Menus
Main Menu
The 1980s video game theme runs throughout the entire DVD's menus.
{Cut to static on-screen and the screen distorting for several seconds before coming into full focus. The main menu has "Everything Else, vol. 3" flashing, the year 1982 and poorly-rendered versions of Homestar and Strong Bad's heads. The colors will cycle through like an Atari 2600 game. After a while, if you fail to make a decision on what to see, a Puppet Stuff scene activates.}
{the screen starts to distort and a high pitched whine is heard, like it does at the start of the DVD}
STRONG BAD: What the crap!? What's wrong with this stupid game?
HOMESTAR RUNNER: What's wrong here, Strong Bad?
STRONG BAD: For some reason, my used copy of a twenty year old video game won't work.
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Oh, them ol' game tapes? You gots to blow in 'em, like this! {Homestar blows a raspberry}
STRONG BAD: Ew...
HOMESTAR RUNNER: Now give it a shot.
STRONG BAD: Okay.
{A zapping sound is heard and the screen flashes. The screen returns to the menu, with smoke coming out of Strong Bad's head.}
STRONG BAD: WAAAH!
HOMESTAR RUNNER HEAD ON SCREEN: See, I told you it'd work.
STRONG BAD HEAD ON SCREEN: Urrg, pixel... burger...
{The smoke disappears and the cycle repeats}
Section Menus
Each of the individual sections' menus, like the main menu, are themed after early 1980s video games. Each menu also features music reminiscent of early 80s video games.
- Toons: A loop of Homestar running in The Field and jumping over the following (in order): The Stick, a glass of melonade, Marshie, a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew, a floppy diskette and the Soapbox. Music is based on the Intro music.
- Shorts: The King of Town atop his castle dropping turkey legs off. Music is based on the King of Town DVD theme.
- Holidays: The Cheat running around a winter-themed maze (complete with snow and pine trees) collecting various power-ups. He collects two of each (in order): a candy cane and a present, a burger and a pair of glasses and an Atari 2600 joystick and a football. Mystery music.
- Other Features: The heads of Strong Bad and Homestar shoot squares at each other and hide behind floating shields. No music.
- Bonus: The Limozeen spaceship shooting guitars and picking up ladies with a tractor beam. Music is based on Because, It's Midnite.
