The folks in Free Country, USA seem to enjoy playing, watching, and discussing Sports.

Badminton

• Strong Bad mentions the sport in Where's The Cheat?.
• Strong Mad and The Cheat are shown with badminton racquets in labor day.
• Strong Bad and Strong Mad discuss the sport and wonder what the official rules about it are in army.

Baseball

• Mark Lemke is a commonly referenced baseball player.

• Coach Z is usually seen wearing an unbranded baseball cap.
• Homestar Runner — Homestar plays baseball in Where My Hat Is At?
• Strong Sad — In the email keep cool, he mentions that baseball games are at two, eleven, and three.
• The Grape Fairie — In Strongest Man in the World he claims he got the golbol in 1974 from Mookie Wilson. Mookie Wilson was a professional baseball player durring the 1980s and early 1990s best known for playing for the New York Mets, the team referenced in the golbol Easter egg.

Basketball

We all long for the days of the ABA

• Pom Pom — In Pom Pom, Too one of the Poms is colored like an ABA basketball, and two of them look like NBA basketballs. In different town, Strong Bad says "Pom Pom wouldn't change at all / 'cept he'd look like an ABA basketball". In A Decemberween Pageant Pom-Pom is cast as Kobe #1.
• Strong Mad — In Halloween Fairstival, he dresses as Ben Wallace. In A Decemberween Pageant he is cast as Kobe #2.
• Strong Bad — In his character video, one of his accepted forms of payments is "Denver Nuggets." In the email new hands, one of the options for his hands is an ABA basketball. In New Boots, The Cheat draws him dribbling and spinning basketballs. In Strong Bad's autobiography, he supposedly played on a basketball team with "The Deke."
• Coach Z — In the email secret recipes, he doesn't appear to know what a basketball is, referring to one as "a bounce thing". He is also seen with a basketball stuck to his head in candy product.
• The Cheat — Moses Malone is supposedly a buddy of The Cheat.

Competitive Swimming

• Strong Sad and Strong Bad — In the email other days, Strong Sad mentions that they will be late for swim practice (although earlier in the e-mail Strong Bad denies that he goes to swim practice).

Football

• Coach Z — His old timey counterpart is a football player named "The Fort Wayne Locomotive."
• Strong Bad — In Senorial Day, Senor Cardgage and Strong Bad "play catch" with a football.
• Strong Mad — In The House That Gave Sucky Treats, his costume is William "Refridgerator" Perry, a famous football player from the 1980s.
• Strong Sad — While hyper in the email caffeine, he claims, "I don't even watch football! I don't even watch football!"
• Strong Mad, Strong Bad, and Homestar appear in the Superbowl Dealie toon.
• Email high school — "Middle School" Coach Z dreams of being "craptain of the foortball torm".
• KOT's VOQPCS! — the King of Town's scheme to get the Poopsmith to smell better somehow involves a game of football.
• Email crying — Strong Bad "quotes" Li'l Brudder as saying "I'm gonna be a quarterback when I grow up. I'm gonna throw for 2,000 yards."
• Toikey TV — Strong Mad, Strong Bad and The Cheat wind up watching the 2007 Falling Asleep On The Couch Watching Football Bowl.

Soccer referred to as Football

• Email little questions — the sender asks "Has you some time play football?" and Strong Bad answers by saying that he loves football.
• The System Is Down from the album Strong Bad Sings And Other Type Hits, Strong Bad shouts "football!".

Golf

Is it golf?

• The Cheat — The Cheat is known to own a golf club, which he uses to hit things on the CGNU Golf Club Team, as seen in mascot.
• The Paper — The Paper has the word "golf" visible under its sweatshirt during its preppy phase in the email the paper.
• mini-golf

Hockey

• Coach Z — Seems to coach field hockey, based on Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2.
• Marzipan — Seems to play field hockey, based on Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2.
• Homestar — Shows up in a Boston Bruins jersey in Superbowl Dealie.

Martial Arts

The Champeenship

• Homestar — Participates in the "Champeenship," which seems to be a judo/karate type tournament.
• Pom Pom seems quite skilled in martial arts. He is seen practicing martial arts in Theme Song Video. In the Email pom pom, he manages to "beat the everloving snot" out of Strong Bad. He is also seen with a bo and performing impressive acrobatics in one of the segments in Summer Short Shorts.

Soccer

• Strong Bad — In the email little questions, he mentions that he hates soccer.
• The Cheat — In the email ghosts, Strong Bad tells the ghost of the Tandy "The Cheat has soccer practice."
• Strong Sad — In the email caffeine, Hyperactive Strong Sad asks Coach Z if he wants to play some soccer.
• Bubs — In Happy Hallow-day, Bubs is dressed as Coach McGuirk, the soccer coach in the television series Home Movies.

Tennis

• John McEnroe is a commonly referenced tennis player.
• Bubs — Holds a tennis racquet and has a John McEnroe wig on in Senorial Day.
• Strong Bad and Coach Z — Play tennis on the moon in the email flashback.
• Strong Bad — Admits he likes tennis player Martina Navratilova in Decemberween Short Shorts.
• The Paper — During The Paper's preppy phase in the email the paper, it is seen wearing a sweater with the word "tennis".

Track and Field

It's a sad day for Track and Field

• Homestar — Seen running several times, most notably at the beginning of Bug In Mouth Disease.
• Strong Bad — In the email disconnected, "Head Bad" manages to beat Homestar in a race with his new jets.
• The King of Town — Is seen "running" in the email autobiography.
