Ding! Rejected Characters is a featured article, which means it showcases an important part of the Homestar Runner body of work and/or highlights the fine work of this wiki. We also might just think it's cool. If you see a way this page can be updated or improved without compromising previous work, feel free to contribute.

For information on why this page was created please see talk and this talk (This page is far from complete, don't delete it just yet)E.L. Cool 16:25, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Why exactly do we need this? We have a category for aborted characters. --TROGGA! 00:16, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I like to see all these charaters in one page. Right now they all have short stub pages so I thought it would me nice to marge then all together. E.L. Cool 04:13, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

This IS kinda a useful page, like if people want to see some old characters, that are no longer/make few appearnces on the site? HrWiki is definetely a useful place, and the more articles, the better! Just don't keep the useless and blank pages. I think this article is just fine, and I really don't see why it needs to be deleted. Aw, crap. I forgot what I was gonna say now. Oh well. -Darklinkskywalker

He's right. With this, we'll be able to delete the individual pages, and the bandwidth will never be exceeded again! P.S. - You forgot Trivia Time. --Technochocolate 03:30, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

That's not what bandwidth is. Bandwidth is the amount of information transmitted from the server, not the amount of information stored on the server. Aurora the Homestar Coder 03:31, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Ya, this is a nice page that will give an idea about what H*R used to be like. I say keep it.-Jeffrey

Homeschool may not make a bunch of appearances, but every loyal fan to the site knows him. And keep the Unguiriantes, or whatever. I can't spell them. they were almost in a major toon, and I like them.

I don't see why you want to delete it so bad. It's way easier than visiting each article seperately, and since they all have about three sentences each it seems like common sense to keep this and delete the seperate atricles. 82.43.178.225 15:08, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Are we settled?

It seems that most people want to save this page, as I do. Do we agree to keep this page and get rid of the stubs? I would myself, but I don't know what I can and can't do very much. Ju Ju Master 13:47, 5 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I guess we r, cause the page is UNSTUBB'D! — talk Bubsty edits

[edit] What?

What does "nintendo-style" mean for the Unguraits? SaltyTalk! 04:00, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

I think it means how they're kinda like the enemies... in nintendo...I don't know...I'll shut up now. talk Bubsty edits 00:07, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
They look more like Jawas to me. --Sam Goldfish 20:03, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
I think they look a little bit like the Mario series bandits.~16_BIT_MARIO1 22:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia Time

"An early version of the quiz had Trivia Time as an answer."

Really? I didn't notice a meantion of it on Homestar Quiz. Could we either expand on this, or get rid of it? Thunderbird 06:20, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] front page. nice.

As with all famous cartoon character ensembles, Homestar Runner went through its fair share of character line-up changes early on, before the final group of twelve main characters was chosen.

Twelve main characters? LOL, somebody should tke Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper painting and replace all the apostles with Homestar Runner characters. --NERD42  email  talk   h²g²  pedia  uncyc  12:39, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Nah, it reminds me of the top twelve in American Idol. Seriously (Talk) 12:52, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thought Balloon

Is there any significance to the thought balloon on Homeschool Winner's shirt? Interestingly, both quotation marks (see his eyes) and thought balloons are ways to indicate that a character is speaking. Trey56 20:43, 11 Aug 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Old Talk Pages

Hey guys I put the old talk pages for these characters up for deletion and moved their contents here. -- The Real Zajac 16:21, 24 Feb 2006 (PST)

[edit] Homeschool Winner

  • A character that looks like Homeschool Winner is among the sketches in the booklet that comes in the Strong Bad Sings CD. He's on the far right of the last page.
  • HOMESCHOOL WINNER'S MENTIONED IN THE STRONG BAD EMAIL DVD! Sorry, I'm just really excited. In the bonus feature where the Chapman brothers are playing with the voices, and Mike breaks the Bubs "voice tube", Matt says: "Great, we'll have to kill Bubs off. Just like Homeschool Winner."

Homsar999 0:25, 13 Nov 2004 (CST)

I heard that Homeschool Winner was the original prototype for Homsar. As Homsar gained in popularity, they didn't need to use Homeschool Winner anywhere.

Homsar? Really? They look nothing alike! That's cool, where did you hear that? I'm probobly going to dress up as him for a halloween costume party. User:Stongbah

They look alike to me; same color scheme, are both Homestar-like characters, and were both named after attempts to say "Homestar." --TROGGA! 03:00, 8 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, but besides that, there really wasn't any connection. It would be cool if there was, though.--Jnelson09 23:43, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Maybe the fact that characters either only mentioned (Senor and Mr. Bland) or expected not to be used (Trogador) have been given some screen time, The Brothers Chap may be considering some of their old ideas. Given the personality line for Homeschool Winner, he - if used - could take the place of Strong Bad's original role as the villain. Either that or be a worthy rival for Strong Bad. Horray for Overbite Homestar . . . er, Homeschool Winner. Zhaleskra

[edit] The Unguraits

Hey, does anyone think the unguraits will ever be used? TBC did come close with the blue laser thing.

[edit] Dijjery-Doo

[edit] Re-Introduction of Mr. Doo

I think Dijery should be The Cheat's long lost brother/cousin.

Should be? I'm not following. -- Tom 14:36, 26 Mar 2005 (MST)

I think he's saying we should call him The Cheat's Cousin. - T.C.

[edit] Trivia Time (Part Deuce)

I like the one on the upper left--Tiggera 17:41, 21 Sep 2004 (MST)

I like the one in the centre to the right. Poopsmith Z

I Like the Center right too Image:Homsar-in-motion.gifHomsar7(Hom · Sar)Image:Homsar-in-motion.gif

-he is no longer rejected: actually used in thiss weeks sbemail 72.28.140.169 21:24, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Not so. The cookie jar was used, as it has been several times before. Trivia Time was meant to be an actual dog, though. The idea of him being an actual dog has long been rejected. --DorianGray 21:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lil Brudder?

The lowest one on the far right looks like a Li'l Brudder with no legs.

Don't you mean "with no leg"?

I think it looks like Sherlock mixed with a dog. --Technochocolate 19:55, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Why Come Only One Girl?

Shouldn't the characters featured in that be included here? --Ragey 11:40, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I'd add them, but I don't have pictures of them. Shwoo 11:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Homeschool Winner Page

I think Homeschool Winner should have a page. He's had 4 appearences so far! 71.212.88.85 03:55, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Trivia Time cookie jar shpuld also hav un pagu. someone whos not 71.212.88.85 03:56, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't really call it 4 appearances. He was on an old card, he was in Dancin' Bubs, he was referred to here and in Sample Of Style. Not enough to merit an article. Trivia Time is similarly underrepresented, in my opinion, though you could raise a stronger argument there. Qermaq - (T/C) Image:Qermaqsigpic.png 04:15, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I think he deserves an article. He was in character cards and Dancin' Bubs, he was mentioned in Sample of style, and he was seen in last weeks sketchbook and in SBmail Buried. That's five mentions.--KirbychuHR'D 12:10, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
He at least needs a reference to his unprecedented popularity in fan fiction (because I have enough time to type both syllables) and that might be enough information to garner him a page --DarkAlex 06:21, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wind Waker?

It says in the article that The Hurricane was scrapped because of Wind Waker but the connection between the two, while intriguing, is not exactly clear. Can somebody with the info please clarify this?

It's explained in the commentary for Why Come Only One Girl?. The Chaps were too distracted by the latest Zelda game to work on the character. Loafing 06:04, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia Time: Independent dog?

Yeah, yeah, cheesy newspaper-like subject. Considering that we actually have a decent list of appearances, while the other rejected characters have barely, should we at least make him have is own separate article? I think he's starting to pop-up enough that he needs to have his own article. Also, it seems to be a notable part of the universe as it is. --75.28.91.38 23:32, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Agree. At least, I think the cookie jar should have a separate page, which can be linked from the section about the actual dog on this page. -170.223.0.54 23:35, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
After some research, I found that Trivia Time had an article until 12 August 2005, when it became a redirect to "Old Characters". Unfortunately, I could not find the reasons for such a change. If any sysops are reading this, could you please restore the Trivia Time Talk page? BBG 23:49, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Done. It appears there was little discussion on the matter, though. Earlier days when policies like that were less developed, I suppose. Heimstern Läufer 23:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
You mean there was no discussion. Should we start one? Homestar-Winner (talk) 00:19, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
