Talk:Hip Hop
From Homestar Runner Wiki
[edit] Recreation
Retromaniac, I deleted a page just like this article, made by you twice, then it was voted upon for deletion and deleted again. Here is the archived deletion discussion:
I don't believe that "Hip Hop" warrants a page to itself. It could be a paragraph or even a subsection of Coach Z, but not an article. — Lapper (talk) 23:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Plus, "Not Talkin' Bout Butter" is most definitely not a hip-hop song. ¤ The Mü Talk to me. 23:13, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- I concur that this does not have a place as an article. I think that it could be merged with Coach Z, or we could merge it with Heavy Metal (and any other applicable articles) to make an article about "Musical Genres" or something like that. Heimstern Läufer 23:14, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Giving a page a different name, changing the general content and wording, and recreating it three months after it was originally deleted does not change the situation. However, we can have another vote for deletion. — Lapper (talk) 23:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- I apologize. I just thought that I'd found more substance and that gave it more reasons to have a page. You can merge it. Retromaniac 23:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- {edit conflict; written before Retro wrote "You can merge it"} Maybe you have. It would probably have been better to discuss creating the page first, though, since something similar has already been through the deletion process. Meanwhile, if you think you do have ideas to make it a worthwhile article, I think we should in fact discuss it: the fact that it wasn't a good article then doesn't mean it can't be one now. - My original article mostly made references to Coach Z, and also to Not Talkin' Bout Butter (which isn't rap). Therefore, it deserved to be deleted, as it only legitimatley referenced one character. Now, I have three characters who've clearly done rap, therefore making it a little better. Retromaniac 02:00, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- This doesn't warrant an article, but Grout Clean'r and The Bug do? Rap is almost as recurring as heavy metal. Keep. — Darth Katana

- Yes. Keep. I don't think there's been much debate on this for a while. Heimstern Läufer 23:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
