[edit] Voices

Isn't it noteworthy that the shareholders sound like the Peasent's Quest narrator?

Not when you consider almost all the voices on the site are done by one person. — It's dot com 18:52, 4 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 2 places

The Place mentioned is the office, but what about the meeting room where they are supposed to present the earnings?-ashley

Well, Ash, the meeting room is contained within the office, so it's not really necessary to list them both. I have updated The Office to include information on the different rooms. — It's dot com 22:07, 9 Jul 2005 (UTC)

[edit] did ya ever notice

how Homestar's messed up eyes look a lot like eyelashes? -Kinsey

I'm not sure that's a valid conjecture/reference. They're tilted to look tired, or drowsy. -EdgeMaster025

[edit] It's not necessary

I think people know what a shareholder is. »ßenit, known as señor« 00:17, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

No, they don't. I didn't know until I read this - איש אוגיות ק Image:kookysig.gif (שיחה) (דברים שעשיתי)

[edit] Commentary Remarks

I need some links, and for someone to know what Scripps is.--Robert Benedicio 06:03, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

I threw in some links for ya, before even seeing this. I'd like to know what Scripps is too. --DorianGray
Scripps refers to the National Spelling Bee or something like that. If someone else doesn't, I will go back and Fun-Factify these commentaries I transcribed; I just haven't gotten to it yet. I'm putting priority on actually transcribing more of them and my "quotes around captions" project. Heimstern Läufer 06:09, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Possible remark...

Homestar actually starts to spell "liability" correctly. --Jnelson09 17:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Why would we note this? Heimstern Läufer 03:56, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I think it is something to note about Homestar's possible intelligence F123979
So put it on his character page. Doesn't really belong here. — It's dot com 04:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I don't even think it belongs there... "oh wow, look, this guy ISN'T dumb enough that he always spells things wrong" isn't really notable. — Defender1031*Talk 04:03, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
I agree. It's like saying: "In homsar, Homsar actually calls Strong Bad his real name." DevonM(talk·cont-ribs) 04:13, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, that would be a question for the talk page there. I think Homestar's varying intelligence is an interesting part of his character (especially how puppet Homestar is much smarter than his animated counterpart because Matt Chapman is quick witted and forgets that Homestar is dim). None of that is really relevant to this toon, though. — It's dot com 04:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
Any character behaving with normal intelligence is unnotable. This is not like he knows Columb's Law, he knowshow to spell "liability" - and does so at the dumbest of times. Noting the fact he gets it right only serves to explain the humor. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 05:08, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Shareholder identities?

Mike Chapman portrays the left shareholder and Ryan Sterritt portrays the right shareholder.

This fact was first mentioned in December 2005 on the Shareholders article, citing the DVD commentary (which had not yet been added to this page). The fact was added to this page in May 2006, several months after the other DVD info was added. However, this is not mentioned in the commentary at all. I double-checked it and there's not anything that could be mistaken for "Ryan" (the {incomprehensible} is a brief murmur that's not a full sentence). Is it possible that the original editor mistook the voices for Mike and Ryan? Is this confirmed elsewhere (e.g. something recognizable about the hands, them wearing the suits without heads obscured, mentioned in another commentary)? Or should this 'fact' be removed from both pages? -- Bleu Ninja 05:56, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

MIKE: That was my line. I think that's me. ---J∃ffJMan 12:16, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Additionally, I think we could ask on twitter... Is this too arbitrary? Is any wiki question too arbitrary? --J∃ffJMan 12:18, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Before going to twitter we should make sure we leave no stone unturned: MATT: That's Mike. {incomprehensible} Maybe the part about Ryan is buried inside the "incomprehensible" part? --Stux 12:50, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
I could listen again, I have the DVDs at home... but I'm not at home --J∃ffJMan 13:20, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
I relistened to it to check for that, the "incomprehensible" is a brief one-word mumble that doesn't match "the other guy is Ryan Sterritt" or anything like that. -- Bleu Ninja 17:03, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
I think it might be Ryan because Matt's puppeteering, ever thought of that? --J∃ffJMan 17:11, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
That's entirely possible, but it could also be another contributor like Jonathan Howe or a friend who came by during production. Sterritt does seem to show up the most but it's not clear enough to be definitive. -- Bleu Ninja 17:25, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Maybe mumble could be "and Ryan"? I wonder if there's a separate resource (DVD commentary and/or interview) that mentions or shows Ryan Sterritt working as a shareholder? His page does mention lots of involvement in DVD production. It seems likely though definitive proof would be nice. Also, for reference we do have a Questions page. --Stux 17:52, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Re-relistened to the commentary. It's a bit hard to differentiate when the brothers are mumbling and talking over each other but the transcript should be more accurate and intelligible now. Again, no mention of Ryan; I'm going to remove his mention from both pages unless there is actual evidence of his role. -- Bleu Ninja 20:23, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
