Birthday?

The email came out on 7/11. Nibbles announces it's his birthday inside a FPM commercial! Commercials are meant to play over and over and over and over and over and over and over again! IMHO his date of birth is completely unknown. -- tomstiff 17:27, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Pictures

We have three pictures that were created only for the purpose of this article. One or two of these will have to go. In my opinion, nibble.PNG is the one that should get thrown. nibbles.PNG is an adequate replacement for that. marshievsnibbles2.PNG is good if you want to compare Marshie and Nibbles, and make Marshie's detestation toward Nibbles evident. -BazookaJoe 17:47, 12 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Category

In the edits for Nibbles, Trogga states that he removed the Characters category because "Mascots" is a subcategory of Characters. I suppose that's a valid reason, which makes me wonder whether Mascots should be a subcategory of Characters.... Homestar Coder 01:55, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)

To quote Wikipedia:

A mascot is something, typically an animal or human character used to represent a group with a common identity, such as a school, professional sports team, or corporation. American university and school sports teams are often identified primarily by their mascot. Sports team merchandise often bears the team logo as well as mascot. The team will employ an individual to accompany them to home and away games who dresses up as the creature.

Merge again?

I don't think we should just merge this without a little clear discussion on this page, as opposed to some other one where it might not be noticed. I don't have a strong opinion about whether this should be merged (it's more minor than Mr. Shmallow, so I would probably lean support), but we need a little discussion first. Much like with Dragons, I'm fine with "Main Article:" links in Fluffy Puff Mascots, and Nibbles deserves his own page. Nibbles has his own identity and isn't just a picture like Marshie's mom or Strong Sad's dragon. No merge. OptimisticFool 17:07, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

I think the main reasons for merging Nibbles with Fluffy Puff mascots are that, in relative to Mr. Shmallow, he only appeared once and didn't have his own toon. His commercial was a few seconds long as opposed to the full reel of Mr. Shmallow. Normally I'm for minor characters having their own pages, but since we have a page covering several minor characters relating to each other, I think merging this article in it is the way to go. — Elcool ^(talk)_(contribs) 11:00, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Gel-arshie and Nibbles are not the same situation. Gel-arshie is not a separate character; he is just a gelatinised version of Marshie. Nibbles, by contrast, is a completely separate character who deserves his own page. The lack of a Gel-arshie article is not a sufficient argument for not having this one.

I should probably also clarify that part of my opposition to this merge is that I'm against the very existence of the Mascots page. As Gel-arshie is just a variation of Marshie, I believe he should be covered on that page. Mr Shmallow already has his own article, and I believe Nibbles should, too. That leaves only Marshie's mother, who could very easily go back to being covered under Marshie or split off into a separate article. Thus I'd rather we didn't have the Mascots article at all. This one's a close call for me, but I'm going with merge with Fluffy Puff Mascots. If Nibbles had appeared in even one other toon, I would totally say keep, but as it stands, he's really just a one-time joke. So, if he reappears some day, then we should reconsider giving him his own page, but till then I think that merging this page is the way to go. Trey56 00:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Replying to Heimi, I would actually rather get rid of FPM. My idea to merge was just because it seemed no one else would want to get rid of FPM. It doesn't matter that we have a few more articles, right? We at least don't have 2 million articles, in which case we would be needing to do some merging.
