[edit] Saved by the border

The pink border is a reference to shows like Saved by the Bell, which used the same border for its dream sequences.

Arguments for:

  1. TBC refer to the SBTB pink borders in the DVD commentary.
  2. Re: arg against: perhaps this should be reworded to be more specific, but this wording is acceptable since TBC acknowledge the reference in their commentary.
    1. Seconded. I say propose a revision for the wording. (I would, but I'm kinda new to STUFF so I don't know how.)
      1. No revision needed. They said it was a reference, it's a reference. TTATOT does not exist.

Arguments against:

  1. TTATOT, "a reference to shows like ..." is a clear indication of this.
  2. Response to arg 2.1.1 TTATOT does exist when you have things saying "this is a reference to things like..." The very essence of TTATOT is wording like this. Revision=very yes.

Proposed revision:

The pink border is a reference to Saved by the Bell, which used the same border for its dream sequences. This was confirmed by The Brothers Chaps in the DVD commentary for this email.

Arguments for:

  1. Removes any TTATOT from the fact. TBC indicate this specific reference in their commentary.
  2. It's good to note this even though it's listed in the commentary below — if people are looking for this information, they may not think to read the DVD commentary.

Arguments against:

  1. The original was fine.

Additional comments:

  • Just for fun, I checked the article history, and this fact was added to the article before the DVD version was released. It's always fun when TBC confirm what we thought were references.
  • If TBC say it in the commentary, then it must be true. I guess I just didn't like the wording, that's all. This revision is fine, voting to accept.
  • In the DVD commentary, the Brothers Chaps say that "The pink board was ... pioneered by Saved By the Bell." Isn't this enough citation for what the Brothers Chaps intended, (straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak)? So, couldn't we just be content with saying something like "Saved by the Bell was a TV show from the late eighties" under the DVD commentary fun facts? Tacking the part on about the "pink boarder" just seems redundant and excessive... Plus, it's still very much TTATOT...
  • How about adding, "As confirmed by The Brothers Chaps in the DVD commentary..."
    • Good idea; I've added it. (Note that the link will no longer be broken if this fact is added to the article).
