While long outdated, cassette tapes are in surprisingly widespread use by most of the site's characters.
Appearances
- Marzipan's Answering Machine episodes 1-8 used an answering machine where the tape is visible. This machine also appeared in the email personal favorites.
- A Jorb Well Done — Strong Sad gives Coach Z a tape labeled "Job—285,194 times."
- theme party (Easter Egg) — A cassette tape plays Circles by The Kinda Long-Haired Band.
- Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 11.2 — Strong Bad pretends to be Bob Statesman who is running for Elected Official and says that donations can be money, cupcakes, and hard rock albums on cassette.
- Email flashback — At the end of the story, everyone dances to a remix of the original intro on The Cheat's extremely expensive jambox with high-speed dubbing.
- Email time capsule — Strong Bad puts a tape of his "number one jam" in a time capsule; it later is eaten by Stinkoman, for whom it acts as a Power Crunch. Also, in an Easter Egg, the tape is shown while the song "Grumblecakes" plays.
- Stinkoman 20X6 — 1-Up "borrows" Stinkoman's Power Crunch in Level 4, causing Stinkoman to protect 1-Up in the Lava Zone (to protect the Power Crunch).
- Cool Things — A cassette is used as the ending screen. Homestar peeks through one of its holes.
- senior prom — Strong Bad tapes a cassette tape to a clock radio in an attempt to trick Strong Mad and The Cheat into thinking it's an answering machine.
- Email coloring — The Limozeen Coloring Book comes with a cassette tape that tells you how to color.
- Rap Song — Peacey P flies in outer space on a cassette tape labeled "????????".
