Occasionally, characters will emit hearts from their heads as a visual expression of feelings of pleasure. Though Homestar Runner (and his 20X6 counterpart, 1-Up) is the character who most frequently emits these hearts, other characters will occasionally show them, too.
The hearts that bubble around Homestar's head are the same ones that appear whenever you type the word "love" using the chat program Hello!.

- Teen Girl Squad Issue 4 — So And So emits hearts thinking about Brett Bretterson. One of the hearts gets killed.
- Email do over — Homestar, dressed as The Cheat, emits hearts when he thinks he's falling for Strong Bad.
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 8 — So And So has hearts above her head after saying, "That Tompkins is such a renegade!"
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 9 — What's Her Face has hearts floating over her head when thinking of dating Sci-Fi Greg.
- Email geddup noise — Homestar emits hearts when he hears the Chairscoot noise.
- Teen Girl Squad Issue 12 — What's Her Face has hearts above her head when flying away with the Wireless Wizard.
- Pistols for Pandas — Hearts float from the head of the media center lady after being charmed by Crack Stuntman.
- Twenty THANXty Six — 1-Up emits hearts when he's thankful for Pan Pan's epiglottis.
- Doomy Tales of the Macabre — Homestar emits hearts when Strong Sad removes his knees as the sensation gives him good thoughts.
