[edit] Images

Hello SamFisher1022. Are you going to use the following non-Homestar-related images you uploaded?

A user can only have 2 personal images, and you currently have 1. You can use only one more image, and the rest must be put to deletion. Elcool (talk)(contribs) 20:04, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Preview

I see you're editing your userpage. That's good, although you might want to use the preview button so you don't clog up the recent changes page. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 03:00, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Signature

With the quote it doesn't quite fit... maybe get rid of the quote, or drop the "1022" bit, or something... --phlip TC 13:11, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

All done. It's cut really close, though... I'll probably refer to this discussion if I make any future changes. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 9:44, 24 September 2006

[edit] Strong Bad changing emailer names

This is already noted on the Strong Bad Email By Name of Sender page. Just thought I'd let you know. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 22:03, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evil Clone?

i actually know a 14-going on 15 year old guy named Sam Fisher. he lives in nj.

Weird. I've known a coulple of people named Sam, and a few other people with the last name Fisher. I guess it was only a matter of time before I met a Sam Fisher (Even though I don't really know the guy you mentioned). And, I forgot to update my userpage; I'm already 15. Hooray for me? — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 6:21, 31 October 2006

[edit] sbemail redirects

Haldo, SamFisher. Nice job with the e-mail redirects so far. I've patrolled all of them, so we know they are all set up right. I don't mind the RC flood on a slow day like this. Great job being bold, but beware with big projects like this; it's wise to get community support for large tasks like this so your hard work doesn't go down the drain. These redirects are no big deal. In fact, I kinda like them because searching for sbemail# without a space is counter-intuitive for some people. Are you planning on finishing them all in one sitting? —BazookaJoe 21:20, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

...Uh, no. My fingers started getting twitchy halfway through the Tandy redirects, which is not only bad for my speed (I time myself for no particular reason), but it means I'll also end up making more typos that will mess up the page (I've seen you clean them up, so thanks). I was about to post on Talk:Strong Bad Email about the idea of making all these pages, but for some reason I wasn't sure that would be the right place to post. I've just finished a third of the Compy redirects (the largest group), and I think I'm ready for a serious break. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 16:36, 12 November 2006
Mind if I go ahead and finish up? — Lapper (talk) 21:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 16:51, 12 November 2006

[edit] Help?

How do you create a link to a welcome message and all the stuff you have on that bar? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man

Whoa, sorry I missed all these messages. It's spring break and my parents are dragging me all over the place, so it's hard to get online... Anyway, my navbar is a "User template", similar to a sig in that it's a subpage: User:SamFisher1022/navigation. Feel free to copy the code and change it to fit wherever you need it. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 8:06, 6 April 2007
But how do I create the welcome and userbox? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Same thing. Just copy all the code for your userbox and paste it into a subpage, then replace the code on your main userpage with {{User:Sam the Man/userbox}}. For welcoming, check out User:SamFisher1022/welcome and notice the {{{1}}} at the end. When you welcome a new user, type {{User:Sam the Man/welcome|time and date here}} and everything after the vertical bar will replace the {{{1}}} to form a timestamp. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 8:22, 6 April 2007
I really hate to annoy you but how do I create a subpage? User talk:Sam the Man Sam the Man
Oh, you're not annoying. I was this clueless once. ;) You create subpages just like regular articles, but with "User:Username/page title". Make sure you use the / slash. I don't know what happens if you use \, but I'm pretty sure it's not good... SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 8:30, 6 April 2007

[edit] I Need Help

[edit] Mah furs question, dawg.

Yo! Thanks fo the greetin', son. How do I get approval to upload images? ... er... Dawg. → ☮y P Y'all biscuitheads! 18:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Over on the left, you'll find a list of links under Navigation, Toolbox, and External Links. Under Toolbox, click on "Upload file". That'll take you to the Uploads page, and there are more instructions there thur. Dawg. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 18:50, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh, f'real, f'real. What I'm spittin' tho is the page says: "The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups "autoconfirmed", "Bots", "Sysops"." Whenever I go about clickin' it. Know what I mean? → ☮y P Y'all biscuitheads! 18:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, did you get an email confirmation of your account? I remember something like this happening when I tried to register at a forum; the email confirmation officially activates your account. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 19:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I clicked the activation link n' all. I'll do at again and see if it helps. Much love, y'all! → ☮y P Y'all biscuitheads! 19:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
I think I know what the problem is. The reason you can't upload images is because your account has not been autoconfirmed, which happens 48 hours after creation of the account. This is done to protect vandals from uploading nasty images and such. So, after about two days, you should be able to upload all the images you want, yo. Has Matt? (talk) 20:15, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

"There's an 'i' in pie." is from Shaun of the Dead (great movie!). "Son of a submariner!" is from Final Fantasy VI (Kefka!). "I'll take calligraphy and then I'll make a fake degree." is from College Kids by Relient K (80 grand!). "Wise men choose death before war. Wiser men choose not to be born." is from Drakengard (Talking dragon!). "It's the sticky notes of the apocalypse!" is from the Ed, Edd, and Eddy episode 'Momma's Little Ed' (Oh no!). "Hey, look who's back! Have you met Josef? No, of course you haven't. This is how important our operation is, eh? They sent me this guy! This old Russian bear. He used to be KGB so you watch out! Working for us... for me, it means a lot of trust, right? I'll make you rich, but I have to trust you! If you don't behave, I'll have Josef kill you. He'd do it, too. Josef's ex-KGB, did I mention that? Right, of course I did. I got a contract for you: The North Koreans, they love American money. Who doesn't, eh? They love it so much, they print it themselves! Counterfeiting's right up our alley, so you're going to steal me their equipment. Should be no problem. Easy job. Should be even easier once you take out the Chinese guys who are after the same thing. Did I mention them? [edit] Edit Summary

You know, i'm sure your contributions to Strong Bad Email Statistics are good, but it would have been REALLY helpful to include an edit summary to explain what you did. It makes others less put out, and makes you seem more with-it and in control. I have a section on my userpage which addresses this, feel free to read it. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:05, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

That was a mistake on my part. What had happened was... first, I began cleaning the article, but after seeing how much work was going to need doing, I opened the page in a new window and added {{pageinprogress}}. Then, feeling like I had set myself up for an Edit Conflict, I went ahead and hit Save Page (without filling in the summary box) to get it out of the way. But then the page saved successfully, which surprised me. Hence, if you look at the time I added the template and the time I finished cleaning the article, they're only one minute apart (I also made one last edit after that). So, that's what happened. Really. <_< — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 21:10, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
That's all tough and cool and kool and tuff. But what I'm driving at is this: seriously, go into prefs and set "remind to use edit summary" and that way every edit you make will carry with it your reason for the edit, because otherwise the wiki will argue with you. (Not the participants, the program.) I use it, it helps me a lot. And more importantly, it helps others a lot. Give it due consideration. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:25, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
All done, but the reason I didn't summarize my edit is because I didn't know the page would actually save. Had I see that coming, I would have entered something. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 21:31, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Ah, then comes the advice "always enter a summary even when you don't think it's needed" - because you never know, do you? All good, carry on with stewardship and decency. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 21:35, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pending deletion

Hey there, Sam Fisher. I noticed that you put up the tbd template on the filmography for the Drive-Thru Whale. I noticed that when you put up the template, you put {{tbd|not enough appearances}}, so did you mean to put up the pending deletion template? If so, you would need to put up {{delete}} instead of {{tbd}}. Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:30, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

He didn't, I put it there because I thought it needed discussion. Shwoo 12:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
I did put up {{delete}} because I didn't think the Drive-Thru Whale had enough appearances for his own filmography page, but Shwoo changed it to {{tbd}} so there could be some discussion first. I decided it's better that way. — SamSF%20sig.jpgFisher (Come in, Lambert.) 12:37, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
WhoopS! I guess I should look at the RC more carefully! But Shwoo, which one did you mean to do? Homestar-Winner (talk) 12:37, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
