[edit] Welcome to HRWiki

Hi, GreenHelmet! Welcome to HRWiki! Even though we have like, fifty of you Green Helmets, we want you to know that we value your presence here! ;-) I saw that you were a bit frustrated earlier when MediaWiki turned your four tildes into a signature. Here's a hint: If you add <nowiki> before and </nowiki> after the text you write, it won't be formatted. Like this: ~~~~. Hope that helps! If you have any questions while you're here, feel free to ask at my talk page. Keep on tranglin'! Heimstern Läufer 04:29, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Aha! Thanks!  Green Helmet 14:31, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey there, i know Heimstern already welcomed you, but i felt like saying hi also. I've noticed your edits round here, and i must say, they're all clean, nicely written, well thought out... a prime example of how contributions are supposed to look. You seem like you know your way around quite well. In short, ol' Heimi was wrong. We most certainly DON'T have like 50 of you, and it's a pleasure to see someone who starts off as a superb editor without having to learn the ropes. Keep on... doing whatever it is you're doing... — DeFender1031*Talk 03:46, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I had lurked around for a bit before I got tired of typing in the Capchta that anony's have to do (and I consistently got wrong 2-3 times every edit). Thanks very much for the encouraging remarks!  Green Helmet 04:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nice template!

I love the new Template:Timeline of Homestar Runner. It's rockin' cool! Keep it up, GreenHelmet. Keep up the pace! OptimisticFool 21:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! It was fun.  Green Helmet 22:16, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki Edits

Thanks for the heads up about the changes to my page. It's strange, when I started I was logged in... but thanks for catching that. I'll make sure I'm logged in next time. ››› rly2cheat 01:35, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

No probalo ;-)  Green Helmet 01:44, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Air Support

Here's that air support you asked for.

I've said it before, but after watching your work for the past few weeks, I felt that you deserved some recognition of your hard work above and beyond that of just a friendly comment. I'm not usually one to give barnstars, I personally tend to think that their meaning has become somewhat watered down, but I think I speak for the whole HRWiki community when I say that you really are an exemplary user. Your opinions are well thought out and level headed, you know what actions need to be taken when, you know your way around the technical side of things, and you know how to word things civilly but also get your point across. I therefore present you with air support, to let you know that your work is not being ignored in lieu of inane ramblings about shopping exploits. Keep up the good work. — DeFender1031*Talk 06:54, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Tanks! Wow! I sure hope I can live up to those nice things you said. I am sincerely honored to be given this from someone who does such admirable work here. Who'd have ever imagined actual air support for one of us Green Helmets? You should be the new Gunhaver, I hear the role is available. I'll have to stick this into my user page somehow... later on, unfortunately, other duties are eating into my playtime tonight.  Green Helmet 04:09, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Once again, your all-around editing quality has proven that, despite your username, we don't really have like, fifty of you. Folks with your dedication to the project and good sense of what's good for the wiki are an uncommon thing indeed.
By the way, have you considered visiting us on the IRC channel? It's a great chance to get to know folks in the community a bit better. Just something to consider. Heimstern Läufer 18:26, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Heimstern! I saw someone commenting about the IRC once and I thought "I should check that out sometime" — but I still haven't. My afternoon of DVD watching / transcript cleaning-up is getting interrupted now (going out for a hike), but I plan to pick up where I left off this evening — I'll see if anyone's on there then. (Note to self: you left off at for kids).  Green Helmet 18:39, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] August 12th Update

Oh man, I laughed SOOOO hard just now... Kudos. — DeFender1031*Talk 18:55, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Shh! We'll see if she notices it.  Green Helmet 19:22, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
looks like she did... — DeFender1031*Talk 21:10, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Multiple-responses template

Hey GreenHelmet. I'm liking what you're trying to do with the {{multiple-responses}} template, but I'm wondering whether it wouldn't be simpler just to do something like this. The advantage would be that the code would be a lot easier to maintain, it would process faster on the back end, and a simple list can be scaled indefinitely instead of being limited to the size of the template. What do you think? — It's dot com 04:42, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

That is a lot simpler overall in all respects. I guess I over-complicated the issue I was trying solve. Let's go that route.  Green Helmet 04:47, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Hey, I've been there too. I don't know whether you're familiar with STUFF at all, but when I first proposed a redesign, I tried to use one, big, horribly complicated template. It was suggested that it be split up into manageable code, and we wisely did so. — It's dot com 06:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikitext ninja strikes back

Hey there. Just so you know, this edit doesn't actually do anything. The software automatically transforms <br> and <br/> into <br /> in the final html. I tend to use the shortest version because it's less to type and I think it looks better in the wikitext. Talk atcha later! — It's dot com 00:37, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trogdor Polo Chucker

To get this rating, you need to complete the game and get maximum Awesomeness (get the high score in all mini-games, get all the hidden items, etc.) And, yes, Trogdor Polo Chucker is the final rating. --Jay (Talk) 00:20, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

And beating the game seems to be a pre-requisite. As far as I can tell, it is ONLY awarded in Extended Play. OptimisticFool 00:25, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, and I totally didn't mention that, too. --Jay (Talk) 00:32, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, one thing you missed was that you not only have to complete the game, you have to actually enter Extended Play. So there. =] OptimisticFool 00:52, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Hmm... I'd thought I'd done all that. But it turns out my Snake Boxer score is still red.  Green Helmet 00:55, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Grood Jorb

Hey GreenHelmet. I'm a bit of a lurker sysop at the moment, and even I'm noticing that you make good edits. Keep up the good work! :-) Loafing 19:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, Loafing! I've seen you around on IRC a few times I think. At least in passing. ;)  Green Helmet

[edit] You dead?

Where are you?? OptimisticFool 03:34, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

I am alive, thank you for asking. I've been unusually busy for about the last month with both work and personal things. I haven't even had a chance to play Battle of the Band yet (I plan to get to it this weekend). I have still been lurking around the site every couple of days but haven't really had time to contribute. When life returns to normal I will. It's nice to know I'm missed, so thanks :)  Green Helmet 14:20, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Good to have you around

It's very good to see you back in action these days. Users of your calibre are becoming increasingly rare on our wiki. Hope you'll have plenty of time for wikiing these days, even though apparently you're now rather busy removing half of the Cheat Commandos from Headquarters Playset! Talk atcha later. Heimstern Läufer 10:57, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Heimstern, it's nice to hear. Fortunately, I'm not too busy, since there are like 50 of us to do take care of things. (If only that were true in real life too... hmm...)  Green Helmet 13:34, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Incidentally, you thought about stopping by IRC anytime soon? I'm not always on at convenient hours, what with my being in China, but still, I'd be glad to see you around there sometime. At any rate, keep up the good work on-wiki. Heimstern Läufer 15:30, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
