''-That's cool, and I appreciate the feedback, not just a deletion.  For my reference, and so I don't add a ton of those, is there some general way to check up on that sort of thing '''before''' an addition?  I'm thinking more specific than just checking the history, because that is tedious at the best of times.  If not, that's fine too.  At this point, I'm also thinking of those things that don't hit the STUFF pages.  Any suggestions?'' The Fabrosi Factor

Hey, B (note that I feel 'gangsta' now). I just reverted your edit of lady...ing, and before you throw up your hands in despair and say, "why! whhhy!?!", I'ma let you know. If memory serves me, the wiki fought a minor battle over the nature of Fabrosi and Van Mundegard (sp) after this sbemail came out. Usually, for about two weeks after a toon or e-mail comes out, everyone and their mother tries to expound on all the minutiae of the content, and people here take these things seriously. So seriously, in fact, that we even have a formal voting process called STUFF for remarks, fun facts, and the like.

Now, I think your point is essentially correct, but others might disagree. Just letting you know your input is appreciated, but those remarks and fun facts are like a cage match, man. I'm 99% sure the battle was fought before - you can even check in the STUFF archives or the "history" of the page.

If it wasn't, put it back.

Cheers,

-That's cool, and I appreciate the feedback, not just a deletion. For my reference, and so I don't add a ton of those, is there some general way to check up on that sort of thing before an addition? I'm thinking more specific than just checking the history, because that is tedious at the best of times. If not, that's fine too. At this point, I'm also thinking of those things that don't hit the STUFF pages. Any suggestions? B 19:59, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Before adding a fact it is always good practice to check the talk page of that article to see if it has already been dicussed and rejected. Closed STUFF can usually be found there as well. STUFF verdicts are also archived, so you can check there too. If it doesn't apper in either place and you think it may be an issue, you can post it on the article's talk page and see what the general consensus is. If you don't think it will be an issue, just post it on the article, and hopefully it will stay.
Hope that helps. small_logo.pngUsername-talk 20:06, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
