While long outdated, cassette tapes are in surprisingly widespread use by most of the site's characters.

- Marzipan's Answering Machine episodes 1-8 used an answering machine where the tape is visible. This machine also appeared in the email personal favorites.
- A Jorb Well Done — Strong Sad gives Coach Z a tape labeled "Job—285,194 times."
- Email theme party (Easter Egg) — A cassette tape plays Circles by The Kinda Long-Haired Band.
