The Brothers Chaps often make reference to the act of giving a high five. In addition to the characters within the Homestar Runner Universe giving and talking about high fives, TBC often use the phrase in public appearances.

- Strong Bad's character video — Strong Bad says, "Dudes, form a line to my right for high fives!" Later, Homestar says, "Well, I was gonna get a high five, but I see that I'm already here. And with a snake on my head!"
- DVD Commentary for Decemberween Sweet Cuppin' Cakes — Mike Chapman says, "Hey, high five."
- TMBG Concert - 25 Sep 2004 — Homestar Runner says, "Oh, I'm always givin' high fives."
- Email technology — Strong Bad says to Pom Pom, "...and he just got into Sundance! High five, brother!"
