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Is there a way to re-size it, or should I find a different picture?--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:49, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I'm checking on that, but in the meantime, make sure "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" is checked in your preferences. — It's dot com

Checked box. Thanks for the help--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:49, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

According to this, external images can be actual size only. You'll need to create a smaller external file, or upload the file to the wiki. I don't know what our policy is on the latter choice, but it might not be a problem for something so small. — It's dot com 04:03, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try it.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 04:06, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Date & Time on sig

If it just my computer, then never mind. But, why is it when I put my sig in it does this thing--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 21:19, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I think it's because your sig is inserting a return at the end of itself. When the timestamp adds itself on, it starts on a new line with a space, which tells the Wiki you want something in a <pre> tag.
--videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif, 23:25, 15 August 2005 (BST)

An example of which is my sig above. I'll try and fix the offending return in yours...

You had a missing </font> tag. I inserted one, and that seems to have done the trick. — It's dot com 22:33, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)
See also the beginning of this discussion for info on using the <span> tag instead of the <font> tag. — It's dot com

Good eyes

I don't know if you saw my comment in the recent changes, but good eyes, bkmlb... the green is only 1/128 different. I had to zoom WAY in and open it in an image editor to be sure of this. — It's dot com 17:57, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thank you! Before the toon ends it's A LOT easier to see it. But after they make the screen grayer and put the end and back buttons it's a lot harder and I do need to zoom in. But before the screen becomes gray, I didn't have to zoom in at all. With the swf version, I made the sceen as big and as small as possible. I still could see it, but on the smaller window, I could only see the part by the white line clearly enough to. That's probably because I knew it was there, but, oh well!--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 18:13, 23 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Hey, how do you put the templates in your profile? (the transparent images behing the text) I want to use some custom templates.

The Strong Bad one is: {| cellspacing="3" |- valign="top" |width="50%" class="MainPageWikiStuffBox" style="border:1px solid #99f; padding: .5em 1em 1em; color: #000; background-color: #f0f0ff"| some of your text <div align="right" class="noprint"> </div> |}

The Homestar one is: {| cellspacing="3" |- valign="top" |width="50%" class="MainPageKnowledgeBaseBox" style="border: 1px solid #f99; padding: .5em 1em 1em; color: #000000; background-color: #fff3f3"| some of your text <div align="right" class="noprint"> </div> |}

The Cheat one is: <div style="min-height: 450px;" class="IntroPageBox"> Your text </div>

And the Stick one is: <div class="TheStickBox"> Your Text </div> . But, I can't help you with costume ones. Oh yeah! Just so you know, to sign you name on talk pages, just do this after your post: ~~~~ and for STUFF ~~~ . Yep i know But I didn't when I posted that.

Any Idea how I could use custom not, "costume" templates? Would I just replace the "Intropagebox" with "the picture direct url"?

What do i replace or add to make those templates work? This darn wiki code is confusing

Oops almost forgot, Arrow'd 18:26, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Umm..I'm not sure about replacing the "intro Page box" with "the picture direct url". Let me try and put all of the templates on your working on templates section on your user page. The Cheat one did work though.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:36, 7 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Maybe it was just my computer, but I couldn't see some of the template, the box was covering it. But now that I look at the history, it's fine. Washed out

The image you just uploaded (and some others) look washed out, especially where you can see The Paper. What's the deal with that? — It's dot com P.S. I see that the dumb Cardinals won the division again. ;) — It's dot com 01:36, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Okay, I am not sure. Currently I have a Macintosh Computer running on version 10.2.8. To make images, I do the following:

  1. I go to the .swf version of what ever toon it is.
  2. I make a .pdf of it
  3. I put the .pdf into Apple Works version 6.2.4 and convert it into a .png
  4. I make the image so it is under the 100k standards and upload it.

Sometimes, the image doesn't fit the window, so I'll make it smaller and so it is within the standards. Sometimes in the process of making it fit in the window, it washes it out. When I started making images, (example: most of the ss getting hurt pics) I would use power point and convert it into a .png. When I knew about the standards I used Apple works. When I try and make the image the same size as the .pdf, the file size is huge. Like, 500k! I'm confused. Can you help? P.S. Yeah, what did the rangers do? ;) --minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 01:55, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Wow, that's a lot of steps. When I press Command+Shift+4, my cursor turns into a crosshairs. By clicking and dragging across a retangular area, I can capture part of the screen (you can also capture the whole screen by pressing Command+Shift+3). The resulting file is saved on the desktop. The file should already be in PNG format. I captured an image about the size of a H*R screen, and the file size was only 44 KB. Let me know whether this helps. — It's dot com 03:03, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I do the cmd+shift+4 and it comes up as a pdf. I just made a pdf of the index screen it's self and it is 68kb. Then, I converted it into a png and it is 104kb! On one of my friends little newer macs I tryed the cmd+shift+4 and it came up as a png. I am still not sure why all this happens. Is it because of my operating system? I don't know. P.S. I already knew about the cmd+shift+4, but i'm surprised about the file results.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:13, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I have searched my help files with no luck as to why it's saving it as a PDF. Obviously, you have some setting set weird, but I don't know where to tell you to look. As a workaround, you might try using Grab (Applications→Utilities). That should save it as a TIFF. You might also try Picture Viewer to convert it to a PNG. — It's dot com 03:31, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

To compare the grab with the pdf. I made a pdf and tiff of about the same thing from the fluffy puff mashmallows commercial. The pdf is 52 kb. The tiff is 104kb. I made pngs from both of them. The one I made with the pdf with out reszing it is 92kb. The one with the tiff is 76kb. That's kinda wierd.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 22:20, 21 Sep 2005 (UTC)

quiz thingy

good job on finding my secret page. It's not very hard. Yeah, I'll pay you when I'm a really famous writer and have like, 2 billion bucks. Nice job on the quiz. Of course, I'm guessing you went to the "i love u" page to try and find the answer to question # 8. --— talk Bubsty edits 02:23, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Text Colors. (Thanks but I just needed the wiki code)

I am fully aware of the #(color) but I wasn't sure how to use it to change the color of the text. I went back and figured out how to do it on my own. I realized that I didn't just need <color: #99FF00> but I also needed the, size: 100%. Thanks anyways. =D

But, how do I make a sig that I can use on the wiki. I know how to make it, but I dont know how to put it on the wiki. Do I have to post the sig manually, or is it like the ~~~~?

Well, first, you make User:Arrow'd/sig. Then, make your preferences look exactly like this:

asig1vc.jpg
Then, save your preferences, and your done! Then, you can do the four tildes thing and it will appear.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 02:57, 27 Sep 2005 (UTC)
