Since Marzipan is the only female lead in the Homestar Runner universe, characters sometimes remark about that fact.

- Who Said What? — When the wheel lands on Marzipan, she says, "I'm the only girl."
- Homestar Runner's Character Video — Homestar says he dates the only girl.
- Halloween Potion-ma-jig — When Homestar turns into Freaky Marzipan, Marzipan says "Hooray! I'm not the only girl!"
- Why Come Only One Girl? — The entire toon and commentary explain why Marzipan is the only girl on the website. The commentary also explains The Brothers Chaps' numerous attempts at introducing another female character.
