[edit] Food Running Gag
Puke is not a food, therefore it should not be a food running gag. Retromaniac 04:58, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it was food... - Qermaq - (T/C) 05:05, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- >_O I mean, that's just gross. Just plain old gross. Surely activity running gags is sufficient? Heimstern Läufer 05:16, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm with Qermaq. Well, I mainly find it immensely funny to be in the food running gag category ;-) Loafing 09:10, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just don't see puke as an "activity". All the references to it are food-related, gross as it is. I think every category you will put this in will be gross. I mean, it's puke after all. — Elcool (talk)(contribs) 11:02, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- We do have a fairly wide definition of "activity"; apparently, "Dislike of Old People" is one, as are "Featuring Oneself" and "Identity Confusion". It's almost the catch-all category for anything that doesn't fit into another. -- Mithent 12:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I looked through the appearances, expecting most of them to be food-unrelated (e.g., theme park), but there are actually many that are food-related — either characters puke up food (e.g. Marshmallow's Last Stand), or they puke in response to the sight (e.g. Rap Song) or taste (e.g. Fortune Cookies) of food. So, given that quite a few of them relate to food, I think the food running gag category is actually appropriate, regardless of how gross a person thinks that is. Trey56
- Je suis d'accord avec Trey. Puking isn't really an activity, and being in the food category is still pretty hilarious. -Brightstar Shiner 16:45, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Are you guys serious? This is just sick and wrong. Heimstern Läufer 17:21, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Permit me to say that I hate the idea of this being in the food category. OptimisticFool 17:26, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Seriously, Food Running Gags should be about things one eats. Not things one has eaten. As for "activity", we don't use activity in the sense of "recreation" or "things to do in your spare time" as it concerns this category. We mean anything one does, regardless of what. Heimstern Läufer 17:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Peeing is an activity running gag.. and that might as well fall into the food category .. you know, since it used to be Melonade (at least in some cases .. and Melonade is a food running gag, despite being a liquid). Anyway, let's stop being ridiculous. Retromaniac said it best. OptimisticFool 17:35, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- The discrepancy here, I think, is that the two of you feel that if an article is in the Food running gags category, then the article subject must be a food. On the other hand, I just think it means that the article subject somehow inherently relates to food (which it does, looking at the appearances on this page). Trey56 17:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I have two secondary things to bring up that would affect the above. First, if we'd ever implement the years-old plan to move all running gags categories from "Whatever Running Gags" to "Whatever-Related Running Gags", then this question might be easier to answer. Puking would seem to be a food-related running gag. Second, however, I question whether this is really a running gag. The appearances, ranging from mere queasiness to full-blown chunks, aren't consistent enough for a gag. I'd say this is more of a recurring theme (whose category, incidentally, is not yet split). — It's dot com 17:51, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- So what's the difference between a running gag and a recurring theme? I think Dot Com has a good point, and that if we move the category to Food-related Running Gags, Puking could fit rather nicely. -Brightstar Shiner 18:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- The answer to that question can be found at Category talk:Recurring Themes. OptimisticFool 18:55, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link. Now that I looked at it, Puking is probably best fit for a recurring theme. And since that category isn't split up, we don't have to worry about it being a food or an activity. And btw (I seem to say that a lot ^_^;), puking making you hungry? Eww... -Brightstar Shiner 19:18, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replace Image?
- Would it be appropriate to change the image of Coach Z to the looking old picture that Dr. Clash uploaded. It seems better. TheYellowDart—(t/c) 00:28, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
