Contents

Button Effects

  • Toons — "Oh, man, I hate this guy!" A dart will be thrown at a picture of Homestar Runner. You can add up to 5 darts by rolling over the button again.
  • Games — The game "Night Driver" will play on the TV. "Oh, I love this game. I got a high score, man, fifty thousand! Try and beat that!"
  • Characters — A black light comes on and a clip from "Do You Feel Like We Do?" by Peter Frampton plays, while Strong Bad gushes, "Oh, check it out, this guy's guitar is totally talking!"
  • Downloads — The stereo plays "Poot-Slap".
  • Store — "Help yourself to those chips, man. I mean, they've been there since like The Cheat's birthday party but..." A cockroach, possibly Gavin, crawls out of the chip bag.
  • Email — The unicorn poster peels back to reveal a poster of Farrah Fawcett. "Why hello there, Buda Sita, you looking good tonight."

Fun Facts

Trivia

  • The original "Night Driver" game for the Atari 2600 is played with the paddles, not the joystick as pictured.

Remarks

  • The Quotes, Weekly Fanstuff, and Sketchbook boxes appear slightly off-center, due to the black space on either side of the menu.
  • Strong Bad's old voice is used for all of the buttons except Store and Email, where his modern voice is used instead. His modern voice is also used when you beat his high score in Nighttime Driving Type Game.

Goofs

  • If you roll over the Store button, then wait about 10 seconds, you return to the Homestar Talker. This is stopped if you roll over any of the other buttons, except for Downloads.
  • When you roll over Characters and the black light comes down, the chips, darts, and poster of Homestar do not change color, except for Homestar's tongue.

Glitches

  • If you put the mouse over "Toons" several times in quick succession, some darts may freeze in mid-flight, or while wobbling. In this situation, putting the mouse over it again will move the frozen dart to another frozen position. Each subsequent dart is unaffected by what is done to a previous dart.
  • After Strong Bad says his line when you mouse over the Toons, Games, Characters, and E-mail buttons, all the buttons (except for the buttons to the left, "SB" Museum link included) disappear briefly. This is particularly noticeable in the Main Page Messages alert oval, since the sequence of messages starts over.
  • Clicking the baby lady message that appeared from July 2, 2007 and onwards caused the message to appear behind both Strong Bad and the "Store" button.
  • By right clicking and pressing forward several times, you can get strait from the Homestar Talker to the Strong Bad Main Page. If you continue to do so on the page, Strong Bad will frame by frame mouth the words that he says when using the buttons on the right. Occasionally the page will automatically go through the entire animation and audio just by using Right Click Forward.

Inside References

  • Though it is unsure and probably unlikely, this might be an appearance of Gavin.

Real-World References

  • The Unicorn blacklight poster is "Unicorn In Paradise" (allegedly) by Funky Enterprises, Inc.
  • The Farrah Fawcett poster is considered to be the best-selling pin-up poster of all time, with more than 12 million copies sold.
  • "Do You Feel Like We Do?" is a 14-minute song from the classic album Frampton Comes Alive! where by using a talk box Frampton would make his guitar "talk" (as Strong Bad pointed out). Strong Bad's comment closely resembles, and may be a reference to, the The Simpsons episode Homerpalooza where the character Jimbo says "Man, that guy's guitar is talking" during Frampton's performance of the song.

Fast Forward

STRONG BAD: Oh, you beat my high score, huh? Well, check this out, I just finished this game. {Shows you the screen, his score is one point higher than yours.} Oh, tough luck, man! I guess it's back to the drawing board for you! Or, back to the Night Driving board, or uh.... Get out of my basement!
