Toons — The sky changes color. First it is blue, then orange, purple, red, lavender, and finally blue again.
Games — An airplane comes and drops a bomb.
Characters — Strong Bad jumps on screen. He disappears pixel-by-pixel when you remove the cursor from the button.
Downloads — Background is turned into a moving road from a racing game.
Store — Marzipan goes across the screen chasing a butterfly with a net.
Email — Strong Bad holding the Enchanted Chalice from Adventure runs away from Yorgle the Atari Dragon while yelling, "Somebody get this freakin' duck away from me!"

The scrolling road is like a daytime version of Nighttime Driving Type Game from Strong Bad's Message Bored.
After Strong Bad runs across the screen when the mouse rolls over "Email," the main page navigation at the bottom left and the updates "bubble" and items of the week at the top right reload.

Lowflying plane?

The wing of the airplane will pass over any action happening in The Field. The only thing it does not pass is Homestar Runner's head.

Strong Bad's line is a reference to Homestar Runner's line from the first deleted scenes on In Search Of The Yello Dello DVD. It is also a reference to the yellow dragon of the old Atari game _Adventure_, which looked an awful lot like a duck.
When you scroll over "Downloads", Homestar makes the same sound that the Compy 386 does when you kill the Bad Graphics Ghost in the Strong Bad Email ghosts.

The sound effects for the "Games" button is taken from the Atari 2600 game, Combat. The sound effect that is made when you mouse-over "E-mail" is from the sounds that tanks and planes (in Combat) would make when they are shot. The sound effect when you mouse over the "Characters" button is from the Atari 2600 game, Pitfall! when Pitfall Harry would collect a gold bar, diamond ring, etc. The effect when Strong Bad disappears is from Pac Man for the Atari 2600.
