Talk:Strong Bad Email Descriptions

It has been suggested that the content of the page this talk page accompanies should not be a separate article on the wiki.

Please discuss below whether the content of the page should have its own article. Remember to consider ways the content could be brought up to the wiki's standards before making this determination.

If it is decided that the content should not have its own article, then the following additional issues need to be addressed:

Whether to merge the content with another page or remove it entirely.
Whether to redirect the leftover page or delete it outright.

After all the effort of compiling this list... I discover that the menu descriptions are already on Strong Bad Email Menu. I don't think we have a centralized list of YouTube descriptions, though, and there's a lot of overlap between the two. --Jay (Gobble) 06:42, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, about that last part...

Personally, I don't see much of a reason to keep this page, except that I don't want to see your hard work go to waste. What if we broadened the scope a bit? We can add toon descriptions too, there's no reason to limit this to just emails.

Oh, wow, crazy stuff. I think I want to agree on all points raised above? It's somewhat redundant, but I don't want the hard work to go to waste eithe! We should merge the youtube column with Strong Bad Email Menu (that way at least 50+% of the work isn't wasted!) and it would be nice to create a new page for toons in general (an SBE section could link to Strong Bad Email Menu). Finally, I don't think this page should be deleted (maybe turned into a redirect for Strong Bad Email Menu after merging, in order to preserve history?) --Stux 09:08, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

At first I was skeptical of merging the two pages, because YouTube descriptions aren't really relevant to the menu. However, there are a lot of shared descriptions between the two of them, and the menu even links to YouTube now, so it does seem somewhat relevant to that page now that I think about it. (And yes, regardless of what happens, this page definitely shouldn't be deleted outright. Even if this page never existed, Strong Bad Email Descriptions would be a great redirect for Strong Bad Email Menu.)

Just a reminder that this page both exists and serves the purpose of this page better, however, I do like the chart styles and the red "this isn't on youtube" thing, that I feel would be a valuable commodity if not for the list on the homestarrunnerdotcom page. Personally, I kinda think this page does not need to exist. The descriptions are already listed on the articles, and there is no point listing them. - HoveringSombrero (talk)

Hey, it's MeowMeow. This feels relevant enough that I think we should keep it. Especially considering that Strong Bad Emails are one of the most popular things on the site, it feels like we should probably not remove this page. Your friendly wiki editor, User:MeowMeow.

So far, I believe that this is much tidier than the Strong Bad Email section on HRWiki:Descriptions.
