[edit] EBay

Didn't somebody try to sell a "D" on Ebay once? Was that just a legend? Why isn't that on here? Mommy, why is the sky blue? -- No Parking

uh....no. noone sold a "D" on Ebay. no.

[edit] Goof maybe?

In the "really old email", when homestar comes out from behind the computer, you cannot see his legs underneath the table, I don't know if that was done intentionally or not

[edit] Debating

That made-up e-mail with the crappy voices WAS Powered by the Cheat. The font looks exactly the same as any one of the Powered by Teh C. e-mails. --generalsling

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about; then no, that's the just the third design of Homestar Runner. An example can be found in the Homestar Runner Evolution article. -- Tom 21:51, 2 Apr 2005 (MST)

I'd say it's just a mix. I'm probably pointing out the obvious, but it's the Chap's cartoon, right? They can mix and match styles if they wanna. --Nom_anor67 00:28, 7 Aug 2005(EST)

[edit] Best Email Ever?

It is odd that Strong Bad doesn't mention your friends in which he says that it is "the best E-mail I have ever received."

  • Someone keeps adding this to the page, and it keeps getting taken off, I thought it would be more appropriate here. Personally I'm ambivalent about it, what do you think? --phlip 00:56, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Rewrite It's not written in NPOV. I suppose I was being a little stubborn about it, though. --Jay (Talk) 02:24, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Second Howabouts: "In your friends, he comments that it is "the best email I have ever recieved." However he doesn't mention it as one of his favorites here" --phlip 02:41, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
      • Second. Both of you are right, I should have been more careful of wording. -- SBEmail22 12:45 AM, 3 May 2005 (EST)
  • I don't think it was TBC intention for Strong Bad's comment to be official. Doesn't he also claim that The Basics is his favorite e-mail? Most of the e-mails in Favorites were made up anyway. Decline Donny vs Universe
  • Decline. Actually, in "your friends," SB said that the email he received was the best. In "personal favorites," he's talking about the entire email shows. There's a difference. Even if there wasn't, I still think this fun fact is too sketchy to be desired. -- Joshua 01:51, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Decline He loves all his emails like his childrens. Thus, picking certain emails should not make us think that he really values them more than those not mentioned. Or are you calling Strong Bad an unloving father?? or.. mother? or.. ew! MetaStar 05:33, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Comment. I disagree. If that were the case, logically he wouldn't have answered that e-mail, or he wouldn't have stated what his favorites were. -- SBEmail22 1:59 AM, 3 May 2005 (EST)
      • Comment. I disagree with your disagreement. That is the case, because logically he said so. Those were (close to) his exact words. His disclaimer was pretty much designed to discourage people from thinking that he was splitting emails into 2 classes.
  • WASSUP! I DECLINE. Strong Bad has a record of being rather indecisive about his favorite email. your friends, the basics, and the fake emails from personal favorites have all been named his favorites... I think it will always be a mystery. Rudeboy87 14:50, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
  • DECLINE! This is a cartoon! Inconsitencies are okay and really dont have to be singled out and noted. Besides, the whole "this is the best email I've ever recieved" line is purely for effect, not necesarily as a real comment. TK600 19:51, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
  • Rewrite Perhaps: In the email your friends, Strong Bad claimed it was the best email he had ever recieved. Strangely enough, it wasn't listed as one of his favourite emails. »ßenit, known as señor« 15:35, 14 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Changed?

I think TBC have recently changed the email to fit Coach Z's "I'm a blade man, man!" because the "I'm a white guy with a knife!" doesn't fit his head movements now. I do remember it not fitting. smileyface.PNG11945 (Talk/Ctrbs) 15:57, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

I'm going to hopefully draw attention to this by making this edit. But, what I said still stands. smileyface.PNG11945 (Talk/Ctrbs) 01:07, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blade man, man

Is it just me, or is the line "I'm a blade man, man" from some movie or something? The full line, if I can remember it, is something like "I'm gonna cut you, man. I'm a blade man, man!"

It's just you. This sorta thing happens all the time. 71.231.56.40 02:00, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh, wait. I do remember "Santa's gonna cut you man! Santa's a blade man, man!" being used as a riff in the MST3K version of "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians", but I can't find any information on the version listed up there. 71.231.56.40 00:11, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Yup, and the fact's now on this page. The MST3K episode is on Google Video and you can find this line about 41 minutes in. I knew it wasn't just me. OneGyT 02:19, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] HOT LIXX!!!

Could someone separate that heavy metal piece at the beginning of the email from the rest of the file and put it up? Or better yet, could someone make a song using that lixx for the riff?

Actually, the wicked guitar solo was a Quote of the Week a long time ago, and has an available link there. --DorianGray

[edit] Wicked Solo Tab

If You Are A Guitarist, I've Put A Tab For The Intro Up On My Page. It's Correct Because I've Played Along With The Song. It Isn't Hard, A Beginer Could Play It Actually. Its Just The Movement Of Fingers That Might Give Someone Trouble. Enjoy! -Image:Homsar-in-motion.gifHomsar7(Hom · Sar)Image:Homsar-in-motion.gif

Skillfullness!! That should totally be on the actual page for personal favorites. Good job, Homsar with a guitar! --The_homestrongzipansadcheatsmith2.PNG Tlk/Cnt 22:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] White guy with a knife

Coach Z's original line during the knife fight with Pom Pom was "I'm a white guy with a knife!" This was changed within a week after the email came out.

hey, does anybody have a link to a Mirror to the email before the "White guy with a knife" edit?---COLA 07:36, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

I've been skeptical about the existence of this edit for years, especially as Encyclopedia Dramatica claims that Homestar Runner is a "racist site" because of this line. Unless a mirror (whether it be audio or video) is created, we might as well assume that line was vandalism to begin with. --JohnnyLurg 18:10, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
I've preserved the line above because there are references to it across the Internet, but for all I know the only source for all those sites is us. I can't find any contemporary mentions of the line. To verify this, we'd really need a snapshot of the transcript on our old site or another fan site from the week the toon was released, but our own page histories don't go back that far, and Internet archives are sketchy that far back. — It's dot com 16:25, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
I do recall the original line, but I do know my memory doesn't count as evidence. --Jay v.2024 (Auld lang syne) 23:00, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
Well, there's several things here that strike me as indicating that this fact is legit. A main factor is the fact that the comment has been on the page for a very long time, and no one questioned it, despite some intervening edits (the latter of which has a much more recent-memoried Jay confirming that he's pretty sure he remembers the original line), and the thread Changed? above indicates another user who remembers not the original line, but the intermediate change of the audio without the animation being redone to fit. There are also some indicators of people who actually remember this happening in the google results that Dot com posted, such as "I can certify I heard the line myself and it was pretty funny". The closest thing to contemporaneous I can find is this forum post, made only a few days after the edit to the wiki itself, by a user other than the one who made the wiki edit (the anonny's talk page indicates that said anonny is User:The Pardack not logged in). All of this leads me to believe that the info is legit. I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I'd say i'm about 85% sure it's legit. — Defender1031*Talk 00:12, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

[edit] Soy Sauce Warrior Kikkoman

I know loads of people are going to complain that it's not actually a real reference, and won't be put in the article, but I might as well point out the parallel I noticed; the commentary seems to refer to Kikkoman as an actual Kikko Man, which is a reference (or not) to the Soy Sauce Warrior Kikkoman. Lemme hear that Kikko-Punch. Ppk01 20:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Knife Fight

Call me crazy, but I want to see the knife fight in an actual sbemail. My friends and I all agree it would be pretty sweet. Then again, my friends and I are all pretty wierd. -- Nom_anor67 00:23, 7 August 2006 (EST)

Call me crazy, but this is an actual sbemail, and it does feature the knife fight. ;-)  Loafing 04:45, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
Got me there. But I want to see the WHOLE thing, not just an awesome preview. -- Nom_anor67 01:07, 7 August 2006 (EST)

[edit] What Was He Saying?

What kind of word would he be trying to spell with several "u"s in a row? If "g" and "u" were the only ones broken, he would type regular and only g's and u's would show up. Catman87 21:02, 26 September 2006 (CST)

[edit] Podstar Runner link never worked.

And it continues not to work. Can we gets a link that does? -Teh C.

I think there can only be so many toons available for download from Podstar that the older ones must be removed. Maybe, then, we should remove the links that no longer work, or perhaps replace them with a mirror. It would be a good discussion for Talk:Podstar Runner. —BazookaJoe 04:48, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Mysterious Tape Leg

50 emails right after tape-leg, there has been a weird situation to Tape Leg II. Can this be true? - Viklas 11:15, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marzipan's Answering Machine

I'm assuming the reason Marzipan got a new answering machine is because Strong Bad exploded her old one with his prank call in this email. Is that a safe assumption? Danbri28 23:12, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

We can't really say. Heck, it's likely Strong Bad just made it up (as he did much other things in this email) and it's just coincidence that Marzi got a new machine. (In fact, that's the running theory around here, I think.) --DorianGray 23:23, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] To the moon!

  • When Strong Bad drinks the bottle of soy sauce and tries to fly Bubs' Concession Stand, he falls backwards, causing the "D" from Bubs' sign to fall off. In the next scene featuring the sign (as well as Strong Bad flying the Concession Stand), the sign is not missing the "D".
    • Alternately, The Cheat was gnawing on the Concession Stand prior to Strong Bad falling backwards.

I removed the above from the Goofs section. I'd always assumed those two scenes represented different emails, and thus the sign would have been repaired in the interim. Regardless, since these flashbacks were being made up as they went along, it doesn't seem fair to label this a Goof, and I didn't move it to Remarks because it can be explained away so easily. — It's dot com 02:40, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I personally think it should be a remark at least. It's true that it could have represented a separate e-mail, but the cut to Strong Bad on top of the roof implies that it was the same one. So, it could have been, true, but it seems like the same one. --Mario2.PNG Super Martyo boing! 02:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm with Dot com. The two "sbemails" are shown with other sbemails in-between, and Strong Bad describes them differently. They look like separate sbemails. Loafing 03:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
