[edit] Fibonacci

Anyone else notice that the number of legs of Li'l Brudder and Pals (0,1,2,4) can be described by a Fibonacci-like sequence? Look out for a seven-legged spider!

  • That's not a Fibonacci sequence. A more valid Fibonacci sequence would be 0,1,1,2,3.. Aurora the Homestar Coder 20:44, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
  • It's fibonacci-like. f(0)=0. f(1)=1. f(n) = f(n-2) + f(n-1) + 1 where n>1 -- tomstiff 20:49, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
  • I also think f(n) = sum(fib(i)) for i=0 to n. -- tomstiff 20:51, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
    • That one works, although tons of different sequence rules can be made for only four numbers. And the Fibonacci-like thing is a huge stretch, although I guess you weren't putting it on fun facts so it doesn't matter... Aurora the Homestar Coder 20:55, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Of course it's a stretch. That's why it's here! It was just one of those odd little things I happened to "notice". Now ... if a seven-legged spider show up in the next episode ... -- tomstiff 21:01, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
    • Hmmmm ... it's almost like this sequence -- tomstiff 21:03, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Easter Egg

Tendafoot most certainly does not say "Loof". I think he says "Phill" two times. →FireBird

I'm just writing it as I hear it. I expect my work to be wrong is some areas. -- Joshua 12:28, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

How do you download the li'l brudder show.

[edit] That's One Ugly Dog

While I do appreciate their creative control and it's slightly humorous, Li'l Brudder went from a cute puppy to this skeezy looking dog with a hole in his tooth (Which I guess IS supposed to be a nod to Courage the Cowardly Dog but still). Am I the only one who feels this way? --heebrewhammer23 16:38, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

You can share this on the forum page, listed on the front page. Most people here do not take too kindly to commentary on the talk pages. I hope you continue to enjoy your stay at the wiki! --The Somewhat Awesome Jesty 19:52, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

--- My mistake --heebrewhammer23 02:58, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Characters

Should we make induvidual character pages for the mole and the legless parrot? I'm thinking we can splice Li'l Brudder, Tendafoot, and those two guys into one page. --thatkidsam 19:44, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Ehhh... I'm skeptical, especially since we don't know those characters' names. --Jay 19:50, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
As am I. They have no speaking voices and really just stand there. Well, except for that parot, who falls over. →FireBird

I'm thinking of merging the Parrot and Possum pages under The Dregs. Li'l Brudder and Tendafoot could be merged there too. Thoughts? - Dr Haggis - Talk 00:59, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Quarterback

I think that Li'l Brudder's football-playing scene is definately a reference to when, in "Crying," Strong Bad makes The Cheat cry with the Li'l Brudder picture, saying, "I'm gonna be the quarterback when I grow up." I'm new to this, but I was surprised that nobody had mentioned that yet.

I think The Brothers Chaps meant it to be an obvious reference to crying.
Oh, and please sign your posts. →FireBird

[edit] Things are lookin' up! (DECLINED)

The title of the page and Lil' Brudder's line at the end of the toon "Things are lookin' up!" is probably a reference to the Gershwin song of the same name. (Incidentally, there's also a line in the song that says "I'm happy as a pup.")TakuaKaita600 21:39, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • Comment. Here's a link to the lyrics. -- tomstiff 21:56, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Yea, it's the line "Oh I'm happy as a pup since love looked up at me." But...not that Lil' Brudder's in love or anything...TakuaKaita600 22:04, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Close, but Decline. It's just an optimism from someone who has no reason to be optimistic. I doubt that the song popularized the phrase, even if it's old. Dasrik 23:50, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • It's De Cline. --Beatfox 00:24, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • DECLINE'D It's a far stretch.--Mr. Sparkle 11:26, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Decline. The only way LB can see a thing as he scrapes along is to ... well ... look up! -- tomstiff 13:18, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Decline. There was a drawing of Lil' Brudder in the Weekly Sketchbook entitled "things are looking up!" It's more likely that they'd be referencing other content on their site. --Gafaddict 18:57, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Second. Wait, wasn't that quote also mentioned in crying? Oh, guess not. DE CLINE!!! --thatkidsam 22:48, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Stretch... Stretch... Stretch... Decline. -- Homsar999ß 22:27, 21 Apr 2005 (CDT)
  • Decline and, by the way, if this WAS accurate, there would be nothing "ironic" about the "happy as a pup" line, unless you use the Alanis definition of irony (ie. "any funny coincidence.") --Jay 05:50, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • That's true...changed it to "Incidentally."TakuaKaita600 17:02, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Accept! I think this could be a reference. It is a good fact!! --User: Lappy 486

[edit] Ugly Animation (DECLINED)

The animation resembles the work of Klasky Csupo (most famous for Rugrats), in which characters were often of the ugly-but-suppose-to-be-cute kind. The resemblance is strongest in the "skydiving" segment.

  • Decline Wha...? Obviously not! Li'l Brudder is supposed to look raggety- he was made to make someone cry! --acekirby13 16:33, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Declime Li'l Brudder pretty much looks the way Strong Bad drew him originally. He looks odd in the skydiving sequence 'cuz he's prolly falling at near terminal velocity! -- tomstiff 16:44, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Not So Li'l Decline Li'l Brudder's the only one that may look "ugly" due to the addition of visible black hairs all over his body and discolored teeth. Tendafoot looks exactly like the two-legged elephant Strong Bad drew, and the Legless Parrot and Human-Nosed Possum look like animated copies of the real animal, just with the aforementioned maladies. I think TBC made Li'l Brudder "uglier" to draw more pity for everybody's favorite go-getter. GillanTheVillain 17:01, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Withdrawn I posted this originally, and on closer inspection I agree that Li'l Brudder looks more like Courage the Cowardly Dog than a K C creation. Lucres 17:25, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Late 360 Shove-It To Decline'd! I think its unintentional, but kinda true about the "ugly, but cute" part. In spite of that, I also Second all of the above. Cheatachu72 18 Apr 2005
    • Second. He looks more like something John Kricfalusi (of the Ren and Stimpy fame) would create. --Trogga 20:50, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
      • No he doesn't. Rudeboy87 12:39, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Comment. Restored discussion. Please wait 2 weeks before declaring a verdict! -- tomstiff 13:10, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Decline. I don't see any resemblance. -- Super Sam 07:29, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Second? Li'l Brudder skydiving sort of looks like the animation of Klasky-Csupo, but that's just it. Never reminded me of anything the first time I watched it. -MK and/or BurnBox 23:17, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Decline--user: Lappy 486 28 Apr 9:06
  • Klasky-Declined. --ISlayedTheKerrek 17:13, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Barney in the begginin' when the picture of lil' brudder turns rainbow and comes to life it sorta reminds me of barney when the stuffed barney turns rainbow and comes to (i don't watch barney i think its stupid.

[edit] Ceiling height

The fun facts say that the ceiling seems to be a lot higher than previously supposed, as in Homestar Runner Pay Plus, when Homestar falls only partly through and lands on Strong Mad's head. It also says it seems to be the same height that it was in couch patch, though really in couch patch it never gave a good hint as to how high the ceiling was. A better comparison would be in Strong Mad's character video, when Strong Mad knocks the camera over(you have to pause the flash file to see it, of course). There the ceiling would seem relatively low in comparison to the way it is in this toon, unless there are two blue and white stripes running across it. i.e., in Strong Mad's character video, the stripe seen behind him before he knocks the camera over is lower down on the wall, and the stripe we see as the camera falls over is higher above the lower stripe, which would seem to be the case, if you keep track of where the lower stripe is on the wall. If this is the case, the ceiling would be about the same height, but the higher stripe is just left out in the li'l brudder show. Of course, TBC were probably just taking artistic license with the ceiling height, though since there is a fun fact about it, I felt I should point this out. --Ogog

I really don't think there can be much credence lent to the height of the celing on the April Fools toon, since it was, y'know, April Fools and all. I doubt Strong Bad is gonna have the trap door in any of his future e-mails. Of course, that's just a guess, and maybe he will. Then my perception of the toon's reality would be all outta whack. Irregardlessly, I say that the April Fools stuff never happened, and that the ceiling has always been high up in the sky. Perhaps. GillanTheVillain 00:21, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] anyone else think homestar himself is getting funnier?

between homestar's fit in "long pants" and the free-floating sobbing, is homestar getting funnierer?

That would be debatable. Personally, I have never really thought of Homestar as "funnierer" - Tony Stony 11:02, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

God, you have got to check your spelling, Mr. Grammar Cop. I mean, "funnierer"? -Kinsey

[edit] I have made a prediction!

I bet that soon, not too long from now, there will be a full length Lil Brudder cartoon. -Kinsey

Goin' out a limb are ya dere, Nostradamus? ;) -- tomstiff 19:33, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hey, Kinsey, I'll bet you twenty bucks that Strong Bad will make another email. ;) Aurora the Homestar Coder 19:37, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Ugh. I hope TBC have more sense than that. Li'l Brudder doesn't have the capacity to be extremely funny. The only funny parts in crying and The Li'l Brudder Show are Homestar crying. The Li'l Brudder Show short wasn't a total flop, but wasn't a big hit either. Personally, I think another Cheat Commandos toon would be welcome. --BazookaJoe 19:45, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Rock, rock on! Li'l Brudder's has his day in the sun. I wanna see how big the twins have grown and if the grout cleaner worked! -- tomstiff 20:00, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
(facepalms) for the umpteenth Total Drama Island reference >time this is a formum topic. This is why there's a formum link in the external links.
Please note that this disscussion took place 5 years ago.

[edit] Where'd this come from

Please don'make fun of me, but where'd did this cartoon come from?

See crying for more info.----Sin City, another H*R fan

It came from Strong Bad's drawing. The 386 23:32, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Is it worth noting...?

I was just wondering if it was worth noting, maybe in Remarks, that the dialog in the easter egg really sounds ad-libbed. It has a real stream-of-consciousness feel to it which isn't found in most other places on the site. Just something I noticed, but possibly not significant enough to warrent going in the wiki. Rocketlex 06:06, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

I dunno, Homsar does that all the time. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 03:58, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Snoring

For Wigglebuddy125: Just to clarify on your Fun Fact: We actually heard Strong Bad snoring in In Search of the Yello Dello Commentary. Good catch, though - he wasn't heard snoring again until lady...ing. — Image:kskunk_fstandby.gif KieferSkunk (talk) — 03:58, 28 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Artist of the Lil Brudder song

I am trying to confirm that this song was sung by Steve Poltz http://www.poltz.com/.

[edit] That doesn't add up.

I know I'm tardy to this party, but I noticed Lil' Brudder's first line has a distinctly different voice than his other lines. It sounds almost like a hill-billy. Anyone else notice this? Should we mention it? --Jellote 22:35, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Theme Song Visuals

I think there should be a page with visuals for the theme song. So, the lyrics can just be on the page. You did it with the other songs, why not this one? — 108.40.91.83 (Talk | contribs) 23:18, 7 December 2014 (left unsigned)
