[edit] Rewrite
If anybody can rewrite my recent addition,
Or, if you run your pointer over the "e-mail" button, and quickly move to another button, you can hear Homsar's voice for the other button over "AaAaAaAaAaAaA."
I would really appreciate it. I couldn't think of any clearer way to write it. --oddtodd 14:38, 19 Nov 2004 (MST)
Doesn't seem worthy enough to mention, since all menu's do that. It's just more noticable on this one. Kvb 18:55, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Games button
It may just be me, but I think he says "Jane", not "James". No "s" is audible. --83.88.139.108 07:55, 23 Nov 2004 (MST)
Jane would make more sense. A reference to the old saying "Jane stop this crazy thing". Xycho
Hmm... I'm pretty sure I can hear an 's' in there somewhere. But it doesn't matter which one makes more sense. I mean, we're talking about Homsar. --Lyzz~
I'm going to revive this: put the cursor over Games and immediately pull it away. No S. Could be Jane, could be Jeng, or it could be James with the recording cut off because the Bros. didn't do enough bugtesting. --Jay 01:45, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I think it's Jane. I came to this talk page to suggest it, even. Kvb 18:52, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
With Jay's suggestion, I am hearing "Jane" over and over again. But then again, maybe TBC meant "James" but cut off the ending so that the sound effect of the Heavy Lourde hitting wouldn't be obstructed, not expecting us to trick the button. -- Tony Stony 02:41, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I hear it as "Jame", as if to say "James" but he gets cut off by the "Heavy Lourde". Swimma Dan
Sounds more like 'change' to me The Pardack
Actually, it sounds like "Game" to me --No user account varified--
I think he says "James", as a mispronunciation of the word "Games". -- S
I swear i went over that button like 5 times and it always said "jane"
Aha! Some semi-sweet semi-confirmation: "Your James Over" from redesign. —BazookaJoe 05:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I heard "Jame" or "Jabe" or "Jay". Retromaniac 18:34, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
He says "James!" You just need to pull the cursor away from the button before the Heavy Lourde falls down, and listen closely. You'll hear a definate "S".
"Jeng" as in Jenga. This is connected to another cartoon, as Homsar says, "You shanked my Jengafish!" when playing Connect Four with Strong Sad.
[edit] Memorabilia
Any idea why the link title is "homestarrunner.com/memorabilia.html"? The word memorabilia is most likely there just as a random word, but does anybody think there may be some significance behing it? --Ogog
No.
It's probably just Homsar-type randomness. -Kinsey

[edit] taoBWhen the Downloads boat goes by backwards, the boat horn sound is backwards too. Posted on: 16:28, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC) VERDICT: This item was unanimously accepted, 11–0. The votes and arguments have been moved to HRWiki:STUFF/Archive/Homsar Main Page. |
[edit] Gone With the GamesNotice that when you roll over the "Games" link and roll off quickly, Homsar's hat will jump up and then momentarily disappear. [edit] Strange sound
I can never hear that "strange sound looping in the background." No matter what, I just can't hear it. Does anyobdy else know how to get it to work? — —↑Darklinkskywalker|Talk_|i did this stuff_↓ 21:33, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Actually, you will never hear the strange looping sound in the background. Stephen923
[edit] Jane
I think AAA is right: Homsar says "Jane", not "James". I used a Flash decompiler to listen to it without interfering Heavy Lourde, and there is definitely no "s" sound. There's also an "n" and no "m". Loafing 10:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I guess my ears simply disagree. However, if anyone chooses to be bold, there is a Fun Fact that refers to "James" here and on redesign which would then need to be eliminated. - Qermaq - (T/C) 10:22, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I guess we should come to a conclusion here before someone goes and changes other articles. Loafing 10:27, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed there. - Qermaq - (T/C) 10:28, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- If I concentrate really hard, I can hear "James", but I really have to bend my mind to make it work :-/ Loafing 10:31, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Move your cursor on and off the button quickly and the Lourde won't fall, so he'll say the word uninterrupted. Notice the utter lack of "S". However, as no one can ever seem to agree what the final consonant was (I hear "Jeng", which reminds me of Homsar's nonsense from Where's The Cheat?), and since you're "supposed" to listen to it with the Lourde falling, I never pressed the point. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 16:34, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh no! Now that I've read this discussion, I hear "Jane" too! I ALWAYS thought he was saying "James", but I just don't hear those "m" and "s" noises anymore! It's very distinc to me: he's saying "Jane"... (Ya think ya know the basics, and then something like this goes and makes ya question your integrity... and your hearing...) kai lyn 16:56, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm actually not that experienced with Homestar Runner, and I'm quite new, so I just might have heard it wrong. I tried it again, and I just barely heard "James"; the "S" is really hard to hear. Anyway, I also found something interesting. Look in the Remarks section. --AAA! (AAAA) 08:32, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Main Page 6
It can't be accessed from the unfinished Main Page 6.--ONESTOP 16:35, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it is unfinished, after all. Further, homsar came out in 2001, while that page's copyright date reads 2000. He wasn't even made yet when they were designing that page, let alone the Homsar Main Page (made in 2003). --DorianGray 23:41, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kelsey Grammer and "Beat State"--a pun?
Just a suggestion--Kelsey Grammer is a bizarre pun: 'Grammar' (spelt with an A, but pronounced in the same fashion as Grammer, obviously) is a word for school. So the school 'mascot' is a dinosaur, and, presumably, the Kelsey Grammar is up against the "State (school or college)" team. Just my humble opinion.
- Maybe see Analysis of Homsar's Speech Patterns.. though I'm not a fan of that article. OptimisticFool 11:45, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting analysis... but but I think one can stretch Homsar's words to mean just about anything since they're so bizarre. I think the dinosaur is just a random thing that pops up with no real meaning, much like Homsar himself. - Del Taco? 13:37, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Another reference to add?
When Strong Sad says "How did you get up there? I don't think this is such a good idea!", he's probably refering to A Folky Tale. Just an idea, as Homsar is at the top of the rope. CoachX 18:58, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- It would be remarkably amazing if he was referring to A Folky Tale, given it wouldn't exist for another two years after this Main Page was created. --Jaybor Day (Talk) 20:37, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
