Ding! Holidays is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

How is this list different from the Toons list? The Wiki is not a database no matter how much you try to make it one. - Drhaggis 19:25, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)

Maybe it's just a different way to look at the toons? --Southpaw018 19:56, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)

It also has all the toons that aren't listed in the Holiday Toons Menu. Things like the Halloween Answering Machine, the Homestar Vs Little Girl 2, things that SHOULD be Holiday, but are listed somewhere else. This was just a rough list, if anyone wants to maybe find a way of organizing this page, Puppet Stuff, and Powered by The Cheat In similar fashions of each other, (not neccisarrily this way, this is just a rough list) feel free to do so. But basically the main purposes of the three pages are to list additional toons that SHOULD be in that catergory, but are not. like Homestar Runner Vs Little Girl 1, It's in the holiday, when it could be in Puppet Stuff as well. And Labor Dabor being in Puppet Stuff, when it's got a bit of Powered By The Cheat in it. That's how it's different from the Toons list. I dunno. I just made this page as a list, How it's organized along with the other two are up to the Wiki. Any Volunteers? -- Thunderbird 20:14, 17 Nov 2004 (MST)

Thanksgiving

Although Happy T and colonization may look like seperate Holidays, they were added right around Thanksgiving of their respective years, they're clearly related, I think it's fair to say that they are one and the same. Thunderbird 19:23, 27 Mar 2005 (MST)

Birthdays, Among Others...

Why does everybody keep deleting random stuff on this page, and shuffling it all around, without giving a reason/discussion on this page? Namely for deleting all the birthday refferances, including the one towards Cheatday. But why is a 'minor holidays' page needed just for the three of them? The reason I added them to their own catergories was to make a timeline of holidays throughout the year, which is incomplete when just three holidays are thrown at the bottom. Is the general feeling that this is the incorrect way to go, or is it just a few? Thunderbird 00:20, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Trogga kept deleting the stuff, and I kept putting it back. The discussion is on Trogga's talk page. Aurora the Homestar Coder 00:29, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

I see that there's a reference to Strong Bad's statement that he doesn't want to turn 150, which could be interpereted as a birthday reference in normal conversation, but I think that in this case it's not connected to his real birthday and shouldn't be included as a "Holiday Toon"Vash Lupin VI

Minor Holidays

Why do certain people keep moving a select few holidays to 'minor holidays'? My argument is that besides messing up the chronological lineage, they aren't even minor holidays. It's simply a point of view. Holidays like New Years, it doesn't have it's own toon. Mother's Day does. So which one is minor? In my opinion, neither. Anyone else have a point of view they would like to share? Thunderbird 23:36, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Halloween emails

The email halloweener is already in the Halloween list. Shouldn't ghosts be, too? They were both released on October 31. — It's dot com 18:19, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Uh, it isn't? {looks} It's really not. Huh. Of course it SHOULD be there... --Jay (Gobble) 18:20, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Pumpkin Stencils

If we have Happy T, I don't see why we can't have pumpkin stencils. Unless anyone objects... Thunderbird 01:10, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

I didn't notice that it was already there in 2004. I merged the two occurances, hopefully that satisfies everybody. Thunderbird 01:12, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

This year's Halloween toon

I wonder when this one is coming out, and what everybody will be dressed as this year. Anyone else looking forward to this one? --ISlayedTheKerrek 19:05, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

I think its safe to say that these are a favorite for H*R fans and we'll all be waiting to see their costumes. I R F 19:14, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
And I'd also bet 50p that there'll be at least one mention of Witches' Brew as well. --DorianGray
dorian wins 50p. If anyone accepted the bet (I didn't). — talk Bubsty edits 04:48, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Decemberween

I'm fairly certain that this is also a dig at how Christmas celebrations tend to creep up earlier and earlier as shops gear up for last-minute buyers.

perhaps, perhaps not. — talk Bubsty edits 18:19, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Page Title

Though I originally started this page as "Holiday Toons", in reference to how it's labled in the Toons menu, it has really evolved to be a list of all "Holiday References", or probably just "Holidays". So I'll throw it out here, anybody think it should be moved, or stay as is? I like how it fits with Puppet Stuff, Powered By The Cheat, in that they're all mainly a list of every instance of that particular style, whether it's listed in the menu or not. The only problem is that this page has the addional "Toons" word. Thunderbird 02:40, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm fine with just Holidays. Bluebry 02:46, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

I am ANGRY

They keep skiping the Holiday emails! Was there a Decemberween 2005, NO and was there a July 4th 2006 NO

And do you have to pay for any of the content of H*R? No. — It's dot com 02:40, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

colonization*?

Why is there an asterisk after the link to colonization? Typo or non-existant footnote? »Blendage t.c :: 17:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

It's a leftover from this edit. So, yeah. That thing you said. --DorianGray

Redirects

I haven't investigated all of the holidays, but I have found that "Halloween" redirects to this page, but "April Fools' Day" doesn't. Any special reason for that? OptimisticFool 07:03, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Halloween was originally created as a separate page, but it was decided that it didn't need its own article. However, instead of just deleting the page, it was redirected to Holidays#Halloween (October 31st). Homestar-Winner (talk) 09:59, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
My question was actually more about why "April Fools' Day" doesn't redirect here. OptimisticFool 21:37, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

End of School Entry

You can check the page's history for my entry, which people have deleted because this is a Wiki. The new Teen Girl Squad episode was very good and reminded me of high school, and I do believe that the End of School counts as a holiday. I would think most people would agree with me. It's even on some calendars and it is in Animal Crossing as one - it's universal as well. Why would it not be a holiday and be on the holiday list?

The end of school is not a holiday; it's an event. It is celebrated, but not in the same sense that the rest of the days listed on the page are. — It's dot com 15:26, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
