Pom Pom as Walter Sobchak

The Big Lebowski is a 1998 comedy film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen starring Jeff Bridges and John Goodman. The movie is widely considered to be a cult classic for its originality and direction, its eccentric characters, and its convoluted plot. The Brothers Chaps sometimes slip references to this movie in Homestar Runner cartoons.

This toon also references other aspects of the movie, such as the severed toe, the lines "You're entering a world of pain" and "DONNY, YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT!", which were repeated sayings of Sobchak, and a moment where Pom Pom inappropriately draws a gun.
  • Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 13.2Strong Bad says "Am I wrong? Somebody, am I wrong?", which was a line said by Sobchak.

  • Email pet show — The summary in New Stuff says that "The Cheat has freaking papers, Dude". Walter says the same thing (albeit, more explicitly) to The Dude when explaining why his ex-wife could not take her dog with her on vacation.
