[edit] Signature

Hi Lapper. I moved your sig to User:Lapper/sig (with a slash), because that's the right format. (You may have been following Rogue Leader's example with the period, but that's actually incorrect and it's too late to fix it. Oops.) — It's dot com 00:14, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Also, you don't need to put a timestamp in your sig. Four tildes automatically adds one for you. — It's dot com 02:36, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
He means to post your sig do this: ~~~~, and your sig and time stamp will appear automatically, with out you having to put five tildes in your sig. Again, in STUFF you put three tildes. If you had four tildes in your sig and put it in stuff, it would be your sig and timestamp, when you don't need a timestamp.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:27, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hey again Lapper. Are you meaning to put two em dashes in front of your signature? You've got one in the code of /sig itself, but you're also inserting one as text in front of that. Just wondering, 'cause it looks kinda funny. — It's dot com 15:54, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Yes, back then I just was trying to remove the — code from my signature preferences and into my signature itself, but it just didn't work. I guess it'll have to stay the way it is. — Lapper (talk) 20:47, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Misplaced votes

Some of your recent votes in STUFF don't match with the edit summaries as you saved them. All of your edit summaries read "to decline" but your votes here and here were actually to accept. Just letting you know. — It's dot com 06:01, 17 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I actually did notice that - about three seconds after I pushed the save button. Thanks, Dot Com. Guess I was a bit overeager to vote. — Lapper (talk) 06:05, September 17, 2005 (UTC)
So the votes themselves are in the right places? That's what I'm most concerned about. — It's dot com 06:07, September 17, 2005 (UTC)
Indeed they are. Thanks for your concern. — Lapper (talk) 06:16, September 17, 2005 (UTC)

Hey, Lapper. Hate to bother you, but looks like you voted twice on one STUFF fact: once in each column. I dunno which you want to remove, but the vote is here. Just to let you know. --DorianGray

Whoops. I always have trouble with these new fangled stuff boxes. I'll do it in a minute. — Lapper (talk) 17:15, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Just so you know, you accidentally voted for the original fact and its revision. Just letting you know. Has Matt? (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know, Has Matt?. — Lapper (talk) 23:02, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eagle Scout project

I just wanted to tell you to not procrastinate on your Eagle rank if you can help it. In a few years your life will more than likely be a lot busier than it is now, making all the work you need to do much more difficult than it already is. Trust me, I know from experience. I earned Life when I was your age and put off a lot of things until last month (one month before my 18th birthday), which made it much more stressful. All that said, congratulations on making it to where you are now, and I wish you good luck in finishing what you have left to do. small_logo.pngUsername-talk 03:32, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)

It's really great to know that there's an experienced scouter around here. I actually stopped procrastinating this summer, and started getting down to business. I have three merit badges to receive remaining; personal fitness, citizenship in the community, and citizenship in the world. They aren't so bad, so I'm not incredibly worried. Let me know if you have any good ideas on an Eagle scout project, Some HSR themed username. And thanks so much for your concern. — Lapper (talk) 11:24, September 22, 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, those last few should be easy to finish up, but don't put them off because of that just to be safe. As far as a project goes, I'm not sure where you live exactly in Missouri but there were a variety of trails in my town that needed work, and that's what I ended up doing. If you can't or don't want to do that, I'm sure you could talk to local organization heads or town/city government officials for ideas as well. Hope that helps. small_logo.pngUsername-talk 14:23, 22 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I'm really not that outdoorsy for a scout. Ironic, eh? I actually have an idea for a fundraiser or book drive, and I'm also doing the Troop's website on the side. I also might do something for my temple or youth group. Thanks a bunch for the ideas, Some HSR themed username. — Lapper (talk) 20:10, September 22, 2005 (UTC)
Get it done! Hear me? Get it done! The Eagle application looks a like a lot more than it is (especially getting all those people to to agree to write letters about you and then actually do them) when your 18th birthday is exactly six days away. And like the both of you, I had Life since I was 15. I think it might have even been exactly a week after my 15th birthday. Oh, and Personal Fitness is one of t he awful ones a.k.a.: the ones with the 3 month requirements. My last three were those exact three. For your project, you could see if your county or coty government has been putting off any "minor" beautification projects and offer to do one. Mine was identifying, cataloging, describing, and making a sign about the animals that inhabit a pond in the park by my house, so that when people go to feed the ducks, they know what they're feeding. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 06:39, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the input, ACupOfCoffee. Personal Fitness is indeed a difficult merit badge, but I'm handling it. I currently need Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Personal Fitness, and Communications, as well as a project. — Lapper (talk) 17:46, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Gender quote

I am not a guy! Lol what I meant was that one of my biggest pet peeves was when people CALL me a guy. Thus, confusing my gender. Homestramy20|Talk 05:48, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

No, I meant that you hated it when people confused your gender, but you confused me as a girl. The two sentences were miles apart in time, but it was still hilarious. — Lapper (talk) 13:59, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
OOhhh I understand now. But yeah it still was pretty funny. Homestramy20|Talk 18:06, September 24, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Help pages

I think I may have a couple ideas. They may not be any good, but I'll give it a shot. Maybe you could show what to put for a welcoming message (and how to sign up for the welcoming comitee), and how to add links and all that minor stuff. They would have been useful if I had known them when I was new. Homestramy20|Talk 19:49, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Okay, so a welcoming template and a links template. Gotcha. Let me know if you think of anymore. — Lapper (talk) 19:54, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Will do Homestramy20|Talk 19:56, September 24, 2005 (UTC)
Well, I think you may get alot of good ideas if you look through Help:Editing. May as well, everything like that is there. You could just keep on makin' it simpler. I think what you are doing is a great idea, for those less computer-smart people. Sure helped me :D Homestramy20|Talk 21:47, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

BTW, nice new sig ;) Homestramy20|Talk 22:21, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hi Lapper. I checked out ur image help page, and now I know how to make an image. Thanks! --— talk Bubsty edits 16:15, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

You're very welcome, Bubsty. The help pages can be used as templates as well. Easy to post on talk pages. Glad I could help. By the way, is that a new signature? — Lapper (talk) 17:31, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Yes it is. Howd u know? — talk Bubsty edits 18:24, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Hi Lapper. Some of your subpages, like the help section, look to be quite useful. (Side note: I think a good long-term goal would be for them to move to the Help namespace. Ask me about that later.) However, the one called "chain" is not in compliance with our guidelines for user spaces. — It's dot com 20:58, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Wow, thanks, It's dot com. My simplifed help pages and I would be honored to appear on a Help namespace. The chain one is simply a list of chain conversations, kind of like a talk page, in which I post for user enjoyment. Please reconsider letting it stay. — Lapper (talk) 21:05, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
If dot com doesn't really want it to stay, you could just have a section on your talk page for it.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 21:07, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Hmmm. Sounds okay, but It would take up an enormous amount of space, text wise. — Lapper (talk) 21:09, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
It really doesn't have to do with what I want personally. Subpages simply need to be furthering the knowledge base in some way. What you're planning sounds like it would be better on the Fanstuff. — It's dot com 21:11, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I was just thinking about that. I don't really want it to be there, for some reason or another. But the guidelines for the spaces allow things that would otherwise be on talk pages. Just a thought. — Lapper (talk) 21:12, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
It also says not to abuse the privilege. Why don't you want it on the Fanstuff? It would fit there. — It's dot com 21:16, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
You know, it was just off the top of my head anyway. Maybe I could just confine it to the talk page like you said. — Lapper (talk) 21:18, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Okay, let's do that for now. I'll give you a couple of minutes to move whatever you need to. Thanks for understanding. — It's dot com 21:21, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Okay, how's that? — Lapper (talk) 21:24, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Cool. Thanks again. — It's dot com
So, It's dot com, do you really mean you'll put my help templates in a help namespace? That would be so cool. — Lapper (talk) 21:33, 25 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Certainly. — It's dot com 21:58, September 25, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Lapper, I just noticed your link help page and I thought I'd give a few notes; For Thorax Corporation links, type Thorax: before the link. For Videlectrix links, type Videlectrix: before the link. The Homestar Runner, Yahoo!, Videlectrix, THORAX CORP and Email icons will only show up in Mozilla Firefox. In IE, they just look like ordinary Wikipedia links. Just thought I'd tell you. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 16:55, October 3, 2005 (UTC)

Wait. What do those links look like in Firefox? Do you have a screenshot? — It's dot com 16:58, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Here's a screenshot. --videlectrix.pngENUSY discussionitem_icon.gif user.gifmail_icon.gif 17:06, October 3, 2005 (UTC)
Hmm. Those are cool and all, but I'm not sure I like them. Do they show up much in running text, because I know I'm not designing pages with them in mind. By the way, in IE (and therefore to a lot if not most users), there's a big gap after the V- in Venusy (also after your discussion speech bubble). (Most people probably don't have the Joystix games font, either, but my hunch is that you already know that.) — It's dot com 17:19, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Ooh. I totally forgot. Thanks a bunch; I'll add them soon. — Lapper (talk) 20:39, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

There are already help pages on STUFF. Your instructions are incorrect. — It's dot com 23:36, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

I apologize. You may delete the page. — Lapper (talk) 00:22, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
No probalo. — It's dot com 00:51, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

When would you like to move your others to the Help namespace? What's your time table for that? I'm thinking names like "Help:Signature" would be appropriate. — It's dot com 00:51, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Nice! If we're doing that, then I'm thinking that maybe we should also link to them through somewhere, like maybe through Help:Editing. Or even a link in Template:welcome maybe? Otherwise they might be hard to find. Just brainstorming here... — Lapper (talk) 17:32, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
At the very least they should be listed on Help:Contents. Also brainstorming... Wikipedia has a tutorial section that I'm thinking we could model this after, if we wanted to get really fancy. But that might be overreaching, I don't know. — It's dot com 17:41, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
You mean like another link on Contents? More people on the chat channel would see it then... hmmmm.... I don't think I have enough pages to create the Wikipedia deal. Oh! Maybe they could be linked to right next to the buttons when you edit! You know, in line with the Cancel and Editing help links. Maybe.... — Lapper (talk) 17:53, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Hey Lapper. Good job on your troll help page! I would just reccomend adding how to add a troll to it. --minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 23:48, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch, bkmlb. What do you mean by how to add a troll? Do you mean to WikiTroll? I also may add how to revert a page. — Lapper (talk) 00:33, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Yeah. Sorry for the confusion. Those help pages are useful! Dot com was right! --minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 00:36, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Okay, will do. Thank you so much. It's really fun to help people. — Lapper (talk) 00:38, 4 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Nice new help page! — talk Bubsty edits 19:50, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you so much, Bubsty. I've been putting the project on hold for a long time. — Lapper (talk) 19:55, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi, nice going on the new IRC help page, but don't you think the font is too big? I know it's for new users, but I think that they can read a smaller font than that ;) Elcool (talk)(contribs) 09:47, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Sure. It's totally preliminary. It's not even in the help namespace yet, so I was just working it around. Thanks for the input. — Lapper (talk) 16:48, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Hey, Lapper. I came up with a sort of idea for a new help page. It's a page for minor stuff too small to have their own separate pages. It could include things like how to make a redirect, how to make a subpage, and stuff like that. Good idea, bad idea? Feedback, please. --DorianGray 19:53, December 4, 2005 (UTC)

That's a great idea, DorainGray. I'll get started on that. By the way, have you checked the TriviaTime scores lately? — Lapper (talk) 19:56, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Not since I got 6565. What, am I in last place now? ;) I know you took first... --DorianGray 20:01, December 4, 2005 (UTC)
No, you stand a close second place by only 5 or 600 points. You don't have to worry. — Lapper (talk) 20:03, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm wondering Dorian, if you had that help page idea after doing this edit. — talk Bubsty edits 20:03, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Yes, Bubsty, actually I did... And the bit about subpages is something I myself have wanted to know for a while. And I'm sure Lapper will think of some other things to add to it as well... --DorianGray 20:07, December 4, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Strong Bad Email Songs revert

Why did you revert my move of Strong Bad Email Raps to Strong Bad Scroll Button Songs? -- Super Sam 12:43, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I don't want to sound like I'm speaking for him, but I think he made the right choice. You should hear from more than one person before making a significant change like that, and sysop backing would be helpful as well. small_logo.pngUsername-talk 12:47, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I asked for opinions on the 15th. That's nearly two weeks. -- Super Sam 12:51, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)
But obviously nobody noticed. Just because no opinions have been given doesn't mean nobody cares. small_logo.pngUsername-talk 14:04, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I think what Super Sam did was fine. Be bold and all. Homestar Coderhomestar-coder-sig.gif 14:58, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

So sorry, Super Sam. In no way did I mean to imply anything negative. When you made the move earlier today, the troll Hydro was rampant on page moving and blanking. Going a bit too quickly to pay extreme attention to the intentions of the move, I simply didn't realize that your motives were benign. After all, it's been "raps" for as long as I've been here. Feel free to continue regular editing activity as if I hadn't interfered, if you wish. — Lapper (talk) 20:04, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

It's okay. No probalo. -- Super Sam 21:09, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User page suggestions

I'm new to the wiki and still figuring out how to make my userpage look better. Any suggestions? You could even edit it if you want. Arrow'd 02:41, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for asking for my input, Arrow'd. Here are five ideas of mine.
  • The GIFs, no matter how cool they look, (they rock), slow down even the fastest internet connections.
    • My solution? Save it as a png still image, viewing it from the front. It would still rock, but it wouldn't slow anyone down.
      • If Bkmlb wants to hear it, I'd advise him to do the same.
  • The light blue on your page somewhat fails to contrast with Wikipedia or Fanstuff links, as they are almost identical in color.
  • Add a bit more content to the page, maybe including how you were introduced to Homestar or the Wiki. Good quotes always make things shimmer.
  • Try not to clutter images. You don't, and that's good, but don't in the future.
  • Provide content with a catchy introduction, a steady middle, and a powerful close.
    • Strong Bad Email blockquotes always make good intros. If you don't know how, come to the help page.
Try those and you'll have a kickin' userspace in no time! Don't hesitate to ask anything else. — Lapper (talk) 02:54, 29 Sep 2005 (UTC)
But blue is my favorite color, along with red and white. So my userpage looks great to me. And about the gifs, I can just reduce the number of frames it has. As for the content, I'm still working on that. Arrow'd 21:57, September 29, 2005 (UTC)
Like I said, it's just a suggestion, and it's your call in the end. Have a great time making your page, Arrow'd! — Lapper (talk) 15:03, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image uploading

Hi Lapper, its me again. Um... I just realized that I have absolutely no idea how to upload images. I know you already made a help page on putting an image on the wiki, but it doesn't excactly say how to upload an image. It could just be my computer, but I can't at all. Do you think you could make a new help page, (or add onto your image help page on that? — talk Bubsty edits 01:18, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

(sorry to butt in Lapper)You can just read the Upload link and do what it says. Remember to check the Homestar Runner Wiki copyright box. It should be a png if it's from a homestar toon and a jpeg if it's from the DVD of live action. It should also be under 100kb, which you can find by lookin gat the Image info. If you want to also replace an existing Image, name it the exact same thing as it is on the wiki. If you upload something that looks the same as snother image, it can always be deleted.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 01:33, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Sorry, I guess I selected my words wrong. I know how to upload an image, but my computer won't let me. It's at that "choose file" thingy that I don't know what to do with. Even when I select an image that would work, my computer still won't let me. Any suggestions? — talk Bubsty edits 02:43, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Hmm...that is strange. I'm not much of a computer expert, but what browser are you using? You might have some wierd setting that won't let you. I'm not sure at all.--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 02:48, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I'm using Safari. Does that make a differance? — talk Bubsty edits 02:58, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I don't know. I'm using Safari also. You're on a mac I assume?--minibaseball.png Bkmlb(talk to me·stuff I did) 03:00, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I should hope. Otherwise Apple might be all up ons on that one. And not in a good way. — Lapper (talk) 03:06, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
About the issue, though. When you click the button, you probably see a menu that morphs from your window's bar, or just a pop-up window. For the life of me, I really don't understand why your computer wouldn't let you upload a file. Perhaps try on a public computer, before blaming it on the compy. Good luck. — Lapper (talk) 03:10, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, I am using a mac. Thanks for the help guys. — talk Bubsty edits 03:37, 3 Oct 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jewish holidays

And shana tova to you to! :) Elcool (talk)(contribs) 12:51, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Thanks, E.L. Cool, and thanks for the hebrew sig! Keep making more! — Lapper (talk) 15:49, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

And, yeah. I guess I'm better at writing Hebrew than typing it. Thanks for the swtich up. — Lapper (talk) 15:50, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Nice going on all those holyday mentions, but you don't greet someone with "Happy Day of Remorse". It supposed to be a sad day. (Altough, because no one is driving on that day, all the kids get out on their bike and start driving all over town.) So, instead, say "Easy fast" ("Tzom kal") if you are religious or "Happy blasphemy" ("Kfira neima") if your'e a sinner. Like me. :). Elcool (talk)(contribs) 14:49, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

That's common opinion, E.L. Cool, but after listening to a sermon from our rabbi, I found his view interesting. He states that because Adonai has given you a day to be clean of all sins, it should be a happy day, as though a weight has been lifted off your back. Just a thought. — Lapper (talk) 21:30, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Well, then have a happy Yom Kipur! Elcool (talk)(contribs) 21:36, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Lol. Thanks. You too. — Lapper (talk) 21:38, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Happy Yom Kippur, Lapper. This is my last Yom Kippur in which I can have food, so it is a solemn and happy occasion for me. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 21:40, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks! But... ugh. Don't even mention food... *Stomach rumbling* — Lapper (talk) 21:42, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Babel

Yo! Nice idea on the Babel thingy. I nade one myself for my userpage. It's not as big as yours, but I'll add to it as I see fit. Chack it out! (No, seriously, check it out!!) Elcool (talk)(contribs) 05:21, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Dude! That looks great! If you want the language name in the left tabs to be all on one line, you can just bring the font size down to 13 or 12. I didn't know Hebrew was your native language! — Lapper (talk) 14:55, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi, man! I like what you did with my Babel so much, I'm going to add another language! But.. I will get it all screwed up again. :P Could you please add this template to my list? Thanks! Elcool (talk)(contribs) 17:46, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch, E.L. Cool! I'd love to add the template for you. Although I can't add it until after school, around 15:00 CST (21:00 for you?). See you then! — Lapper (talk) 17:50, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Thank you muchly for those colors! — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 23:31, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

No problem, ACupOfCoffee. Keep up your template, because we all know how cool Babel is. — Lapper (talk) 23:33, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

Wow, thanks! I just hopped online and saw the table you put together for my Wikipedia:Babel info. What put you on to my attempts at putting Babel on my page?  Kyushu 08:16, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, Kyushu, the recent changes page showed you making edits, so I cheked out your user page. I saw that Babel was kind of mangled, and it's kind of one of my things to make and fix Babel templates on here. See you around. — Lapper (talk) 13:11, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sadistic personal narrative

Lapper sweeps on leather jacket that goes "swooooosh" anyway. Lookin' good in black. Lapper discovers a knife in his pocket. Lapper grasps the knife. 'Tis a good knife. Lapper swiftly exits the dark room and slips on black mirrored lenses. Lapper pulls up collar on his jacket. Lapper grasps the next flight to Canada. Lapper heads straight for Tony Blair's house. Lapper knocks. Tony opens the door. Lapper asks to borrow Tony's pet rock Snuffles. Tony says "Ah..." Lapper cuts him off. Literally. With his knife. And steals his precious rock.

Lapper goes back and picks up rambling Kelsey. Lapper drops her off at the Happy Hotel. Lapper dashes straight to Kelsey's house to tell her parents the news. They say they already knew she was nuts. Lapper leaves with the tip of a cool top hat and drives to Nova Soctia.

Lapper keeps driving until he hits Nova Scotia. Lapper pays the toll at the booth. Lapper rents a room in a hotel... then immediately leaves without warning and goes to Lockeport. But sir! You forgot your ke... Lapper kills the secretary before she can say the "y".

Lapper finds a sane, yet just as crazy as ever, Kelsey waiting in the terminal. They take a cab to the beach. When they get there, they realize they have no cash. Lapper kills the cab driver to compensate. Lapper steals the cab and drives off without Kelsey. She ends up getting eaten by a shark. Lapper forgot to turn off his "On duty" light, so he picks up a customer. The man needs to go to the Beach. Lapper kills the man to compensate, then steals his briefcase. Lapper drives to the beach anyway. Lapper arrives, then, sighing, swims out 50 miles, kills the shark with a paper clip, then pulls the living Kelsey out.

Lapper takes the unconscious, slime covered Kelsey to the hotel where he had previously booked. He passes by the dead secretary. Miss? Said Lapper, I need my key. She rudely ignores him. Lapper goes upstairs to his room and kicks the door open. Lapper finds It's dot com sitting on the bed. What are you doing here? I'm here to end this, Lapper. I'm here to end it all. Lapper drops the unconscious Kelsey on the floor, a real pain for the maid later, and pulls a lighter out of his pocket. Ha ha! It's dot com, this ends now! It's dot com casually pulls a gun from his pocket. *gulp* Said Lapper, as It's dot com clicked the gun. No, Lapper, It's over. It all is. The murders, the killing, and the shooting. It's all over. It's dot com shoots Lapper dead. It's dot com walks out of the room with Kelsey. — Lapper (talk) 04:04, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Nice! :D Homestramy20|Talk 04:11, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User welcoming

I'm not new. It's just that I had a lowercase account. --Thatkidsam 22:31, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

Perhaps you should have your userspace and edits transfered then? — Lapper (talk) 22:33, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

By the way, her talk page history shows that Jenny was welcomed by Homestramy. It certainly doesn't hurt to be welcomed more than once, and better safe than sorry, but I've often been on the verge of doing so when I discover they've simply deleted it. (Or sometimes their talk page has never even been edited, but their user contributions show they've been around for a year or something!) —AbdiViklas 03:23, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes, I've been checking that. Sometimes it seems that the user is new when he/she has a blank talk page or very few contributions Thank you for the reminder. — Lapper (talk) 12:23, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Just to let you know, the person you recently welcomed is a troll impersanator. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 06:11, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the info. I guess you can never tell with newcomers with seemingly random alpha-numeric names. — Lapper (talk) 06:15, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Whoo-hoo, Lapper, whoo-hoo. I've almost caught up with you. I only have 82 more answering machines to go. SaltyTalk! 03:21, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much, but I'm not sure what you mean by "answering machines". — Lapper (talk) 02:05, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
I only have negative 2 answering machines to go. And by the way, have you seen how many users Rogue Leader has weclomed? Has Matt? (talk) 02:10, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
I have seen Rogue's extremely high count of welcomes. However, I intend to surpass that number soon enough. — Lapper (talk) 02:15, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Rogue welcomed me back in August. I had no idea at the time that he was half my age. Heimstern Läufer 02:13, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Rogue welcomed me, additionally, in September. — Lapper (talk) 02:15, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Cool, Lapper welcomed me. I wonder who welcomed Rogue Leader. Probably no one, as he has been here before the welcoming committee was started. I think. Has Matt? (talk) 02:18, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
I welcomed me... never. Congraturation Lapper. You probably will pass me up soon enough. I am sorta on hiatus when it comes to welcoming. The user creation log... just takes the fun out of it. Pertmywert welcomed me. And no, Has Matt?, I was here was after the welcoming committee started. Rogue Leader / (my talk) 02:21, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Got rid of the "evidence" for you. :) Thunderbird 01:14, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Ah, yes. Nothing ruins a reputation like a new user being welcomed and then turning out to be a Yeltensic sockpuppet. Thanks, Thunderbird. — Lapper (talk) 01:18, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I did the same thing too. Ah well. Seriously (Talk) 01:20, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
So did I. We're all in the same boat. Thunderbird 01:24, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
I think he's just stopped so when he signs on with a fresh account, nobody will suspect it's him. Seriously (Talk) 01:27, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for listing me as a contributor. It feels great to know I'm appreciated for what I do. It seems my reputation isn't completely annihilated from past issues. Seriously (Talk) 01:27, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

That's just a list of people who have taken the time to leave a real message. — Lapper (talk) 01:32, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Er, all of the recent new users have been sockpuppet trolls. Perhaps you should hold off on welcoming them for a few minutes after they join. — It's dot com 02:38, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Sure thing, It's dot com. — Lapper (talk) 02:43, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Lapper. It's amazing how many users you've welcomed. I can see the big 3-0-0 is a monumental event. Conga ratz, yo. Thanks for welcoming so many people. — seriously talk 14:50, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, Seriously. — Lapper (talk) 21:02, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Y'know, there was a reason why I posted this on your actual talk page. This is a talk archive. Why would it make sense to post everything, even if it's on an archive, relating to welcoming here? — seriously talk 17:39, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
This archive is not an "archive" in it's definitive sense, as in "historical preservation", but rather a place to keep spare topics instead of them floating around on my User talk. I, personally, tend to merge topics if they are the exact same subject. Again, thank you for your noticing. — Lapper (talk) 22:53, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Smart idea. — seriously talk 23:02, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Toolbox

I know, I know, this is like, my 20000th time asking for help, but I just had one question. Where do we post your little toolbox template, to make it show up? Please don't kill me on account of my stupidity. Thank you. — talk Bubsty edits 04:09, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

Bubsty, I don't know where you got the idea that I'm an agressive person, as well as the idea that you've asked for my help too many times. You can easily add my toolbox template to your user page or talk page by placing the following code in either one:
{{User:Lapper/toolbox|Bubsty}}
You can always ask for help. — Lapper (talk) 04:21, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
This code will not work stored in your Javascript page. You can paste it on your user page if you like. — Lapper (talk) 12:37, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
Ohhhh... I see. Thanks. And actully, I dont think ur agressive, that was a joke. — talk Bubsty edits 00:45, 3 November 2005 (UTC)
Ah. Well, I hope you find it useful. — Lapper (talk) 04:06, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

At your request, I deleted your toolbox. There are still links to it on this page and your user page. One user was still using it, but I substituted the code on his page. — It's dot com 00:53, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you, It's dot com. — Lapper (talk) 04:18, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Explanations

"Explanations" is just a subcategory of "Fun Facts", along with Trivia, Remarks, Goofs, Glitches, Inside References, Real-World References, and Fast Forward (when applicable). In various places on STUFF, you make comments as though you think otherwise. See the Standards. Just letting you know. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 22:36, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Sure deal, Jay. But I still can't see why an explanation about military time needs to be voted on. It's perfectly valid and useful. — Lapper (talk) 00:38, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Hate to butt in, but yeah, I agree. — talk Bubsty edits 05:01, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, Bubsty. Now I know I'm not totally crazy. — Lapper (talk) 05:07, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
I never said otherwise; but your comment on how the STUFFed item "wasn't a Fun Fact," along with similar comments in the Potion-ma-jig facts, led me to believe that there was a misunderstanding. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 07:09, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blog invitation

I have created a blog called Casaestrella Corredor. Its a Homestar related blog. Would you like to join? --Coach B 02:15, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

I'll definatly consider it, Benol. Thanks for the offer. — Lapper (talk) 04:05, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Actually, after observation, I've noticed that all you seem to do on it is post pictures. We do that here, so thanks anyway for the offer. — Lapper (talk) 17:06, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Apology

I'm totally sorry about me adding to that pointless disscusion at the more halloween costumes disscusion. Just goin with the flow. Sin-ser-ly, SBadiaRula

It wasn't the discussion itself that was inappropriate. Simply the fact that you were talking about those girls in the photo with a facade that could be taken as sexual harassment. You are free to discuss anything without the virtual cat-calls. — Lapper (talk) 17:46, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
Uuuuhhhhh.... I don't know what the crap any of that means. I'm only 12. But I did undastand that first part. SBadiaRula
It means you were commenting on the girls' bodies and/or chests in a rude way. — Lapper (talk) 22:57, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Edit Olympics

yo yo yo Elcool (talk)(contribs) 23:22, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Elcool has not gone crazy. He is simply making as many edits as he can in a row uninterrupted. How far can he get? — Lapper (talk) 23:23, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
4. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 23:25, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
Not very good... Maybe better next time. — Lapper (talk) 23:34, 21 November 2005 (UTC)

I, myself, just bagged 14 in a row. Bet you can't beat that. — Lapper (talk) 16:54, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

I just got 22. Beat that! talk Bubsty edits 19:17, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Those doesn't count. We talked about constructive editing. Not sandbox crap. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 19:24, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Dang. — talk Bubsty edits 19:26, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
He's right, you know. I simply was in a diligent mood when no one else happened to be doing much. — Lapper (talk) 20:56, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Thank You Award

The Thank You Award given to Lapper

For helping me through the time when I was new and really stupid, I present to you The Thank You Award. Thanks for helping! (Seriously, your help pages rule. I still use 'em!). — talk Bubsty edits 03:10, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you so much, Bubsty. It's truly an honor. — Lapper (talk) 03:26, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
