Although it has never been indicated whether any of the characters ever went to college, such institutions have been referenced multiple times in the Homestar Runner body of work.

- Homestar Runner Goes For the Gold — Homestar says that as help for the swimming competition, Homestar getting a submarine and Strong Bad getting a fish crammed through his head are the "standard collegiate swimming rules", which the Grape Fairie subsequently displays.
